August 31, 2025Aug 31 Member I wonder if this is the month we'll meet or at least learn what soap hunk was cast in the mystery role MVJ teased.

I’m still waiting for my complex, layered Black man that I’ve wanted since this show was announced (at LEAST one on a predominantly Black soap). Bill’s the closest thing we have, and he’s not yet scratching that itch for me. Edited August 31, 2025Aug 31 by Faulkner

Depends on when the person was cast. Meaning, did they cast them just before the Deadline interview and they already started filming, or did they cast them with the intent of them starting filming for Season 2? I have a few guesses, and I think I know who it will eventually be, but the details are important in terms of when the deal went down, so as to determine when we'll officially learn of the individual's debut date. For instance, we didn't know it at the time, but we caught a shot of Keith D. Robinson on set months before his casting was announced; we just didn't realize it at the time. I'm not sure that's the case here.

I loved the scene where he was railing at Vernon about swallowing the family's sins for them. I think Martin is in that area but it gets obscured by what they focus on plot-wise and BC being green, though I do feel he's improved a lot. The rest of the males are cast across more simplistic outlines, but it is still earlier days and they have yet to shake enough of the B&B formula. Which they need to do. I agree it's for the best that it's a Black addition. I'd love to see Ted King on the show, for example, and happen to think he'd have chemistry with Daphnee, but I don't love the message it would send so quickly. Especially with Ted (Richardson) having become so pathetic. Edited September 1, 2025Sep 1 by Vee
