Well, the Newman set showed even without Ed Scott, thought is being put into production designs. But this set feels, to me, a bit like the original Brooks family home (which is where I always believed Billy/Victoria should have moved into back in the day).

The tiny GP rooms looked like a mid range hotel-hardly the upmarket boutique hotel it was supposed to be.

And just like the GCAC the same room was used for multiple characters.

It's a pity both sets aren't used to provide some variety.

Back to Billy - I'm confused about his living situation in the past few years.

He was at the Chancellor Estate when they did the awful blue makeover and I remember him with Lily in the condo, but where else has he lived?

Also how wealthy is he?That apartment is nice but not the sort of place you'd imagine a rich guy living in.

At least we know CZ will be back someday. The 'nine lives' comment, sleeping pills and no way Claire gets saddled with premeditated murder.

CG delivers when given an opportunity. Let's hope there's far more drama in Mariah's world. If only Tessa would comfort Daniel...

Billy's 180 is a fakeout. Love the new set - so many details, the hallway, etc. It's classic.

I've noticed how Y&R has been *introducing* characters during the back half of the show lately. Friday was Sally + Diane.

Overall the show's production values and scene depth make it far more enjoyable. It's little things - like when the couple behind Jack leaving and a few moments later a waiter cleans the table, the waitstaff at Society watching Tessiah, etc. Adding those touches, gives the scenes a different energy instead of watching two isolated characters talking.

See? This is much better. Even if it was just an episode focused on one storyline. It went into several layers.

The new designer's work stood out so much. Again, I'm loving that everyone was dressed like it was winter. And all the men were dressed in dark clothes and it really stood out. They also only had their jackets on at times that made sense which meant mmmm camera angles. lol. If anything, I feel like the men are either dressing their age or being dressed younger which has been hit or mess.

Time keeps on ticking on Sharon. I love that Nick and Chance are on the case. And that their slow way of figuring things out does not feel like it is a stalled storyline (like Cyrus killing folk over on GH). It does feel paced for every clue, every realization. And now they might have found Sharon. Fingers crossed.

And then you have Nikki and Victoria worrying about Claire. Not to mention aftereffects. And it's been nice to see them go back to having doubts about Claire. That was a part of the storyline with the reveal of her as Eva I don't mind the writers going back to.

I did like the Jordan/Claire scenes for sure. I just feel that HE can do a psycho. lol. So her being more cunning worked for me. I just wish she would keep this edge in the aftermath or there's some aftereffect. Especially if there is going to be a Summer/Kyle/Claire triangle.

My god, Tessa is a MORON. I have never liked her character and today just further cemented I never will. A complete idiot. I LOVED Mariah ripping her apart. Camryn is SO good when she’s allowed to. I teared up when Mariah saw Sharon.

I will say I’m surprised how much I’ve enjoyed this story but I’m a huge Sharon fan despite all of the terrible writing through the years. I wanted to see how they got her out of this which they mostly have outside of framing Daniel and dumping the body. Those are still pretty wild lol.

I will say this story pretty much proves despite ALLLLL of the awful [!@#$%^&*] Sharon and Nick have done to each other, they absolutely belong together imo.

Hayley Erin plays the psycho role really well. I hope she keeps some edge after this story. The bland Claire is awful.

I thought CZ was great in this episode and the whole story tbh. You almost felt bad for her when her plan came crashing down surrounded by the Newmans. Almost looking childlike.

Sally has been in town how many years and alresdy slept with two sets of brothers? It’s wild she’s joined that Newman-Abbott quad club so fast. Still confused why they couldn’t just let her and Adam be happy.

Really like Billy’s new set though. Actually has some depth to it. Love the couch.

Interested to see how watching Jordan die at her hands affects Claire, given how originally she was so gong ho about it.

Despite whatever JM said in the past, Sharon is his best pairing.

    • Am I remembering correctly that the Madison's lived in a Spanish revival-style house? I have a vague recollection of the fireplace looking especially Spanish in style. It is unusual that Montecello had so many architectural styles.  Obviously, that might occur IRL.  But, look at other east coast soaps and there is a definitive style that is throughout (because it was styled by a set decorator) regardless of the income of the occupants.
    • @kalbir MSW was a powerhouse for CBS. Angela Lansbury was a superb actress. In 1985, TV viewers were tiring of the primetime soaps and the like. People wanted storytelling and MSW was great at that and had great guest stars. Storytelling -- an amazing and novel concept. CBS Daytime by 1985 was beating ABC so CBS was on the upswing.
    • I'd say just the opposite - conflict means they will find out and then be at odds. For the limited amount of time people on this show have conflict (if they aren't named Nina or Ric, I guess).
    • Totes mcgoats (aka I agree). But, now the character needs to move forward.  Clyde's exit was 12/11/24.  It is May.  She and Chad have been on one date. I don't think they've slept together. And she was only planning on sticking around for a year.
    • That is one of the best insults I've heard in a long time.  I burst out laughing when Kat called Eva that.  LOL Their scenes, of course, were really good.  Colby and Ambyr have so much chemistry.  The only thing I'd change is Kat saying "you're dead to me."  That's a phrase usually said about someone you care about.  I would've preferred something like "You will never be my sister," or something similar to that.  Nice contrast at the end with both mothers/daughters:  Kat comforting/consoling her mother, and Eva being locked out by her mother.  Yeah, I wasn't a big of fan of the singing either, especially after your daughter's life has been destroyed.  What?  LOL And I also agree with those that thought Dana/Leslie's scenes with the Dupree's didn't feel right since Eva is not a Dupree....unless she is.  But as of right now, she's not.
    • Trisha Mann-Grant, Ambyr Michelle, Sean Freeman are destined for bigger and better things. They need to move on as soon as their initial contracts are done.
    • Daphnée Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant on Instagram live, 5/5/2025 just concluded, saved here https://www.instagram.com/p/DJSsYb7PDv8/
    • I really need to see Anita in a scene that isn't with a family member. In fact, I would have preferred that she would have gotten rid of the mob and had a one on one with Leslie to lay down the law with her.  I'm going to say it, Mike Manning has been completely lifeless on this show. Other than people's superficial fondness for him, I don't get what they see in him as an actor. I never saw him on DAYS though. The show had another really strange cut right before the opening credits where it looked like they almost cut off Nicole mid-sentence.  Kat/Eva are carrying this show on their backs. Lock them in for lifetime contracts, I beg.
    • There's a 1980 scene of Victor and Katherine in the Chancellor Estate living room where they went over a contract that would put Victor in charge of Chancellor Industries, but it was rewritten that Katherine brought Victor to Genoa City so he could run Chancellor Industries.
    • Put me in the minority in being happy about Cat not being Abby. After the two adult recasts played tag with the role, it's time for a few years of rest. I have a huge list of things I hate about RC's writing, but that choice was not one of them.
