would let her go.  She's a liability that makes her own rules at this point.  I am sure she's probably a nice person, but she can't reliably show to act and it's not even like she's on that often.  Plenty of women would kill to have her job.

Would your job ever let you take 6 months off to move?

I'm with you on Kirsten Storms, and I agree it's past time the show let her go.

Yes, she was great in the past year -- a Maxie revival -- but this constant in-and-out is hard to take. She's off for one reason, then another. Then another. Now we hear she moved to Nashville to be closer to her son. Well, the kid is young, so it's not like in 6 months he'll be off to college and won't need her every day.

GH has been beyond accomodating to her and whatever she's gone through. At some point, Jesus, just replace her.

Nathan's return would have been much better with Maxie around. And if KS returns in November, will we get a few episodes here and there when she has time to fly in and tape? Because this potential story seems to require someone who can be available on the reg.

It is insane to me that GH/ABC have given Storms a leash this long.

100% agree, but her child Harper is a girl lol.

It's obviously FV and the cast's commendable loyalty to KS that's kept this going on. I would probably write Spixie out together for awhile too if she can't commit to returning and staying. I couldn't care less about Nathan though, a bland pairing with a boring block of concrete. I think they're all worried what will happen to her without the job though tbqh. It's a no-win scenario.

I think that's a fair assessment.  But people in regular jobs in real life don't get that cushion.  BB seems like a responsible father.  There has to be a lot of reasons he got full custody of the child.  Idk, with Tyler's passing it feels like GH should be a bit more responsible about giving KS options instead of coddling her.  But of course I am just spit balling as I don't know if KS has substance/mental issues.

to literally go on "medical leaves" for extended periods at time isn't exactly requesting time off, but c'mon.  Wasn't one medical leave for a frickin rash?  Or skin ailment?   Almost a year off for endometriosis is also excessive from personal experience.

One of Storms' more recent leaves was for the surgical removal of a tumor inside her head -- she says it had had been causing some problems for some time before it was finally discovered as the cause.
I honestly don't remember the reasons for her prior leaves.

Many of them have been vague and frankly unconvincing based on a lot of stories over the years.

I have no doubt many of Kirsten's medical issues are real. But few require her to be gone as long as she often is.

I mean, then maybe she should vacate the role if she has such serious issues.  I am 99% sure one leave was over skin issues.  I will look it up, but KS's leaves have a variety of google searches lol

I am sure she has medical issues as well, but it's not GH's job to continue to pay her if she can't film.

LOL What would happen if I didn't screw up at least once in every post?

-- Portia is embarrassing. Brooke Kerr is treated so shabbily by these writers.

-- Shallow Alert: Ryan Paevey is so good-looking that I don't care about his acting. That man is fine.

Portia is a trainwreck and hypocritical, but Curtis sucks so I am not even mad about it.

Paevey is good looking  That's all.  Nothing else to see here.

Not to be contrary as you know I love you, but having to literally go on "medical leaves" for extended periods at time isn't exactly requesting time off, but c'mon.  Wasn't one medical leave for a frickin rash?  Or skin ailment?   Almost a year off for endometriosis is also excessive from personal experience.

I meant to say "hasn't requested any specific time off". To my recollection, this is the first time she has requested time off for any period of time (publicly, anyway).

Plus, for me, requesting time to relocate you and your child in comparison to being out for medical reasons is vastly different, again from my perspective. And I state that because I would not fire her for requesting the time (especially when you offer to supposedly keep her on contract), nor do I believe she could be fired for medical absences (as I am sure medical absences are covered via contracts/SAG-AFTRA, etc.), especially if for longer periods of time. It's not like she called Frank and said, "Meh, I don't want to work today. Replace me."

I am not saying she should be banned for life from GH, but when her public excuses are always relatively mild things that people deal with every day like moving (which she doesn't have to) or skin issues it's vague on paper.   Have you ever known anyone who had the luxury of taking an entire year off and still be employed for endometriosis?

To me she's basically calling Frank and saying, "Meh, I can't work for half a year, I hope that's okay".

I think everyone here is reading between the lines and digging deeper because there's obviously other things at play, but going by Kirsten Storms's actual excuses she's taking time off for very minor issues.  I hope she's well and I can give her grace, but, lol, I am moving and I need the entire rest of the year off is ridiculous.

Kirsten doesn't owe me or anyone any explanation or excuse, but when she gives silly ones I think I can judge them.

I make fun of Amanda Setton and her wardrobe all the time.  I think she should be recast, but she physically shows up for work and does her job even if I don't agree with her performance.
