I fully agree. I don't think there's a chance of writing improvement while he is still in charge. The new sets at best will give the show more polished and expensive look (it's been incredibly cheap and bad reality-TV-ish, I mean why would millionaires eat at Sheila and Deacon's pizza dump).

The problem is that HE (the one that should not be named) seems to think that these few years are the show's best, or at least that's what HE says in interviews. If you ask me, 2021-2025 have been the lowest point of the show. Every time I hear something like "We've had our best season yet!" I am horrified, even though I know this is a standard cliche pre-sent questions interview-answer. But still. It reminds me of people like that in other spheres in life. The cringe is hardcore.

Still there is something I can't deny... especially when I look around the vile world of social media - there ARE people who enjoy the show in it's current condition aaaaand ratings are slightly up from last year. I think some of us have the huge disadvantage (or advantage) to have seen the classic years, or even Brad's better periods in the late 90s, early 00s. Some people have started watching post-pandemic and they have nothing else to compare it to. And some people just like to watch things that are extremely stupid. There is a market for that, just look at tiktok.

About the current storylines - what can I say - is there any part of this show that is not JUST recycling bad storylines from the past? Quite honestly, I'm not opposed to recycling storylines, fine, do it... but at least recycle the good ones, OK? I mean... Broliver's Pose fiasco is not something we should be re-doing in any shape or form in 2025. The amount of rape denying and absurdity in this show is really shocking. Is this what people want to see? I hope not. If yes, then I'm not a part of this crowd.

I just love how low your standards are for just decent stories, not good or great stories.

I doubt we will get even a decent stories.

I guess they already packed the surgery scar makeup for the new studio before they filmed this episode.

Will saw the text from Elecktra - is he going to think he had sex with the co-worker who was flirting with him at the party?

I have not watched this soap since 2019, but knowing Bradley Bell just repeated a storyline that got his ignorant ass called out by Michael Logan shows just how. out of touch he continues to be. Gross. Irresponsible.

-- I have no hope that Brad Bell will "step up" and write good story. The last couple weeks are a perfect sample size to tell you it's all either roll-you-eyes stuff or another recycled story.

-- Luna rapes ANOTHER character? So now that's 2 murders, 2 sexual assaults, and clueless relatives who bring her back to life and think she can be reformed.

-- Doesn't everyone like Will want to have sex with a girl in a mask?

-- So glad that Luna recovered so quickly from her bullet holes and has no scars.

-- Not that I care about Will's relationship with Electra, one of the most annoying good girls on soaps.

I just don't get how Brad Bell seemingly has so much to destroy the show and CBS gives the green light to these rape and nonsensical stories. Even worse, the ratings always spike.

I started watching out of curiosity in '98 when Usher (who I was crushing on as a kid) appeared on. I think that was the time frame. But I really got into the show during the Macy/Brooke/Thorne triangle. That was some good soap opera and of course, Stephanie made the show for me. Outside of Stephanie setting up Brooke to be raped, the show was mostly decent. It peaked during Maya's coming out. That took guts and a dedicated writing team and actors who all delivered. If only the show could get back to that kind of storytelling.

Nothing surprises me anymore. I honestly won't be shocked if Brooke gets pregnant by Thomas in season 40. Bradley Bell knows no limits of his absurdity.

Well, I guess we have our answer why Brad Bell keeps writing this stuff. People buy into it.

A love scene? Excuse me? This was not a love scene. It was vile rape. Let's call a spade a spade. And the most vile aspect of this is that they are doing it for ratings. I am truly disgusted and I never thought this show could get any worse.

They won't call it rape just like they didn't call it grooming for what Poppy did to her barely legal nephew

Oh I'm sure they'll a Thomas/Caroline and in a few months Will will say he knew it was her and he wanted it
