An interesting twist would be Hayley has been faking a pregnancy, but turns out to actually be pregnant.

I've been satisified with the Hayley/Ashley scenes... something I've waited for since the early episodes wondering the backstory on Ashley's thoughts on Hayley pre Naomi/Hayley friendship breakdown.

Yeah it's starting to drag, they need to piss or get off the pot lol

Also, Martin's family is now involved and he still refused to tell them anything. Meanwhile, Martin doesn't fully know the secret to begin with, so it is a bit maddening. He wants to protect his family, so tell them they're in danger and why they might be. How dumb is it that Martin knows Kenny is out there and he just lets Samantha go to the park, where Kenny apparently tracked Ty done originally.

I didn't mind the trees as some of you did, but it did bother me that the park was completely empty.

Ashley is right that pregnancy cravings are usually heightened or occur during the second trimester, but as a nurse she should also know that every body is unique and it is not uncommon at all to have cravings happen in the first trimester. As a nurse, she should know that. She was acting like it was impossible. Granted she is suspicious of Hayley at this point, but still seemed weird. Furthermore, Hayley is technically second trimester by now anyway. When she had those cramps with Dani, we learned she is 10 weeks pregnant, so that would mean by now she should be at least 13 weeks or at the start of her second trimester.

It’s been ROUGH. I actually thought he was settling in around mid-May (his best acting was him reading the eff out of Bill in that dream sequence), but the regression has been real. And he’s the lead.

Very rough since day one; he had a few glimmering moments here and there, but it's been bad. Very bad. And right now, to be the lead in a storyline... it's a choice. Wish he'd been recast prior to this.

It’s really bad - he’s doing [bad] sketch comedy acting for what’s supposed to be serious and dramatic. He just doesn’t know any better. This is where an on-set acting coach really helps, which soaps probably can’t afford anymore. For example, Lisa Brown continued to be the acting coach for the younger actors on GL for years after she last played Nola.

I don't necessarily think it's regression. Around the same time that everyone was saying BC was showing growth, I mentioned that he has shown some growth in his more casual scenes, but whenever he needs to give more emotion, it comes across unintentionally funny. Bc needs some work and it's one of the downfalls of giving such green actors such heavy material, because we all get taken right out of the moment.

The same is true for the Chelsea character. I think the way her whole love life is being written is a little ridiculous, but the actress isn't helping either.

You might be right. These past couple of weeks, BC has largely had to play apprehension almost to the point of hysteria, and it hasn’t been landing very well. I feel bad for him, as he seems like he has potential to be a lot stronger and would be well served by some good on-set coaching (which I thought they actually had, but I may have misunderstood). But being foisted into such an emotional story at such a fast pace can be daunting if you’re not seasoned.

I do find the male cast in general to be much weaker than the women, with only Clifton, Timon, and Mike Manning being very good-to-great. Sean and Jibre are fine.

I miss the days when soaps made actors take acting classes, Kelly Ripa talked about that once, said she was very green when she joined AMC and the show made her take acting classes lol

I wish the director would tell him to "underplay" his scenes rather than what he's attempting to do (reaching for something he simply isn't capable of conveying effectively).

Martin is so stubborn and insufferable. The countless amount of times he's refused to tell Smitty anything about his situation is infuriating. I hope he does something really stupid and PUBLIC so that it ruins his career and gives us good drama. However, the best part of this storyline is that it has shown us how great Vernon and Clifton Davis could be for the show. Before this, he barely registered for me.

I had actually considered that there could be a separate thread for "all" current soaps:  Do current soap actors *realistically* have the time to take acting lessons and improve their skills?
And even for seasoned soap actors: are they *realistically* able to keep their skills sharp or do they rely on simply memorizing their lines to get by, not realizing that their acting skills might be slipping?
(I mean Clifton Davis and Tamara Tunie are all in, but it's not always the case on other shows).
Anyhow, topic for a separate thread, if anyone wants to start one.

So did Rebecca Budig when she started at GL. But totally agree.

When Haley ordered the food today at Orphey Gene's, I was just so glad that menu items were being named.  I think I mentioned a few months ago that I wanted to see Orphey Gene's Soul Kitchen's menu mentioned when customers order food, to make it a distinct place and not a generic diner.

Actually, I remember it being said that she was COMPLETELY inexperienced in the art of acting, and she had never done it before. She would've so obviously needed some acting classes before assuming her role as Hayley Vaughn.

So this one known as actor Jermaine Rivers has been eliminated in his role of "Damien" from Y&R.

Is he headed to Fairmont Crest? I got some ideas if he is. 😉

While not a huge day for plot movement, there were some good 1:1 scenes today between Smitty/Jacob, Bill/Vernon, Hayley/Ashley, and also a bit more light being shed on the newest obstacle in Chelsea's quest for love.

Yes. Let's do better. The showrunners aren't. Don't blame ANY actor.
