GH: May 2025 Discussion Thread

I didn't hand wave all the inaccuracies in the story, and I wasn't dismissive. I just disagreed and explained why. I clearly stated that I understood why some people have problems with the story and that I get it.

I did say I was surprised about all the negativity regarding the story, but that's not dismissing those concerns or hand waving them away. I offered another viewpoint, that's all.

The last few episodes have been good; the acting, the emotions. It's nice to see that GH can still do classic soap opera. I do wish that they would respect their long term audience more and do it without all the silly rewrites though. And where do they go from here?

I'm a bit pessimistic and fully expect the show to go back to the drama-less, boring mess it usually is. I'm giving it a month, tops.

They need to put this new Michael on frontburner every day for as long as they can.  They also need to bring in a new love interest (or many) for him.  Give this actor as much material as possible, please!

I hope this Drew-Michael nephew-uncle rivalry goes on for the long haul.  I was worried they were leading up to a Drew murder mystery, but that would prematurely end some great long-term soapy storytelling.  The Quartermaines don't need any more dead family members, either.

I've got to say GH is the soap I'm enjoying the most right now, followed closely by Days.

I can't wait for Willow's world to come crashing down on her. She is one stupid hoe. To choose Drew over her children is despicable.

I'm loving Rory Gibson as new Michael.

I have no idea why Gio would go to Sonny first since he told Emma he thought Sonny knew about him all along.

Maybe to clarify if Sonny knew?  Considering Sonny didn't know Dante was his son back then it doesn't really matter.

I am sure Sonny will make some wise parallel about his father leaving and his mother dying or being lied to by Olivia and Gio will see the light.

Karen Valentine, Ben Savage (as Sam), Fran Drescher, Tim(othy) Stack, Kiersten Warren, Christopher Castile (as Fran's son!), and Ray Walston as Grandpa, plus featured guest Kurt Fuller. (God bless the producers who upload their busted pilots.)

I can't believe how many different interactions we got in today's episode. Many we hadn't gotten before or for the longest time.   Everyone looked so young in their flashback scenes with John.   Great to see Will again! Chandler looked so damn hot!   It's going to be interesting to see Will be at his former lovers wedding.

    • -- That accent Cady McClain is using is awful, and it was especially bad in her first scene. Make it stop. -- I agree with all the good and all the bad about Dani, but I do not want Andre to get swept up in her craziness. He deserves better. -- "Better" for Andre is not Ashley. The crazy thing is that the Andre/Dani and Andre/Ashley stories seem to be a part of separate universes. -- The jewelry guy (Adam) who sat with Dani and Pamela had my gaydar pinging. -- I will say the writers are working overtime to make us know Dani and Andre "aren't really related." -- I don't think Leslie will be arrested next week. I think Eva is going to remove the evidence -- that motorcycle helmet -- from the apartment, and that they'll find nothing on the search. -- That wig on Sharon is rough. Wow.

    • I never liked Reva, either the first time around, or the second. My issue for the first go round was that Reva dominated the show, which was a shame because I didn't like the character.  Loud, insecure, narcissistic "look at me", "here I am, entertain me" individuals irritate me in real life.  It wouldn't have mattered to me who portrayed the character...Zimmer or someone else. Reva is a character inherently inimical to the idea of ensemble.   Post 1995, Reva was no longer a character, but a device.

    • I know I have heard Orpheus mention it, at least in passing.  I still don't know why exactly he hates John though.  It seems Orpheus was heavily leaning into a Stefano moment of Marlena obsession, but then he always wanted to murder her a bunch so it's unclear.
    • I always thought that whoever pitched his return story in 2016 just didn't do their homework, and didn't know that the real Roman was the one who killed Orpheus' wife.
    • Xander is Victor's son, but thought he was his nephew until Victor's will.  His mom is an alcoholic who ran Sarah down then left town.  He's got a kid with Sarah and then is related to the rest of the Kiriakis brood. I would argue Orpheus lost his purpose years ago.  I lost the plot with Orpheus when his entire beef was with John and not Roman.  The person who actually killed his wife. Too be kind I'll just say it looks like Chandler was a bit out of practice at the old acting game.  He's never stopped smirking.
