Luckily, the two clowns that are responsible for that revolting mess aren’t writing for Days anymore.

Yeah, the new writers have plenty of mess to clean up. Ron has ruined so many characters in his tenure that I don't know if any of them can be salvaged at this point.

They can't.

Even if the wardrobe never improves at least they could TRY to improve the sets. I also agree that they need to stop doing the whole adventure stuff and just focus on family drama and psychology like they did in the 70s; they need to go back to that type of story-telling because that's apparently they can all afford at this rate. Sometimes I ask myself why is this show on Peacock because if this show is going to look this horrid and written this horribly, it should've just stayed on NBC and it wouldn't have made a difference.

1. They got the only increase in decades from Peacock. NBC cut the budget every single year until they had it where it was half of what it had begun with.

2. They have more creative freedom at Peacock.

3. Peacock spent some money on the show. Bought new cameras. Invested in green screen. They paid to use a flashback with Jensen Ackles as younger Eric. NBC would never have done so.

4. It was highly likely that NBC was going to cancel the show. Probably not that year but very possibly one of the next 3 years.

5. Peacock gave the show a 2 year pick-up, not just one.

Honestly I really don't know why Theresa's being brought back, especially if it's for only one or two episodes. If all she is going to do is give her blessing on the adoption or whatever, then what's the point? Like she could've just left prison off-screen and we would've found out via a phone call Brady gets from Andrew and nobody would've given a crap. I mean, this return accomplishes absolutely nothing. Also, Theresa is so far removed from the canvas anyway and she's appeared so infrequently over the last 6-7 years that she's pretty much irrelevant as a character as a point.

I thought she was irrelevant when she was last on. And, they persisted in putting her in that awful wig.

As to offing her, I have no opinion. Wait I do. Before killing Theresa I have a long list I'd rather see dead & buried! Priorities, you know.

If that's the case, then maybe it's time to cancel this show. The 60th year would be a good time to just end it at this point.

I’m still attached to quite a few actors and characters, I’d rather see what the new writers do before having a soap I’ve watched continuously for 20+ years get canceled due to RC.

Days was uploaded at 5 today! Hopefully, it continues to be. That being said, today was a short one. Only 31 minutes.

I’m actually a little surprised that Emily O’Brien is back, after the horrible and disgusting way that both of her characters were written. I understand that a paycheck is a paycheck but goddamn. But I am glad that the character of Theresa is back. There was still a lot of story to be told. A lot more for Theresa then there is for Gwen, even though I wouldn’t mind a Theresa recast. And I did like the scenes between her and Tate. The relationship between the two of them was one of the very few good things about EOB as Theresa. And with any luck, Theresa being on the canvas again will lead to Andrew having a much bigger part as well 😊

Ava was kind of pitiful though. Like, why was she so afraid of this old bag? If it were me, I would’ve been stomping on her head two seconds after I saw her lol but again EJ being such a campy bitch about everything was not necessary. Same can be said for Rafe/Jada when they confronted him.

Holly and Doug III were sort of in the same boat as Ava. Why didn’t they just rip the necklace off Melinda’s neck? It’s not like she could go to the police. But I like that Holly was still so determined to get the necklace back. Her and Doug III teaming up could be good, and cause good conflict for her and Tate, which could cause good conflict for him, Sophia and the baby.

All the evil characters on this soap are written so cartoonishly with no consequences.

Doug continues to be a cutie pie.

Why did Holly apologize to Melinda?

Great seeing Melinda back, but she didn't learn her lesson.

Of all people, she bought the necklace. Lord!

Loved seeing Theresa again.

I'm glad that Theresa's aware that Brady may never forgive her for the incident with Victor's will. And I honestly don't think he should. I'm surprised that he even allowed her to hug him.

I'm even more surprised that Theresa doesn't actually want Tate to give the baby away. I figured that with her being so horrified and appalled at potentially becoming a grandmother, that she would want Tate to get rid of the baby as soon as it's born.

Today's episode was short. 31mins

Wonder why

With 33 Ron episodes left, these shows (starting with 3/4) were filmed in July after a three week hiatus in June (according to Jason47 prod schedule website). I think Ron was out the door at end of June. But, no matter, I would think Paula/Jean and the producers edited out Ron crap they didn't want to play. Just my guess.

Makes sense

Melinda is fine wearing a stolen necklace?  Isn't she afraid of looking like a fool if a Horton sees her wearing it?

Also, does this mean that Leo knows Melinda has the necklace and called her?  Because how else would she know that Doug3 wants it?

He would've much smarted to play dumb and accuse Melinda of stealing it, like she stole Nicole's baby.  People in Salem would've believed it.

Or at least rewrote it.

There does seem to have been a little more care and sensitivity about certain things lately.

Maybe it's just my perception because of the upcoming change, but Friday and today's especially felt different, for the better. More serious, a little deeper. Things with Rachel Blake seemed to be explained a little better. She hates the DiMeras again and Kristen made sure to mention she's lost her damn mind. But I was with you, if I was Ava, I would have thrown hands on the old bat. I noticed with the actress being Australian, she seemed to struggle with the word displeasure, which I found amusing. I do hope she gets a scene with Marlena before she's (hopefully) written out. And even though EJ/Kristen shouldn't have a brother/sister relationship (it should be much more twisted) the actors have great scene partner chemistry with each other. Me of 10 years ago would slap me across the face, but I'm going to officially say I'm an EJ fan. Love to hate the bastard.

Tina Huang was fun as Melinda today, too. You could tell Holly is dickmatized and she doesn't even know it. I bet she's seen those videos online ... iykyk.

Gwen wondering if she could get a hug from Brady came off so weird. Once he left, EOB settled into the role much better. Of course, that horrible wig was doing everything it could to ruin her scenes. I'm excited to see how Theresa muddles everything up this time. The line I bought the most as Theresa being a mother to Tate was when he basically said she was messed up too and she called him out on it. The adults are acting more like adults, ever so slightly. And Tate really felt like a teenager today, too. I'm hanging to the hope that's it's a good sign of things to come.
