Interestingly enough, this wouldn't be the craziest SORAS'ing we've seen. Arianna was born in 2013. At least they cast a Latina actress and not a blonde hair blue eyed actor like they did when the character before.

They did that one WAAAAAY too fast. It's prevented them from bringing the characters back because it would just look ridiculous. I think they even mentioned Maddie being in GRAD SCHOOL!

Well, we'll see how she reads on screen. That's a red carpet look with a lot of make up. She might end up looking quite a few years younger with more subtle make up and a bit more dressed down, especially as she's only 21 irl.

As thoughtful commentators, we’re all comfortable discussing the nuances of age as a relevant topic when reacting to casting news.

That said, I would gently suggest that reposting a young actress’s social media to initiate commentary on her appearance or perceived age feels misaligned with the standards of discourse we've cultivated.

We all understand the paradox: of course it’s acceptable—even expected—to discuss how actors look; this is visual storytelling, after all. But there’s a meaningful difference between critiquing a performance in the abstract and directing commentary toward a specific person’s account, especially one belonging to a 21-year-old navigating public life.

You already know how easily young women online become targets of inappropriate attention. We can absolutely continue to engage in substantive, even critical, discussion—just perhaps not by holding the mirror quite so close to the subject. Personally, I think there's a line between copy and pasting a pic from Insta, and reposting the actual link to the account, because it makes it too easy for malcontents and misanthropes.

While the issue is sound, there is nothing wrong with constructive criticism of an actor or actress regarding how they look, primarily on the show, or even how their real-life look might impact the character they play or will play in the future. Even their age can/should be subject to comment, as it can play a part in one's belief in their casting for a role, which is likely based on a specific age. Additionally, if age shouldn't be a factor/discussed, Hollywood should stop including that line in their casting calls when they seek actors for key roles.

An example of this would be Beyond the Gates. The show portrays Dani and Bill as having been married for 30 years and having two adult daughters, making them at least 49 years old at the time of the show's premiere. Meanwhile, their portrayers don't look that old and aren't exactly that age. Ironically, some of their younger characters are played by much older actors. Therefore, I do not see anything wrong with fans discussing these matters, unless, of course, it's specifically done in a manner that is negative or disparaging to an individual.

As for sharing posts from social media, I'm sorry, I completely disagree with you here.

I pay for bandwidth and storage fees to manage this website. I should not be burdened with having to pay more to host publicly available content shared on the servers of billion-dollar companies by individuals of voting and legal drinking age who posted the content themselves on said platforms. There is also the legal aspect of someone re-posting the content in general, as videos, for instance, are subject to copyright.

Embedding or linking to social media posts is the preferred method for any content shared on the message boards that originated on social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky, X (formerly Twitter) and the like.

I will say, though, sharing a screengrab from an episode of one of the shows for episode discussion purposes is no different than sharing a social media post. Anything one says on the internet, particularly in the public space, is subject to a response. We might not agree on that, but that is my stance on the matter.

Lastly, if someone enters the business of acting and can't handle the response by the consumers they expect to make money off of as part of their careers, they should rethink their profession. This business is cutthroat, and they will endure so much more than a fan on this message board criticising them for their looks. Mind you, I don't think I've seen anyone here do that in a negative sense.

If I misunderstood, I will say linking to one's social media is fine. However, this is a message board, and to respond to a topic, you need to see the material. This is why I've been re-publishing the articles on the main SON website on the message boards. When I only linked to the article, no one commented on it. Engagement is a huge part of why the SON Community is successful. If only linked to other websites without providing any context whatsoever, we'd be a dead board walking. I'm not saying that full articles from other websites or images should be lifted from other websites, far from it, I'm just saying that just linking to something without giving people a broader understanding or context would be problematic. 

If I still misunderstood after all of the above. Please clarify.

The reason I posted a photo (via imgur) and not the entire IG post, was because it was from a batch of photos by R.B. within a single IG post.  The other pics within the IG post were not relevant to DAYS.  So I posted here only the one pic relevant to DAYS.

FYI, Marissa Reyes has her birthdate and her IG address on her public IMDB profile. She is 21.
Jason47 website's cast bios pages list actor birthdates -- Ashley Puzemis and Rachel Boyd are both 24. 

Holly was born onscreen 12/21/2016. 
Sophia is a new character, but is a classmate of Holly, so approximately the same age.
Arianna was born onscreen 5/21/2013, so technically would be slightly older, but that could change.

When Arianna was elementary school age, she was shown as friends with Holly.  I don't think their ages were specified at that time, but they were friends. They used to hang out at the Kiriakis mansion with Maggie and Sonny.  They had an encounter in Horton Town Square at Halloween with Nicole and Gabi. 

I posted the photo mainly to show Ms. Reyes with AP and RB.  I  didn't specify this, but this was giving me reason to *speculate* that perhaps Arianna might possibly be SORAS'd to be in the same agegroup as Holly and Sophia?   But I realize that it was an offset social event, so perhaps none of that is relevant and it's simply a fun photo.

To be fair, we know it really doesn't matter when someone is born on DAYS as their SORAS has been all over the place, plus I suspect they might care more about how it ages Gabi / Will at this point (I think that's why they avoided SORASing Will despite it being rumoured for ages; same with Shawn D). As I said, I kind of hope they don't age her to more than 16, but I'm guessing they might do 18 since that's Holly's age and they're probably trying to build an age group where Doug3 (21-ish?) can be included.
