Co-head or consultant isn't good enough. Griffith HAS to go to make any change worth it.

If they went with JFP & Bob Guza as their team in charge, the Young & the Restless would be the somewhat elite "Out Of Retirement" Cream of the Crop? Or put another way, The Best Ever From the Past?

LOL And you know this...how?

From talking to her. It’s not hard to figure out why I would make a bold statement. The rumors crack me up.  She’s not there to be the EP. That ship sailed.

My guesses are Josh Griffith leaving Y&R or Ron leaving BTG, maybe Liz Korte and/or Chris Van Etten finally leaving GH. Doubt it’ll ever be Bradley Bell or shockingly MVJ leaving BTG

unless this isn’t about a HW

I don't see how they could keep quiet about Griffith leaving both roles; I don't think it's him.  The ratings are slightly up and they made a big deal out of this crappy Dumas plot and to fire him before his contract is up in December is unlikely given how long he's been there and the power he has had. I'd love to see him retire to McTavish's cat farm or the Higley's Florida compound....but I don't want to get my hopes up. I do think this news is about either RC or RGJr. Guza is 71 years old and we see how hiring a vet in their 70s (Patrick Mulchahey) worked out for GH. I can see Guza coming in to Y&R as a consultant or co head. But it's the dreaded Ron who is in his 50s and has always had the backing of soap execs (except in over his head Varni) who I never believed would be content as a breakdown writer long term.

(this was posted by me before Ron put out a statement):
Ron Carlivati OUT At ‘Beyond The Gates,’ Plus More Writing Changes At Daytime Drama Series
Ron Carlivati has exited “Beyond the Gates” as a breakdown writer. Also exiting the soap are writers Lynn Martin and Christopher Dunn; Jazmen Darnell Brown announces return to the writing team.

Yes @Errol had the scoop!
Errol posted his article about BTG writer changes including Carlivati,
at 12:37pm PDT, July 18.
Carlivati announced on instagram stories at 3:00pm PDT, July 18, which was at same time as Deadline article at 3:01pm PDT. (While the IG story was still up on RC's account, I checked the sourcecode of the timestamp of his IG story).

@Errol

The immediate names I can think of are:

  • Jeff Beldner, currently at The Young and the Restless. Won five Daytime Emmys; three for All My Children, 1996–1998 and two for As the World Turns, 2001–2002.
  • James Harmon Brown, currently at The Young and the Restless. Won two Daytime Emmys: one for Guiding Light in 1993 and Days of Our Lives in 2012.
  • Charlotte Gibson, currently at General Hospital. Has won four Daytime Emmys: 1998 with All My Children, 2004 and 2005 with As the World Turns, and 2007 with Guiding Light.
  • Michael Minnis, currently at The Bold and the Beautiful. Has won several Daytime Emmys with them in the following years: 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2019. Also won with The Young and the Restless in 1997 and 2000.

My first thought was Beldner but the others fit the bill as well.

If it's Gibson or Minnis, I could see MVJ hiring them.

Beldner has only been with AMC and ATWT not several shows other than Y&R

I don't know if it's him or not, but he has "won multiple Emmys across several shows over the last 30 years", so he meets the criteria.
