I agree with others that Ed Scott deserves credit for all the changes in lighting and production that we're seeing. Better wardrobe is another indication that someone's paying attention to this show -- and its ratings.

Still....I can in no way sign on to that greenscreen of the graveyard at Heather's funeral. That was awful. Just because it was better than the completely horrendous greenscreens we've seen in the past few months doesn't excuse it.

It took me right out of the scene, and could not have looked worse or more fake. If they can't do better than a greenscreen out of the 1980s, skip it. Don't do it at all.

When Y&R uses a green screen, it usually ends up looking like those Saturday Night Live "Cinema Classic" spoofs, like when the chipmunk or the squirrel is driving the car.

As I posted before, if there had have been shrubs or a higher wall with cutouts, the graveyard background wouldn't have been so obvious.

Re the ranch, really typical Victor controlling behavior under the guise of romantic gesture.

Nikki has no say in the design or furnishings, even though that would bring her great pleasure surely. Instead Victor just presents it and she's supposed to be grateful.

Just like when guys choose a wedding ring that women are supposed to wear for the rest of their married life.

Did they explain how months of construction could go on with Nikki unaware? Maybe it all happened when she was drunk.

Oh, Paul, you're forgetting that Hero Victor saved Nikki from the stripper pole!

I agree, but when you have Detective Chance saying "I keep asking what I'm missing!" we can't expect Nikki to notice all that heavy construction machinery on the property. And don't forget, Nikki's been buried in financials at Newman. 😂

I haven’t watched the show in weeks but I may just check it out.

Do!

I watched and it was a good one minus Devon and whatshername.😂

Loved the flashbacks today, some of which I don't think were shown before.

He told her that the trucks she kept seeing on the property were fixing an erosion issue.

That video was great. Love BTS stuff. Wish they would go into more detail about the decisions made re the set eg why the entrance was switched etc.

As for the Fri episode, I wonder who is behind it. I don't believe Josh has the knowledge to choose specific flashbacks,so who are the go to people that can identify those moments?

There is a historian. In an interview, Josh said he was looking for a villain from Nikki and Victor's past and the historian told him about Eve Howard. He wanted to bring her back and the historian explained she was dead and also told him that Eve's son Cole married Victoria and they had a child that died... the rest is history.

Looking at the Deadline Hollywood video, the Ranch is now opposite Society, so it's likely they'd be able to film "outside" the Ranch if the door were still stage right. So moving it stage left makes sense, especially since it's not meant to be the same Ranch, but more-so a "replica" of it.

11-5

I enjoyed every moment of Lily dressing down Billy. lol. Billy tried to come off as hot stuff. But Lily was digging in. And even Giggly Heffa caught a stray when she walked over. Good. I love that everyone sees that Lily is a hard worker while Billy will always be a mess.

Speaking of Phyllis...I actually liked her with the bartender. It made me think of the days when Y&R had recurring characters. And speaking of old Y&R, ooooo yes. It's still slight, but noticeable that production charges are taking hold. The first half of this episode there were this slowing moving sweeping camera angles going on that had me in awe.

Well...I am going to assume that since Susan Banks were listed last in the name of writers for this episode that she was the ones writing the Amy/Nate scenes. Which I did like. Though my mind is already trying to figure out where Daiman would fit on this canvas.

Oh...THAT is the cgi you all were talking about. Ugh. They were better off doing it inside of a church setting. which they could have kept all of that setting they had on display. It was so distracting.

And that? Was tragic. Because it was a pretty good episode. I was sorry that MS was going back to NOT being subtle. But MG though...mmmm tore me up.

I'm surprised they allowed Sharon to go at all. And thankfully, anything major that would mess with Faith's wellbeing...like lashing out at her mother...was kept to a minimum. And at least Paul was mentioned. I even thought it was a decent amount of a crowd.

And then the end with Phyllis trying to beg Sharon to confess...was decent. As was Phyllis with the white flower.

Thanks for the responses. @BoldRestless @Liberty City @lucaslesann23

Wonder who the 'historian' is? HATE that Clair retcon btw. Maybe the historian should refuse to talk to Josh.

If he wanted to use history why not Mari Jo?

Or Rick Daros! He would've been a better alternative to Eve IMO

I liked the ending too, more the angles and filming style than the acting itself though lol
