Thank God GH did the right thing and did not have the son of a bitch who caused Monica enough pain to last 10 lifetimes be a part of her funeral.

Yeah.

It was when he got a full pardon for it that we didn't get Monica's POV.

Thanks!  I swear my Sonny 90's loving brain blocks out these things.  It's probably a clinical disease.

I swear I read something about SC having issues with FV and that's a huge reason he left OLTL, so I can't see him ever returning to GH

Lots of people have had issues with FV and then buried the hatchet and come back. His weren't that serious. But I don't think he'll ever leave B&B.

Crypt sex was the last straw for me.

That was the moment I really started to hate his ass 😂😂

Steve Burton was the star again today. His grief was palpable.

Rory Gibson was really good, especially for someone who didn't know Leslie Charleson at all. Lynn Herring did a very nice job, so I'll forgive the ridiculous idea that she'd be invited to speak at the funeral.

Wally Kurth was good, and so was Lisa LoCicero, even with very few lines. I can only imagine watching Jane Elliott tomorrow.

I hope Leslie Charleson knew how much she was loved.

Just then?  Lol.  I started hating Sonny in 1997 when he left Brenda, but kept pushing along because I thought it was an obvious personal mistake on his part that he's regretted his entire life.

I can't even tell you how I felt when Sonny told Brenda he shot Dante and she said that must have been so painful for YOU.  My brain left my body.  Pretty sure it was much more painful for Dante.

I think I drank the GH Kool-Aid a little bit when I was younger 😂😂

Which was probably why I was so worried that he'd be at Monica's funeral

A lot of us were worried.

It should be a given that Sonny wouldn't be there, but we know this show -- so we've been holding our breath.

It's crazy, but this feels like a gift.

I haven't watched the whole thing yet but I want to say thank you to whoever over there had enough self awareness to keep Sonny and Carly far away. That would have been so insulting. I still get war flashbacks of them both being shoved into Alan and Lila's funerals.

The Lois scenes yesterday were lovely but I wish they'd gotten both her and Anna over there for the memorial.

Btw, next years Emmy's is going to be a very, very tough competition.

Very. It really should be on tv.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! I love how us as a collective agree that Sonny and Carly should be NOWHERE near this.

Jane is such an MVP. She was very close to Leslie, Stuart, and Anna Lee in real life. I can’t imagine what it must feel like to be the last one standing from your original “core” group of colleagues and close friends. Since she’s been back, Tracy’s been an instrumental part of making the Quartermaine’s a formidable force on the show again. GH better hold on to Jane for as long as she’s able to be there.

Jane being bored in retirement was the best gift she could have given GH fans. She has been the best part of the last couple of years, seeing an evolved but still formidable Tracy has been awesome.

The Dante part had me actually laughing.

I will admit while I soured on the character during his relationship with SJB’s Carly, Maurice was still doing intense work and was very attractive to watch smolder onscreen. And taking generous viewing breaks helped during JFP’s era. But the show kind of evolved everyone around him, and left him in the dust. Carly and Jason both grew as people during the late 2000’s, and Sonny has honestly regressed, then just got old. They want to keep him the same, but it doesn’t work anymore for the show or even for Mo.

And yet, after the Gio reveal, Dante apologized for holding a grudge against Sonny after that.

Very much so. May Tracy never lose her edge.

It really doesn't. Earlier I was just thinking about that as I was reading comments on today's episode here and there. Right now, there's so many places for Jason to go. And in spite of the writing, I know I could sit here and think of things for Carly as well. Sonny...not a thing that hasn't been tried before.

And then when I think about it...it's really telling. Keep in mind...Steve Burton whom I've always liked for the most part...came back humbled as Jason during PM. And the idea of different avenues was there for him. And even in spite of the writing doing a 'factory settings' on him, there are still ways to use Jason. The show...of the 3...does feel more centered on him. And moreso SB carries that well. And continues to. Meanwhile...Carly lost EVERYTHING...well as much as Carly will lose everything when Sonny and Nina got together. And we saw her rebuild, claim the Spencer name, get her groove back with Drew. And still got back to her former standing that Nina usurped. In hindsight, a good pivot. And she can still be used sooo much better than she is currently, but I can still see possibilities.

I honestly think Sonny's (and Mo's) last chance at a pivot was Nixon Falls and how much he was a mixture of Old Sonny/NixonFalls Mike when he made it back to PC. And that worked for the character and worked for Mo. Now? I don't see anything for him beyond my hoped for (after A LOOOOT of begging) ride off into the sunset with Brenda. Because since Nixon Falls, the character has only gotten worse. And worse...PROPPED. Sonny feels more like a dead end even with all his connections.
