I just got home from work and will take a look at today's show in a bit.

However, I was thinking about Silk Press Sheila and wondering if she would try to suck up to Mona... and thought to myself only someone suffering from delulu would try to suck up to Mona (Jan, I sort of understood why she tried).. and seeing that SPS is just delulu enough to suck to Mona makes me chuckle.

I understand that Derek/Ashley are not end game (just like how on B & B when it started that Brooke/Dave were not end game)... but the show is going about this coupling in all the wrong ways.  Since the show seems to operate from a place of misandry, the way they're writing this Derek/Ashley conflict makes Ashley the bad one.

I would have had the conflict rooted in two things:

1) Andre/Ashley's continued friendship.. which would have made Dani a bit jealous if she came across the two chatting and continued to make Derek left out/jealous

2) Derek/Hayley had good chemistry in terms of rapport so I would have had a couple of more scenes of the two running into one another out and about.  Perhaps she and Caroline could have been having a work lunch at Orphey Jean's.. and Derek comes in to get an order for his fellow crew.. and the two have a brief chat.  Maybe establish the two running into one another at Uptown while she waits for Bill and he waits for Ashley and/or Jacob.   And eventually Naomi or Jacob come across the two talking and they alert Ashley.

That way the two would a legit argument over their jealousy over the others platonic interaction with someone of the opposite sex.

Just my two cents... and it would give Hayley something to do outside her continual 'honeymoon' with Bill.

I have some catching up to do, so I'll come back with more later, but I am watching yesterday's episode...

Andre/Derek/Ashely have not sat well with me since day 1, and I can't believe I'm going to say this...but if two had to go, I would pick Ashley and Andre. I cringed at Andre blowing smoke up Ashley's ass and making it seem like she couldn't possibly have done anything wrong to drive Derek away and that if he was in Derek's place, he would never walk out on Ashley because Ashley is just so flawless

Like whhhhaatttt? The girl is sitting there with a mountain of tissues crying over a basic argument that she could easily pick up the phone and end. Sean Freeman's acting choices bother me a bit...they have from the beginning which makes me dislike the character even more. I don't get Andre's obsession with an overgrown "Miss Perfect" like Ashley. Ashley reminds me of the good girl that grew up super sheltered and tried to do well at everything and wanted everything to be a certain way. She's bland. Mama is as spicy as warm milk yet Andre is all over that. Then he's always exhaling that last word and scrunching up his nose and pouting his lips in his Mr. Rogers sweaters and it just makes me mad.

Aw Hell no...not Silk Press Sheila trying to suck up to Mona.

Yaayyyy!!! Nosy Nurse!!!

NICOLE!!!

Andre looking FOINE in that vest.

NOPE to NuTed in that coat.

Tbf that started off that way. I do wonder if that will continue to be an issue going forward.

Same. I really would love if it kept going.

Tracy's scenes were after June's. Interesting.

Just a guess, but Anita was probably to Dante what Diana Ross was to Berry Gordy.

Leslie just steps up the crazy each episode. Why was she stealing things out of the hotel room?

On a technical note, is Keith wearing the clothes that Maurice wore? That jacket was huge on him and clearly the wrong size. I'm surprised production would let anyone go onscreen looking like that.

They might be doing that until they get a clothing budget for wardrobe that fits Keith.  It has happened a couple of times on the other shows.

Louise Shaffer in an interview said that she took over from another actress on SFT back in the 60s and wore only one or two items of clothing for a few weeks because the budget for new wardrobe hadn't come available/approved.

I do agree that Maurice played Ted as more cocky/suave.. and aggressive when opposite SPS (Leslie/Dana)... and maybe the show figured a more sedate/remorseful Ted was what the show was looking for.

Oooo Kat playing the tape for Nicole and NuTed!!! And I like this discussion between NuTed and Nicole. Play them beats in this. At least, NuTed is coming through with common sense.

Wow...Silk Press Sheila really is delulu.

Nice to have the reminder that Derek and Ashley have been dating for TWO years.

DEAD at nasty a$$ chair.

    • I don't think Josh Swickard's voice is horrible or anything, but the show makes it seem like he could just casually take up a singing career if he felt like it because he's that talented.  He's not.  I am not sure he would even be able to be a backup singer on Broadway or in most bands. I thought DZ was the worst of all the dancers, but adorably so.  You could tell this wasn't in DZ's wheelhouse and it was fun.  On the very light-hearted end of the Nurses Ball shindig.  Gio Mazza continues to impress.  What a find.  It's a shame it took the show an entire year to give him any meaty material.  While Joss was off playing spy games on air way too long.
    • Today was excellent soap. I had no problem with GM’s performance. I watch soaps for big dramatic blowups like that. What a great cliffhanger. God I’m so ready for all of Drew’s misdeeds to come out. He is so damn slimy. Also I hope absolutely no one is there for Willow’s dumb ass when this all blows up. As everyone has pointed out Tracy would never be stupid enough to just leave ketamine sitting in her car. PCPD continues to be complete morons.
    • Well, I'll say this much...I've been gone for months and my first tune in...nice to see FOINE Isaiah as the first image I saw.   And I'm actually impressed by how much Drew is running/scheming/manipulating everything and everyone in sight. Cuz he's teamed up with TRACY now? TRACY??? Who he was slapsticky feuding with months ago. And seems to have a countermove for every person against him now...which now takes up almost all the whole canvas vs just a limited part of it months ago.    He really has risen to...mmmm not quite Stefano Dimera evil...yet...but Mitch Laurence manipulation?? That's quite a leap in three months. Again...impressed.
    •   Josh Swickard has a more than passable voice. His performance of "Smooth Criminal" a few years ago showed he has talent. But damn, this wasn't it. That song (a Swickard original?) was lame and awful, and the accompaniment by 3 non-professional dancers was...a choice. The entire thing was pretty cringe and a big YIKES. As for Dominic Zamprogna, I thought he was the BEST of the 3 dancers. JK and SW were stuck onstage without a net.   -- The Gio reveal was great soap. The Nurses Ball backdrop was the perfect place for that to happen, and reason enough for the NB to exist. I'll take that kind of cliffhanger any day of the week.     Lots of comments here about GM getting too loud and dramatic, but I like the choice, and I think it worked. It played against type. Gio was onstage performing, and he gave us a real performance.      We seem to love all the soap traditions being brought back to life on BTG, but when GH does it with the violin smashing, then it's too much? That scene gave us a moment.   For me, I can put aside how many rootable characters are on a soap when the drama is good -- and I think we're getting good drama. And isn't Gio rootable? Emma? Liz? Dante was rootable until he went on a "Destroy Gio" tour the past couple weeks. Besides, it depends on your definition of "rootable." I think Tracy is rootable even though she is deeply flawed and makes a lot of mistakes.
    • Same. I didn't want to jump in until the writing change, but I got busy. I've been doing other things, but I've been really enjoying DAYS today so far. And grateful my internet is going great. And highlight today was seeing Dr. Marlena Evans for the first time in years. Oh, how I've missed her. Still am not ready for John though. I know I'm going to be a mess.

GH...I was feeling nostalgic for the Nurses Ball and I liked the promo for it. So I figured I can push down my dislike of The Writer Who Shall Not Be Named enough to tune in. For a week at least. lol. It seems like...from the few comments I choose to look at cuz...no spoilers but that one hehe...it is going to be a good but fun event. And let's be real...we know I want to see the Carly slap...looooong time coming.
    • Thurs sees Lily and Damian at GCAC spending an entire episode talking. Nate and Audra at Society talking-but wait Kyle and Claire arrive, so they have someone else to talk to for the entire episode. Amanda at CL talking to Devon and Abby for the entire episode.  The Young in the Restaurants continues...
    • And it also could've played into Dani's characterization as well, with her being the middle child.
    • Awwwwww Gio

The violin smash was a little bit much though  But he blew me away in the rest of his scenes. He played the anger and devastation so well. GM is definitely as talented an actor as he is a musician. In terms of acting, this really was like his first chance to shine and he shined pretty brightly. And on his birthday too no less lol maybe he can be the next Nicholas Chavez. He definitely acted circles around another younger actor, who's subpar AF but is constantly shoved down our throats like she's Meryl Streep  I can't wait for tomorrow to see what happens for him, for Dante/Brook Lynn, for Lois, Lulu, Emma, etc. Hopefully, Lulu gets a slap or a punch, at least. And yeah, can this show stop f*cking mentioning Stone, please? After what they did to Jagger, they have no right to even speak his name anymore
    • I’m doing both as well. I have all of May to catch up on with Days but it’s been so enjoyable post RC I’m actually excited.
