Damn… Tate was pathetic lol

He couldn’t even bring himself to say the words to Holly. And was still more concerned with his relationship with her than the abortion. I wonder who’s gonna win if we end up getting Tate vs. Doug III. Honestly, I didn’t dislike the way Tate was written, but that was not a good look for him. Not at all. Sophia definitely had bigger balls today

Speaking of Sophia, I’m glad that they finally cast her mother, even though Amy seems a little cliche and sounds like she stepped out of the 1970s. I think it’ll help us see why Sophia is the way that she is and if it leads to Sophia getting more depth and more layers, I’m all for it.

I really liked the Shawn/Belle scenes though. It was one of the best parts of today. I like the situation that they’re in and I hope they play the long game with the two of them, especially now that they’re going to be working together. Belle as DA could be really interesting too.

EJ vs. Paulina would be a lot better if that was the thing that was used to cause conflict for Johnny and Chanel.

As for Rafe and Fake Rafe… Skip.

It was the cruelty of it that I hated more than anything.

Ron let his worst qualities as a human being write that story for him. Then, you add in Jamey Giddens, who just makes everything ten times worse and that was the mess we got.

Hopefully that, along with Body&Soul, contributed to his firing.

I understand completely about how cruel Leo & Dimitri were to Gwen. They were awful to her. I agree about Ron's worst qualities. And, I am no fan of Jamey's. Plus, this storyline added in with B&S & you have one giant mess. So in summary I am not at all surprised that they fired him.

I honestly am not minding the Arnold story so far. I mean, Rafe has already seen him so this story is going at warp speed anyway. Bring on the reveal we saw in the DoD promo, and Dan F (not spelling all that) is good at being a bastard so I'm being entertained.

I've never been a fan of Shawn and Belle as a couple because of how utterly forced and oversold it always was, but the way their being written now, as actual adults with faults and regrets really helps bring the show down to earth from all the craziness.

The last episode of the year! Too bad it was a little… ehhh.

I see Amy was channeling her inner Tom Horton today. I almost expected her to say that Tate and Sophia needed to get married in order to avoid a scandal, and to give the baby a name.

Idk about this part of the storyline though. I don’t dislike it, but it just seems so dated and unnecessary. There are so many other ways they could have caused conflict with the younger crowd until the inevitable pregnancy happened. Not only would have been better than this but also would have seemed more current.

Maybe I’m wrong but I think all Tate needed to do was to tell Amy to go f*ck herself, and then take Sophia to get the abortion anyway.

And I think it’s also time for Tate to meet Doug III, who seemed to shine with Holly again today. They have nice chemistry. But I would’ve liked to have seen him and Tate have a rivalry first before all of this happened. As for Doug III’s line, “You can’t be alone when the ball drops. It’s bad luck”… Not to get too personal but I think that might be true

Btw, we all know that Brady’s not the sharpest crayon in the box, but you think he would’ve realized that his little demon spawn was probably the one sending the texts after Ava told him where they were coming from.

And yeah, Paulina’s still a lousy Mayor. Can EJ sue, like Rafe can? Which still would have been a much better way to cause conflict for Rafe/Jada than Fake Rafe 2.0. They’re getting it right with Shawn/Belle; they could’ve also gotten it right with Rafe/Jada too.

I don't think the writers wrote that and I don't need Jada dealing with Shawn and Belle problems I think Jada's character has bigger things to worry about I expect it will be Jada getting pregnant not knowing if the baby is for Fake Rafe or Real Rafe

Rafe and Jada having Fake Rafe as drama  fits them currently because Jada didn't know about that part of Rafe's past and it makes the most sense for them as a pairing and they dealt with work issues on the show before they didn't need that again written for them

His social media/IMDb doesn't have his age but from some posts he's made, I'm guessing 1989 is his birth year.
    • Here's the timeline, as I recall it being published. The WGA strike was 5/2–9/27/2023 Annalynne McCord was announced as being hired in December 2023, for a one-year contract https://deadline.com/2024/06/days-of-our-lives-when-to-expect-annalynne-mccord-peacock-1235975806/ RonC's first scripts back from the strike began airing May 31, 2024 (around Konstantine & Maggie's wedding) https://www.tvinsider.com/1137709/days-of-our-lives-writers-return-15000th-episode-storylines/ Her first air date was June 19th 2024. The actress has said she was not told who she would be playing until she started taping. RonC 's replacements were announced July 2024, with his scripts airing through April 2025 Side note: DAYS social media team seems to be playing fast and loose with BTS videos, in terms of how far in advance they film content, so we shouldn't assume anyone's current status, versus those who were there nine months ago.
    • April and her husband (Draper) are the "young leads" who tie all the storyline threads together.  They're normally in the center of the action.  In this particular storyline, Draper is the attorney who represents Paige Madison.  (The district attorney, Logan Swift, has given Paige Madison "temporary immunity from prosecution" if she will lead the police to the members of the Tobias Gang who stole the firearms.  But Paige mainly just ducks bullets from various gang members who pop-up to assassinate her.)
    • It's one thing to post about a soap's rumors or gossip, which in point of fact we've all done. It's another to present yourself as the inside source who knows something to be fact that's about to break wide, then backtrack and call it just Twitter speculation. Between those two extreme poles you have to commit to one or the other. If I got something wrong, I'd say it. (Nor would I keep playing insider after what I pulled with Drake Hogestyn, which should've gotten someone permanently banned.) And regardless, you don't open with this 'news' you don't actually want to stand by yet by mocking DRW's extremely valid concerns re: how the Trina character and Tabyana Ali has been marginalized and put out to virtual pasture ever since the day NAC left. Her playing out her current contract in a C-storyline with Kai does not change that.
    • Yeah, I thought it would be more explosive or heated and it was kind of standard.  Both can do more with the material.  I just don't think the writing was there.
    • Daphnée and TMG are on Instagram live (as we speak) and are saying they don’t know why Maurice left.
    • Anita let SilkPress know what time it was!
    • Kat vs. Eva and Anita vs. Leslie were today's highlights.
    • TBF, the majority of Month 2 was them beefing up all the side-stories...mind you Duprees as well as non-Duprees...and it did not seem like people were taking to it as well as they were taking to stories in Month 1. If anything I feel (hope) that May Sweeps is going to shift...while dealing with the aftermath of the Nicole/SilkPress storyline...to the next big story aka Martin's Secret. But that's me hoping that Martin's meltdown over SilkPress jiggles some memories of his out...which I was already hoping would happen. Add on that Bill is involved in both stories now...that might be his way of being sure nothing happens to him now in light of SilkPress's antics.    And...same. I feel they did a better job than expected with Vanessa/Doug with me because I didn't even realize how invested I was until their talk at the hospital and Doug made that subtly blunt comment about their arrangement...making the various online discussions online real. And for me, relevant.
