Sonny has been played out for decades. Sonny would have been who I would have killed instead of Sam

Hate is too strong a word for my feeling toward Sonny. I’m just hopelessly bored with him. He’s a drag on the show, and we’ve seen all his tricks.

Oh, I hope it didn't sound like I was telling you guys to like Sonny.  I can understand if you don't and if you never did.  I was just trying to explain how I felt about him.  

There are plenty of characters on GH I will always hate no matter what they do to rehabilitate them lol.

I get sick of Sonny and the same old storylines, the same old romances, him constantly getting away with multiple crimes, blaming his poor decisions on others, etc.  I just don't hate him and hope one day the show turns the character around.  

Let me write a strongly worded letter to Frank to get him To bring back Brenda just to die cause of Sonny 😂

It didn't.  At least, I didn't see it that way.

I just have a hard time feeling empathy for a character who has made his living extorting from and exploiting others.  GH can pretty it up all they want, but that's what Sonny (and Jason) do.

You wouldn't!! I thought we were friends lol.  

My hate list isn't terribly long for current characters, but I have a good long list of past characters so I won't clog up the current thread with that 😂 A lot of characters on cast now I am indifferent to honestly.  But let's just say if Violet turns out to Brenda's long lost daughter or something I would still hate that child.

I don't think I necessarily feel empathy to current Sonny or Jason.  I think it's more nostalgia and knowing they both could be better.  It makes me sad both characters were so ruined along the way (although I know many have hated Sonny since day 1). I used to hate Carly and I have actually come around to her.  I think she's an awful human, but LW sort of sells it to me.

-- I admit I don't like Sonny, but that's hardly the whole point, because I also dislike the way Maurice Benard is playing Sonny.

The truth is that his acting skills have really regressed, and he's just not the same performer he once was. He struggles -- mightily at times -- to remember lines, and it's annoying and awkward and hard to watch.

-- Do I think the order of the head writers' names matters? No, I don't. I think those names are alternated, and I don't believe their individual skills sets are attached to anything regarding the credits.

You're always very polite about who you don't like or like, even when that probably gets very exhausting. If you don't hate Sonny it's not a bad thing, it's just your opinion.

You bring up another great point. Outside of Sonny just sucking overall to me, Maurice has been a poor excuse for an actor for like 20 years at this point. 

They're trying hard with the Joss Mourns Dex stuff, but none of it resonates.

We just haven't seen enough of that couple in recent months. It's possible I wouldn't care to watch this even if we had, but that's a moot point. GH dropped the ball.

I also don't think Eden McCoy is doing much with these scenes. Not seeing a grief-stricken partner, that's for sure. Doesn't help when -- for some godawful reason -- spends the day at the Xmas tree park so she can run into Cam for a really awkward conversation.

Thanks! Not really exhausting.  I know I am fighting an uphill battle most of the time 😂.  

I also can clearly be objective when my favorites are acting like idiots or the characters I hate do something I like or serve their intended purpose.  GH has been so far off creatively for me for so long I just don't feel as passionate about any character anymore (except Brenda of course).  And even Brenda has done some very, very dumb things that made me what to bang my head against a wall.🤣

I will agree with the fact MB has been checked out for years now.  His performance has severely declined.   I blamed Mo, but I also blame everyone in charge for allowing it and he certainly not the only actor who has declined over the years.

I thought Eden was doing well until today.  The Cameron scenes were so awkward and she was so casual about it.
