Like every mystery on GH, it's a little undercut by the fact that half the suspects have tried to kill, or actually have killed people before lol

But I'm looking forward to seeing what happens. Hopefully, we get a lot of twists and turns and the writers try to keep us guessing.

I did love the shooter standing over a lifeless Drew on the floor and shooting him a second time.

That was amazing. It showed just how badly they wanted him dead.

With the big story coming this fall about the Quartermaines, it would be stupid to not have Drew in that mix as well. I hope this is not going to be the end of this version of the character, because the show has needed these natural, deep, and vicious conflicts for a long time. I have to add to my list of character types every soap should have to include a scumbag with power. I forgot how much fun this kind of character can be.

All these breakneck story turns and cliffhangers, mixed with the overall highly plot motivated storytelling is reminiscent of the style that Charles Pratt employs on a soap. The good news is that this team doesn’t have a thick layer of misogyny over everything. I am not saying the women are all written well, far from it. But it’s not the outright misogynistic nastiness that permeated his work on GH and other runs.

I am a little gunshy (ha!) with their abilities to tell these kinds of stories because they also often punk out and eliminate suspects too soon, and or basically drop it and it didn’t matter in the end. This is a real chance for them to ride a mystery into some momentum that will finally move them up from 1.2 in the households if they percolate it and keep the twists coming, and have the characters we do care about in the mix all the way to the reveal (so even if it is Sidwell or his son, or they make it that way, people we actually like should be suspects to the end).

They didn’t do a very good job of making Carly seem viable. I know she is supposed to be matured but in the Guza days Carly absolutely would be the main suspect, and would remember the shooting on another rainy night (during seeps), and either go on the run to drag it out to another sweeps or have a mental collapse and that’s why it doesn’t come out yet. Bonus points for her memory coming back or the breakdown happening after she skids on the rainy road and runs another character down, like Elizabeth.

Forgot to add last week: The Gio stuff in the church and with Dante/BLQ talking about his foster mother was admittedly very well-done, from script to performances. GM remains very strong and connected well with them, as well as alone in his monologue to his mother.

Agreed. If anything, it’s about a month too late as far as keeping the story thread alive but I am glad they included them.

I would agree that Vultaggio is better and I am positive I have never complimented her before.

Damn. And truth!

Assuming for a moment that Drew lives, I'll just crosspost what I wrote on PTV the other day:

Like other missed beats of this story we've discussed, I do wish they'd have Danny just once ask Drew why he hates him now. Drew raised Danny for his early childhood, called him his son and was brokenhearted as Billy Miller when he had to give him up, even if the similar scenes with Hudson West's Jake were far more emotional because of that deep bond. While the Jake/Drew relationship went deeper (and should be Drew's one key soft spot still), and Danny later overcompensated by moving towards Jason as an adolescent, Danny still loved him and thought of Drew as his dad for a number of years. And Drew loved him too.

As a member of the audience fanwanking, I can understand why Drew has compartmentalized his life as "Jason" and veered so hard and brutally in another direction since he has virtually no past memories beyond that false life while all traces of his old life before his brainwashing are gone or dead, etc. (I'm theorized before that in the younger Willow he also sees an echo of his lost past with Kim Nero and their son.) But they don't play this discussion or the motive behind his change onscreen. Drew is just evil now, and you're not supposed to remember he used to have these relationships with people he now antagonizes. I don't mind Drew being a villain, he's a great one. But there should be nuances to how he got here discussed onscreen. They've feinted at this with Willow re: her cult background recently, but this team only tends to mention background and motivation late in the game.

My only issue with the last few weeks for those characters, and this is not about the Gio stuff, is the consistent need to keep BLQ front and center in all emotional material. I'm sorry, but Brook and Maxie do not have and will never have the relationship Lulu and Maxie had in the last 20 years. Alexa is still far too often basically the co-pilot to Amanda Setton in a lot of that stuff.

No other GH, arguably no other soap would have this popular longtime couple with two popular soap stars playing second fiddle or wingmen to AS' Brook Lynn. I'm not saying she's doing a bad job because she isn't, at all. But I just find it criminal that Lulu and Dante are not presently leading the show. (And I was not even a fan of theirs in the JMB/Emme Rylan years!) It's about FV's favoritism still.

Wait! GH was pre-empted here in NYC two days in a row last week due to the Minnesota incident. When did Portia sleep with Isaiah?? Damn, now I have have to go back and watch on Hulu.

Thursday, I believe. After Portia was whining about their marriage when Stella was arrested and Curtis walked out on her. I found this whole setup goofy and rushed, but then I don't care about any of the characters except Portia and they've absolutely dragged her character under a truck yet again. They really hate her lol.

Thanks Vee.

Yep, Portia gets screwed again (no pun intended).

Due to the interruptions, GH put those two episodes up on abc.com unlocked, if for some reason you cannot access hulu for them.

I will go back and skim through on Hulu. I'm old school, I much prefer to watch the original network broadcasts so I record my shows. I didn't think I missed much, but THAT I want to see.

-- Yeah, they're really throwing big rocks at Portia's character again.

It's all so rushed. Curtis walks out on Portia and she then immediately hits the sheets (and her desk) in a torrid affair? Not a good look.

-- I was crazy when Portia got the call to the hospital when Drew was shot. Isaiah asked "Where's Terry?" because Teri's chief of staff. Portia laughably said "She didn't answer." So no work for Cassandra James this month, either.

-- Portia is scrubbing in to work on Drew? 😂

-- Van Hansis continues to look out of place when working on an emergency patient in the ER. None of it looks authentic.

-- Brook Lynn again looks like she's dressed for the funeral home.

-- Overall, though, another very good episode today, front to back.

Lol!   I was laughing at Elizabeth just saying Willow dipped out on her shift.   Like Liz you are her boss?  Why aren't we more concerned about that from a business standpoint?   You can't just start losing nurses at this point.
