She was not credited. There is no credit for Deanna McBride.

Guiding Light Discussion Thread

On paper, I can see why GL might think Alex/Mike/Lillian would work. There's the Mike/Alan history, the Mike/Phillip history and all that playing out over Lujack and Beth's romance. But I can't think of a less interesting story---unless it was Jim/Hillary/Fletch. I credit Beverlee with a lot, but I can't see Alex being fascinated with a straight arrow type (even Fletch originally had a bit of operator in him), or putting up with Mike's self-righteous streak.
As for Jim Reardon, I think he was brought on to shake up the Reardon family dynamic, especially after the truth about Tom's "desertion" was revealed. Tony needed someone to measure himself against, and a brother is kind of that natural fit. I just don't think it worked. Jim wasn't a dynamic enough character to spark story, imo. To be honest, I don't watch a lot of the Reardons, so I don't even know if they really interact much after his arrival. Jim is briefly an issue for Ed/Mo, but mostly he romances Hillary. Of course, he's only there a year, whether or not that was Michael Woods' intent or not---the role was hardly unrecastable at that point.
I think the Reardons just fell apart. It would've been hard to recast either Nola or Tony, but to do both would've been nearly impossible. And they're pretty much the heart of the clan. (With apologies to Ellen Dolan, who I love as ATWT's Margo, her Mo is just kind of "there" for most of her run.)

with Ashley, and I'm willing to see what happens if Ashley finally surprises me. I'm just glad if they're leaving her thing with Andre in the rearview.

BTG: January 2026 Discussion Thread

I had a friend of mine recently start watching the show and I was explaining to them about how Dani/Andre seemed to be a happy surprise and that the show listened to viewer feedback and kept them together as a couple instead of what I think was the intended plan of Andre/Ashley (which seems pretty much dormant now if today's episode was any indication).
The friend asked me why Dani/Andre only seem to be shown in bed and having sex vs having actual deep conversations that a couple should have. I told them that there had been numerous conversations between the two in the past.. but that they just happened to watch during their sexy time phase of the relationship.
What I liked about today's episode was the Chelsea/Kat conflict because I saw both sides of their arguments... but it is Kat's decision what she wants to do. I have to admit I like that Kat is establishing boundaries and having a life for herself away from her family. The timing is off because of what Anita's going through, but she'll visit her grandmother once she has worked through her own internal fears.
And Ashley continues to excel as the supportive friend and wondering if the show will actually keep her in this realm a bit longer before trying to throw her into another insta-relationship.... time will tell.

They're already doing that, which I find to be a waste of time IMO. Jacinda is a fairly bland dayplayer and a story Michael has had before. Michael is an emerging leading man and needs a strong, new range of leading lady contract options. GH needs to commit to the next generation, and to their credit they are increasingly making moves towards it.

We never saw them do the deed. He may have been buying her time for other reasons. I'm just sayin' the way he was on the stand and then the carefully worded convo with Jacinda at the bar gave me strong vibes that the story shifted. I do think they're going to give Michael/Jacinda a shot, which is why they had Nina actually being sympathetic to her a few weeks ago, the Kristina interactions, vibes, etc. I'm not opposed to it, but it's definitely not what was initially planned.

ChelseaKat does need to be a much bigger thing, as does Dani's business. Same with the nascent Martin/Bill political storyline. I think MM has hinted that Smitty in the workplace will become a bigger storyline soon, which makes me happy.
I did love the cotillion drama yesterday. That's how soaps can and should educate for their viewers, as opposed to the more random speechifying the show often likes to engage in for so many other moments. There was real specificity to the discussion.
I also loved Andre and Dani being domestic in the kitchen today!
