The Hamilton living room is the worst set on the show. It's cramped and ugly and the wall sconces are always on -why?

I guess the idea is that it is deliberately tacky to illustrate that Hayley is out of her depth trying to fit into Fairmont Gates but it was mentioned she used a designer who surely would have steered her in a better direction.

Wouldn't Bill object to the glitzy decor? He would have some idea on what was appropriate. He would indulge Hayley so far but would he want business associates/friends to come visit. It looks like a Las Vegas hotel room.

If TPTB are smart, the Martin incident storyline will reach its peak during the Articulettes reunion concert tying all the storylines together into one big umbrella story.

I'm expecting a big dud overall just like they've done with everything else. Hype it up to really look like something and then it fizzles due to a lackluster outcome.

Maybe you all can help me, because I am a little confused on the details of this Martin secret - in particular who knows what and how much.

Originally, I assumed that Martin, Vernon, and Anita knew of the secret and were somehow involved based on how hell bent they were about keeping it hidden away for good. This was based on the conversations in the earlier episodes. Then, it was implied that Bill knew the secret based on conversations/threats to Smitty.

I also assumed that the blurry images of the dream where more so to keep the audience unaware of certain details of the secret rather than implying that Martin himself wasn't fully aware of what he was dreaming of. This may have been my mistake, because I guess it could have very well just been Martin not fully understanding what he was dreaming about but then why make it completely blurred out. It also seems weird that he would be so angry at Bill about what he said to Smitty if he doesn't even know the details of this event he is vaguely having dreams about.

Some of my other issues with this is why Martin wouldn't have confided in Smitty about his dreams early on considering Smitty is his partner who he sees everyday and he himself apparently wasn't fully aware of what he was dreaming about to know to keep it secret to begin with. From the start, Martin seemed to want to keep these dreams a secret from Smitty. I always assumed it was because he already knew what it was about but now we have learned otherwise.

It also seems like Martin believed that Vernon himself didnt fully know what the dreams were about based on something of the scenes this week. Clearly, Vernon was keeping details to himself, but why would Martin not want to know what his dream was about and why Vernon would tell him to hide it.

I wonder if I missed something or misunderstood something along the way. I know with any storytelling you just need to accept that things just somehow played out that way, but this isnt one of those instances.

Are you checking for Clifton Davis? 😲

I would like to know who Vernon keeps speaking with on the phone. I believe Ted performed the plastic surgery on Kenny, which is why Kenny ran when Ted entered the country club.

I didn't even think about that. And that line of dialogue Kenny had about how he looked a little different now makes sense.

Well, tbf, it feels intentional as the full picture has not been revealed YET and more than likely (like most of the questions that pop up here to be answered the next day or a few weeks later on the show) will be answered for you next week when they are all in the same room per Next Week's promo at the end of Friday's show.

Clifton Davis is almost 80 and he has aged well.

I now understand why Brandon Claybon kept saying nobody guessed Martin's secret. Friday's episode took this in a direction I wasn't expected but I was pleasantly surprised. So far this is lining up to be 3/3 with reveals on BTG.

I love the prospect of the men all banding together to keep this secret. BTG has been a well welcomed female led show but it's still nice to see the men get in on the action. I also like how they've tied the police story to Martin's secret in addition to Ted and Joey. I have no idea what is coming next and I love that! Seeing Vernon step up has also been nice.

Next week is going to be another dynamic week for them!

Very. Some of those camera angles gave powerful man. And power can be attractive.

These are all good points, and you ask a lot of good questions. I hope this is all explained and makes sense, because I have a hard time understanding how upset Martin is when he's so clueless about what happened.

If Martin did something bad/wrong/criminal, what's with the memory loss? They better have story to back this up.

I just can't with that set. It's SO bad I have no words. Did it look good on paper and then fail in execution? Or, as you said, is it to signify Hayley's lack of taste? If she had a designer -- and they did say she had one -- was the designer limited to the Wayfair Las Vegas Collection?

Cosign on those wall sconces. They're always on, and I cringe every time.

I agree. From appearing like an irrelevant plot point or C plot to a connecting plot thread and VERY important. I cheered when we got the flashback during the Smitty and Jacob scene. Such a BOOM moment as the plots converged on each other.

Same. I cannot wait to see how Ted is tied into all of this. Moreso now that it seems he might actually fight for his marriage with Nicole.

But stakes were raised.

Well, if Friday proved anything, it does seem like it will all tie together. At least in the room meeting of all the men.

What was sending me was seeing Joey in the room! I can't imagine what would make the Duprees team up with him. Makes me wonder if maybe he's not as bad as we've thought?

Yep. I feel like they keep showing us that they know what they're doing and they have a plan. Nothing feels thrown together. We will have to wait and see what happens but I'm going in confident whatever they have planned will land.

I admit that sent me just as much as Joey letting Vanessa see him with the chief of police given his reputation.  Cuz how deep does this secret go that Joey...who they all know has a reputation...is in the room with them? Now that I typed that...was HE who Vernon was on the phone with as the Friday cliffhanger because I will fall out.

I agree. And feel they have not gotten to the place that soaps get to when they are out of ideas and are making it up as they go along. Just look at the amount of times when a plot thread gets cold or a character has been absent for a minute, they (and plot) have always circled back. Example currently: all that stuff with Jacob and Marcel from Month 2 is noooow circling back and also showing how great Smitty is at this job...not realizing he's TOO good because it's now circling back as well to A Story from Week 1...his own husband's secrets. And to go deeper...this all started because Smitty mind you was feeling unfulfilled and wanted to go back to work and Martin was against it because he wanted to keep Smitty at home. So if this all came out because Martin gave in, imagine the fallout for those two and the kids. And Martin has already been established as a hothead as well as arrogant 'I am always right'ish?

Remember when Bill and Haley were on their honeymoon, and Dani got the security guard to let her in, and then she proceeded to trash things and get drunk. Then Dani called Pamela for help repairing/replacing things.  Upon arriving and looking at Bill & Haley's living room, Pamela snarked "is it Glorietta Interiors? You'd  think Bill would get a new designer for the new wife."  From her tone, Pamela clearly thought it was tacky.
