And both actresses playing the other members were good but not dynamic enough to be a major rival/irritant to Anita long term.

I was thinking how Anita could have a housekeeper who would be revealed to be a former co member who fell on hard times and is grateful/resentful of Anita's generosity and success.

I hope when she returns they give us something to do with this story. I do think it would be nice to have an event where we see them perform. I'd have them do the song we saw Anita do with Dani and Naomi and another song that allows all three to perform.

I don't see either of her bandmates becoming regulars but it would be nice to give one of them a tie to the canvas via a child. Maybe that child could move to town and Anita could mentor them as a way to make up for ditching the band. I would just hope the child wouldn't be presented as "bad" since I don't think there were any bad guys in The Articulettes.

"Reaching too high in the back story" is a real thing here, and it was a mistake.

They made Anita a star -- an EGOT winner, for God's sake. Regardless that the Articulettes were hits a few decades ago, any return would be all over the media. An EGOT winner going "back on tour" with the Articulettes?

Maybe that wouldn't play out with a tour like Beyonce's, but they would be able to fill many dates in big venues. Diana Ross is in Europe right now and is getting huge crowds.

Obviously, we're not going to get a huge stadium concert on BTG. That's the problem with reaching too high in the back story. If we get anything, we'll get the Articulettes performing in some intimate club, which doesn't make sense. Any return by a huge group headlined by an EGOT winner would attract attention all over the world.

Bottom line is that I can't believe they didn't see any of this when crafting the story.

They're not touring, though. It's a one-off reunion concert.

God I want some cute mid 30s psychiatrist with abs to dive into Dani's alcoholism and self-destructive behavior and tell her that it's probably suppressed jealousy towards her mother and inferiority complex. I mean... your mother is an EGOT winner and you yourself are an ex-medium-level model. Dani is like these celebrity children that lack the parent's talent and the only thing they are good at... is breakdowns and attention seeking through messy divorces and tabloid scandals. Thank God Anita has Nicole.

Exactly. Anita clearly said the wanted this one time reunion so Sharon and Tracy can receive their flowers.

That all sounds good, but I doubt they're going to make this look real on screen. A one-time reunion from a famous girl group and EGOT winner would still be a big deal.

I can't judge until it actually airs, or not. 

Making Martin a congressman rather than an up and coming politician is another example of a too high reach. I don't believe congressman spend their days at home, in cafes or with their relatives.

And Chelsea having millions of followers.

All unnecessary, as was saying Martin was going to run for the presidency. I know my complaints about reaching too high annoy some people here, but I'd complain about this on other soaps, so I'm going to criticize Gates, too.

I don't agree with all of it, but not annoying at all. I actually prefer to hear real opinions (whether I agree with them or not) rather than pretending everything is perfect. 

A young congressman doesn't bother me. There have been so many real life Representatives that are much younger than Martin (while young Senators are less common than Representatives, it's not rare by any means). However, the running for president thing was completely ridiculous and not only because the soap wouldn't have a means to properly deliver such a story, but just because of Martin's age, the fact that there are millions that go into such a campaign, the influence and what is actually required to run such a campaign successfully. I mean Martin is a gay married man with adopted children - not too long ago that wouldn't be a possibility. His cousin is also queer. Couldn't Martin be advocating for trans rights possibly with his cousin Naomi who could be counseling a trans person - not that a soap would probably want to touch such a story at this point. 

Chelsea having a million followers doesn't bother me. There are many people I know on insta that do [!@#$%^&*] all and have a million followers just for looking pretty. If she was even a semi recognizable model, I can see that for her. Although, I don't know if her portrayl on BTG matches what these girls actually do.

I guess they really should have toned down the success of The Articulettes. Maybe they could have been a one hit wonder with a few other minor hits.

We've already seen Nicole's award gala and the fashion show...the track record isn't looking good. 

Uh one was use as a near miss to build tension on the best storyline. The other...was actually a fun family moment.
