I remember Tracy Thomson's name. IIRC she started at GH during Guza II, and later jumped to JFP's Y&R with her and did time with Pratt, I think both there and at AMC.

She started at GH, hired by Robert Guza Jnr, as a script continuity hire and then shifted both a breakdown and scriptwriter (she even did one episode of Night Shift). She left, and Charles Pratt Jnr hired her at AMC where she held the positions of scriptwriter and associate head writer. She briefly returned to GH as an associate head writer, and then Josh Griffith hired her as a one-episode scriptwriter and then quickly became co-head writer (first with Griffith, then with Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante); when Pratt Jnr came in, she transitioned into an associate head writer.

So, she's got a storied history in daytime. I look forward to seeing what she brings to the table, especially as co-executive producer, which is the first time she has held that position in daytime.

Again, I honestly think Thomson is there to backstop MVJ, same as Guza apparently was. I've never gotten much of a creative footprint from TT, but staff writers are often unsung and unappreciated unless they're better known names like MVJ, Karen Harris or Patrick Mulcahey, so who knows what good work she's done. I'm sure she has.

Being a co-driver is appropriate as this is MVJ's show first and foremost, but I am expecting any real quality improvement to come at the deeper level within the writing staff. My issues with the show are much less with the larger stories than with the day to day scripts, etc. Some are decent, some are howlers, some are both. Very few have touched the caliber of MVJ's GH days.

I would love to see these two come in to play.

I'd give a lot. But I suspect they both are way too comfortable where they are in life, and I can't see Mulcahey coming back into the lion's den after what just went down at ABC lol.

I agree; although, I do think if Michele Val Jean asked, I do think Mulcahey would give it another go.

I don't expect a massive material change with her addition as MVJ's co-head tbh. If Guza was going to have had a heavy hand in the show's plotting over the past months I frankly think we would've already seen it. I suspect Thomson is another trusted pair of hands MVJ knows well (like Guza) to help her facilitate her vision. But for right now the place I'd personally look for real day to day changes is in watching if they hire some more veteran dialogue and breakdown writers with stronger background and expertise. That daily work IMO is what the show needs the most.

I know I'm going to get whacked for saying this but I do think Jamey is going to be a helpful addition to the breakdown team. I also feel like that is the position that Susan Dansby should be in as opposed to Script Editor. The three of them worked well together on Ambitions so the chemistry is there and I do think the show would benefit from having Black voices in the breakdown arena since I know that role can also pitch and help refine stories.

Lord, I'd forgotten he was doing that. We'll see soon enough!

I really applaud MVJ for creating a predominantly Black writing team below her, and I know it's a sensitive issue re: old white folks coming back in. I just think there are some senior talents that could be incredibly helpful to nailing a stronger tone for this show, its scripts and characters.

Thank you. I know the name but I couldn't remember if Tracy Thomson was a writer I liked or not.

June is a homeless lady that Naomi is helping. Why, I don't even remember anymore haha. But June carries an old picture of a young boy and young girl, which we all here assumes are Tyrell and Samantha (but hasn't been confirmed yet). Regina just came on last week and is June's sister. She recognizes the picture and says those are June's kids she gave up to the foster system.

You'll start to pick up on this, but BTG likes to showcase a story full on for a week, then they get backburner'ed for a couple weeks, then they pop back up. The A stories cycle through in that way, which some people love and others don't.

I don’t particularly hate that, as long as the story doesn’t completely drop off the face of the earth and we are still getting some progression in the background while another story is taking centre stage. It’s certainly better than what Y&R is doing anyways. The only real “story” (if you even wanna call it that) is all about Cane and everything else just seems to get backburned completely. The storyline isn’t even good to begin with so when we do get to see some of the vets like Melody, Eric, Tracey, Christian, Jess, Sharon, Joshua, Michelle, Peter, etc.. their characters all seem to be talking about Cane or involved in that story in some kind of way. I guess there is one other story that is kind of front burner which is the Kyle/Audra stuff but other than that it just feels like nothing else is going on.

I have noticed Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman aren’t participated liked here but I enjoyed their run on Y&R (around 2014). They reunited Nick & Sharon so maybe that’s why I’m slightly biased as a Shick fan, but the overall tone of the show was better. It started to really suck when Chuck Pratt came on board and that’s about when I tuned out. I’m pretty sure Tracey Thomson was involved in both of those writing teams so it’s really hard to know what she had a hand in and what she didn’t..

Today's song was catchy, I liked it haha. Vanessa cannot dance LOL. Smitty was cute with his head roll thing in the background.

I hope Shanice saw the Dani and Andre kiss and throws that in Ashley's face the next time she raises her voice
