A meh of an episode. I figured that they would do what I mentioned a few days ago and use Thursday as a breather after that awesome momentum they had for the last two weeks. Because the one thing I didn't like about Lulu's Awakening has been other scenes that could have waited for an episode or two that had nothing/very little to do with Lulu. And here it is. And I was just meh. A break well needed for me. lol.

The more they put Anna front and center on this 'Must Find Charlotte Valentin' storyline, the more my RHOA Housewife shade wants to come out, complete with gifs. Not even the talents of Finola Hughes can keep that storyline from not feeling like Frank just wants to bring his buddy back on canvas. Though I do have a hope that the writers might pull a Josh Griffith and have Charlotte found off-screen. I thought it was funny to have Spin roped into this. And I'm not at all surprised to see Carly mixed up in this due to who wrote the episode.

What I actually cared about this episode were the Alexis/Molly, TJ/Curtis, and Dante/Sonny scenes. It was a nice way to keep the Molly/TJ storyline going as the B plot it has been this week and as expected Lulu adjacent story was put to C plot. That said...I love we are still getting both points of view between Molly and TJ. And I'm always here for Dante/Sonny scenes.

Let me swoon for Isaish and Jordan for a moment. Hehe. I didn't like the concept of the scene. However, I stay loving the look in his eyes when he's around Jordan.

Ugh. Not Dr. Obrecht Lite as a spoiler for Carly/Brennan. GIRL, BYE.

I don't care about Natalia. I don't care for the propping. But at least write Natalia like how she's been written and not St. Maria of the PushUp Bra.

Le sigh at that phone call.

Slowly, but surely.

I hate her less than Leo, but she is so stupid sometimes.  Sonny has already completely forgotten about his ex wife Nina.  With all the Kristina and Ava stuff going on plus him trying to woo Bigot mom, does Joss really think he cares at all about Dex?  Like Sonny was waiting all these months to carry out the lamest stabbing ever?

Instead of seeing Erica Kane, I would much rather Valentini lure Erika Slezak in for a year to bring on a new villainous family. I think she could really bring it as a cold, calculating matriarch of a dangerous family. I would love to see her let loose on a contained viper character.

I adore Erika but I don't think that would fly. I think people are (understandably) beyond tired of OLTLers on this show and I also don't think anyone would ever see her as anyone other than Viki given the proximity and many crossovers.

I had once wanted Viki to appear as a guest in a major umbrella storyline in which (in her role as an esteemed American journalist) she would interview the villain of the story in Port Charles but that's another discussion. As it is, despite a recently thriving primetime career I fear Erika may not be in good physical health (on top of the tragic loss of her daughter) to appear judging by her appearance on the last Locher Room. I dearly hope I am very much mistaken.

    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.
