I'm trying to identify all the soap opera characters who went on trial for murder two different times.  So far, I have the following:

GH - Jesse Brewer: ____ Prentice and later, Phil Brewer

AW - Pat Randolph: Tom Baxter and later, Greg Barnard

EON - Martha Marceau: Unknown character and later, Taffy Simms

Is anyone aware of other characters in this unique situation?

Oh,  very good additions!

I was just about to post these same three, so you saved me the trouble!😉

I just wanted to note that Dr.________Prentice's first name was John.

I wish I could remember the name of the first character on TEON whom Martha was accused of killing.

Sami on Days.

For the murder of Franco Kelly. And then years later for the murder of Stefano’s dirty cop.

Wasn't it Rick Oliver? I wasn't watching back then, but I seem to remember reading about Rick.

OMG, yes! Rick Oliver was shot and killed in 1967 and Martha Marceau was accused of the crime. The real killer turned out to be Laura Hillyer.

Thank you for refreshing my cloudy memory!

The ladies in these ads are so familiar to me - I'm not sure if it's from soaps or something else.

The dark haired lady in the Charmin commercial looks like Joanne Worley, but doesn't sound like her.

Thanks. I thought it was Joanne too but soon realized it wasn't.

@jam6242 @vetsoapfan @SoapDope78 Sorry to tag you, just wondered if you knew any of these women.

Can't identify the actresses. Wasn't it the case that many performers were primarily commercial actors as it was a mini industry in itself and landing some good commercials guaranteed a healthy income?

So any other acting jobs they might land was merely extra income rather than their primary goal?

In the Joy commercial, the actress who plays the young woman returning home is Jeanne Ruskin. She replaced Emily Prager as Laurie Ann Karr on The Edge of Night and played that role from 1973 to 1975.

I don't recognize any of the other actresses.

Thank you!

This is probably more suited to the EON thread if you think we should move it there, but what did you think of each Laurie Ann?

Emily Prager was the best adult Laurie Ann in my opinion.  She played the young ingenue during the Keith Whitney/Jonah Lockwood plot.  I don't think I remember Jeanne Ruskin in the role.  But I do remember disliking Linda Cook as Laurie Ann.  Cook was a good actor, but miscast as Laurie Ann. Cook just did not have the innocence or the ingenue quality that the role deserved.

Thanks. I've only ever seen Cook, and even that just in bits and pieces.

I believe the money is good if you don't  have a series or a movie career but it's hard to limit yourself to commercial work unless you become the face of a campaign. If you appear in too many different ads other companies will typically feel that the audience has seen too much of you already and won't want you cast. I think most actors in commercials who aren't recognizable are either mostly working in theatre (including standup/improv as well as straight plays) or auditioning for TV/film.
