Better on B&B

That said...I feel it's a case of great actress, stuck with stupid writing. I like she finally has a great friendship with the character Audra, both women with ambition who don't mind scheming to get what they want. While she did not fit when she started on Y&R, she definitely fits in much better now. The greatest relationship was with Adam...who she broke it off with and barely interact with now though. Currently in a rebound(?) relationship with the whiny Billy Abbott. Ugh.

Possible SPOILER-ish question below...

Scroll on by, if you wish.

Okay, does this dude even know Phyllis and Sharon?  Does he know their history?  Why would he be the person to trap them together in a room for days, so they could work out their relationship issues?  Has he even had scenes with either of them?  Other than him being a nut, there seems to be no organic reason for him to be their kidnapper.

3-11

Another good start to the week though I do have mixed feelings. But that's because it's clear that the A story is going to be Sharon, The Giggly Heffa, and Saw-mazing Adventures, the B story is the Claire/Kyle/Summer triangle, and the Damian storyline appears to be the C plot with Amy off canvas...for now. And I've mentioned my worries about the writing when the Damian storyline isn't the dominant storyline. That said...so far, it's been pretty balanced out, so I'm not annoyed, dealing with characters I don't completely dislike. And a few new dynamics, too.

Is it wrong that I was 'die, heffa, die' at Phyllis's poisoning? lol. Because that is how I felt. I found the writing annoying as a writer AND a SAW fan, but again what little that has been saving this story has been the chemistry between SC and MS. And there were some interesting interaction. And I kinda liked the riddle, but watching it somewhat I kept trying to think who would kidnap them. And the theme...forgiveness. Who do they have in common outside of sleeping partners? Cuz I am sure everyone is tired of their rivalry. So if today is the day when there is a rival of who it is...well I might see it before BTG...but I don't do the show live so it will be waiting regardless. Right now, I'm thinking Cameron is alive after all off the coda in yesterday's episode with the captor's convo with Sharon, but we will see.

Meanwhile, I admit that I was not expecting Billy and Nick to come to a meeting of the minds. Those two?? I was also surprised at a Victoria sighting because I was just thinking we have not seen her in two weeks or more? And I was like 'finally' when Chance told everyone that the police got proof that the ladies had been kidnapped. FINALLY...MOVEMENT.

So...Summer is finally making her play, too. And AL is playing it to the hilt now and giving vixen versus being whiny and beside herself about it. I don't like the storyline, but I like whiny Summer even less. A scheming Summer is one I have always gotten behind, so I liked watching the little ways she was making in-roads with Kyle. Using her worry about her mother. Interrupting every which way she could any dates Kyle and Claire go on. Her little 'ooh, it looks like Claire found someone' to Kyle. And...IT'S WORKING. Cuz Kyle sure did go to that bar with his body language and marking territory self. Summer walked off with her cat that ate the canary self. Not the way I wanted it to go, but as long as Summer is played as a vixen...I'm down. I'll be more down for it...when Claire allows her own claws to come out...which was also my biggest worry about JG doing a Summer/Kyle/Claire triangle when Summer was perfectly happy with Chance.

And yes, I did like the new potential wrinkle of moving Holden into the Summer/Kyle/Claire triangle. Holden and Claire had nice chemistry. And it's a way to keep the actor around after the drama he will more than likely cause for Nate and Audra is done.

And...Audra, Audra, Audra. Le sigh. She had yet another chance to tell Nate the complete truth about Holden. Nate was right there and talking to her about Amy being gone for a while. He asked her again directly. Audra is still deflecting. Nate is still suspicious. Still, I really enjoyed their scenes as I love the relationship. And it continues to give Audra layers. Like when she was talking to Nate about how close she's grown to Amy and expressing her worry for Amy now that she's out of town and will not be immediately coming back after treatment, but heading to her hometown. Awwww Audra got a mother figure. Those were good scenes.

Cautiously optimistic for the week now that there appears to be movement in most of the stories.

Oh and wardrobe has been some glaring misses this week so far.

Poor Traci…

I hope there’s some sort of explanation, because I really don’t like the twist…Griffith manages to even mess up couples that barely get screentime…

    • Okay...I'm just going to call it. Ambyr Michelle is the breakout star of this show with the young set hands down! There is no character like Eva that pulls my heart strings, and she's playing it perfectly. If Eva and Leslie are on, it's a good episode! If written properly, Eva and Kat's rivalry is one that could go on for YEARS. Of course, it's fun to speculate about who is really whom, but I could see them developing as frenemies after some time. They really need a guy to tussle over to amp it up. Tomas is pretty, but the actor has got to loosen up some in his scenes, I think. He is improving though. It would be good to introduce a new young man in that story for a foursome.  Martin and Smitty finally feel like a real couple to me, too.
    • I'll be that guy and say I don't think TMG is a fool. This is a popular contract role on a year-round soap opera for a woman of a certain age (to say nothing of a woman of color). If I'm her I pull a Kimberlin Brown and ride this til the wheels fall off.
    • Tbf it's not unusual for a family when they are dealing with some bad news that changes a life to use song to give out hope.Especially black families. I personally had to deal with that very thing this weekend. Partly off putting, but at the same time, I did get the point and it gave me a bit of hope in the moment.      MM is definitely acting. But Smitty is just so passive. It could turn into quiet strength at some point, but for now...passive IMO.
    • Am I remembering correctly that the Madison's lived in a Spanish revival-style house? I have a vague recollection of the fireplace looking especially Spanish in style. It is unusual that Montecello had so many architectural styles.  Obviously, that might occur IRL.  But, look at other east coast soaps and there is a definitive style that is throughout (because it was styled by a set decorator) regardless of the income of the occupants.
    • @kalbir MSW was a powerhouse for CBS. Angela Lansbury was a superb actress. In 1985, TV viewers were tiring of the primetime soaps and the like. People wanted storytelling and MSW was great at that and had great guest stars. Storytelling -- an amazing and novel concept. CBS Daytime by 1985 was beating ABC so CBS was on the upswing.
    • I'd say just the opposite - conflict means they will find out and then be at odds. For the limited amount of time people on this show have conflict (if they aren't named Nina or Ric, I guess).
    • Totes mcgoats (aka I agree). But, now the character needs to move forward.  Clyde's exit was 12/11/24.  It is May.  She and Chad have been on one date. I don't think they've slept together. And she was only planning on sticking around for a year.
    • That is one of the best insults I've heard in a long time.  I burst out laughing when Kat called Eva that.  LOL Their scenes, of course, were really good.  Colby and Ambyr have so much chemistry.  The only thing I'd change is Kat saying "you're dead to me."  That's a phrase usually said about someone you care about.  I would've preferred something like "You will never be my sister," or something similar to that.  Nice contrast at the end with both mothers/daughters:  Kat comforting/consoling her mother, and Eva being locked out by her mother.  Yeah, I wasn't a big of fan of the singing either, especially after your daughter's life has been destroyed.  What?  LOL And I also agree with those that thought Dana/Leslie's scenes with the Dupree's didn't feel right since Eva is not a Dupree....unless she is.  But as of right now, she's not.
    • Trisha Mann-Grant, Ambyr Michelle, Sean Freeman are destined for bigger and better things. They need to move on as soon as their initial contracts are done.
