See? This is why I like this show. Chelesa knows she's mad at her dad, but she is smart enough to ask him for legal advice. And Bill wanting to get in good with her...does that. Meanwhile, there is still no love lost between Chelesa and Hayley. And Hayley giving that side-eye does not help her case. She need to quit before Chelesa drags her again like she always does when Hayley wants to start mess.

Ooooh Tomas is starting to get a little frustrated?

Kat/Tomas is giving me shades of Steve/Alice on AW with Eva looking to potentially be playing the Rachel part. 

1)  Rachel/Alice were sister in laws that didn't like one another pre-Steve while Kat/Eva are recently discovered half sisters that don't like one another.

2) Alice kept Steve at arms length in part due to what happened to her sister Pat when she went all the way (abortion and murder trial)... while Kat is keeping Tomas at arms length in part due to the men in mom/aunt's lives cheating on them.

3) Rachel enticed Steve until he succumbs to her advances... Eva has already made one overture to Tomas.. who is remaining strong.. for now.

 

A traditional soap opera trope can be used in 2025 if the acting is good and the character motivations check out.

 

Chelsea/Bill/Hayley were a good combo today.

June and Hayley have to be related... they sound alike and kind of act alike.

 

So hot busboy seems kind of shady... but having Jacob's dad and partner involved in what happened to Martin makes me think perhaps maybe Joey could be involved also?

I think so as well. Which for Joey will be a nice pivot if he is.

 

Looks like June's shockingly expensive looking claws might've been another misstep by the showrunners, unless it was a plot point, but I doubt it.

Smitty is going to discover that all the money that Marcel Malone accumulated did not come from Joey Armstrong, but it was a payoff from Vernon Dupree so Malone would keep his silence on the what happened the night of Martin’s incident.

I could see that.

-- I do not want Joey to be involved in the Martin storyline. Of course, I don't want to see his poverty casino either.

-- When busboy Kenny said "Your people all look alike," I cringed. That was intentional, and I ated it. If BTG wants to tackle racism and racist statements, then do that. This was not it.

     Vernon asked Kenny what he meant, and his response was about the Duprees having a large family. It made no sense, and that made it clear to me that someone just wanted to throw the "your people" insult into the script for no good reason.

     I expect better from this show.

-- I'm not sold on this actor playing Kenny. Did Tyler Perry do the casting for all the white boys on this show?

-- Smitty and Tyrell were good together. The kid playing Tyrell is excellent playing a teen with smarts.

-- I have no problem with Kat going slow burn with Tomas, but can their kisses look a little more real and passionate? Those closed-lips kisses don't work.

@Soaplovers Yes, I noticed the Alice/Steve/Rachel coloring. I believe some other posters mentioned it too. I also thought the anniversary party was like a modern take on Rachel crashing Steve and Alice's engagement party.

Has it ever been said that Kat was waiting for a ring before giving up the goodies?

I really hope that BtG doesn't go the prized virgin heroine becomes a rape victim route with Kat like Y&R did with Cricket and B&B did with Caroline. At least As the World Turns didn't have Lily raped, but Lily rushed into her first time and I also hope Kat doesn't rush into her first time.
