Steve Burton can play emotion so well. Certainly if he were weepy all the time like JJ’s Lucky during his first big return, it wouldn’t stand out. But just how stricken he looked was so powerful. Like all of the blood drained from his face. He can really step it up.

Steve always comes to work for this kind of stuff, at least. He clearly had the bond with Leslie offscreen, even as Jason treated the Qs like filth for years. It helps that Jason has softened in recent times for the reasons I've mentioned. He played the emotion with Sam's death last year despite his and Monaco maybe being on the outs. I remember him playing Alan's death well years ago.

I do think the last disastrous year and his paying for a costly divorce may have also contributed to some renewed commitment.

I've always thought Steve was a decent actor even back in the 90's.  It got muddied along the way when he started to play Stone Cold Action Hero Jason.  I have never doubted he was capable if he tried.

He’s definitely a talent. It’s a shame that he often has so little opportunity (or motivation) to showcase his sensitivity and incredible access to his emotions. I remember the scenes that won him an Emmy on Y&R, and he was great in those, too, even though Dylan was a nothing character. I’m glad it appears he’s getting more opportunities nowadays on GH, which I don’t watch much anymore.

Jason and Tracy's scenes, especially towards the end, were moving. Is it possible that Jason, in wishing he had some of his old memories, actually showed some character development?? 😯

-- I co-sign all the positive comments about Steve Burton's acting and @Vee's analysis of Jason and his role with Tracy and the Quartermaines.

-- SB and JE were wonderful today. Without them, we wouldn't feel the loss of Monica (or Leslie Charleson) the way we do. Great flashbacks, too.

-- Britt is so unlikable. Why does this show insist on actor returns that paint their characters as hard to take? Alexa Havins nails her Lulu role, but she's been so difficult to put up with at times. Are we going to hate Nathan (if that's who Ryan Paevey portrays) when he returns tomorrow?

Jason also treated Monica, Edward, etc. like shít for almost two decades. It's past time he bent the knee, and I'm glad he's done it.

Allan and Edward share alot of blame as does Tony who mistreated him badly as a doctor . Jason couldn't end up as a paramedic or firefighter but they sent him straight to Sonny

A lot of people came off as really smug today, especially people at the hospital.

Luckily, Steve Burton and Jane Elliott, and their scenes, really did save the episode as a whole. They work so well together. You really felt their sense of loss, especially Jason's.

I really hope that GH delves into what it means for Jason, as a person, now that his mother is gone. I mean, he caused her so much pain for literally no reason.

The character could definitely use a reset, and this is the time to do it.

That's one thing that I have liked actually. Since Steve Burton came back, it had started to feel like a reset. A Jason with boundaries with Sonny and Carly? Who knew? Of course, that was under PM and I was looking forward to THAT Jason. A Jason who wanted to be there for his kids...and at the time it looked like PM was going to do a Sins of the Father storyline with his and Drew's kids. A Jason who was single and so were his popular love interests and they were all organically interacting. A Jason who...just wanted to do coffee inventory at the warehouse lol. Of course that last part was silly so I had hoped as what was mentioned above earlier...that he would become a WSB agent since the writers appeared to be keeping Brennan in town and it would have been a refreshing route to go with Jason that would give his fans the action they expect from Jason without redoing mob stuff. More important, Jason focusing on his kids was bringing him back into the Q fold...loooooooooong overdue, but well-timed since the Qs were becoming THE family again for the first time in years.

But of course we know how things ended with PM. And the New/Old writers were quick to put Jason back in 'factory settings' without any kind of acknowledgement of his growth with Sonny.

So it's been refreshing now that the writers appear to have found a rhythm in their writing and some time has passed, that Jason does appear to be somewhat back on that direction that PM started. It's part of the reason what's happening this week does feel earned from his POV. If not him, then Tracy. Most of all, Steve really has been emoting since he came back, no matter how silly the situation is *cough*Annaforcedromance*cough*

I think the reset is already here. The writers just have to keep going. And not fumble it. And their odds are 50/50.

FINALLY.

LOL!!! I finally got to her first appearance and so far...I feel she's an upgrade and was dreading her saying Papa. So great to hear.

And YES she really does favor Scarlett Johannsen.

With Lulu I think it's somewhat deliberate tbh, because FV wants the focus on the BLQ end of the story. With Britt I think they all think it's a fun feature and not a bug, lol.

If they try to sell RP playing a villain it's just going to be laughable.
