That pairing only worked somewhat with Justin Hartley as Adam, yet they keep trying to make fetch happen. That goes for the whole character of Chelsea, who is somehow still around more than halfway through the year of our Lord 2024. Sick of the sob story. Again, Mal Young made the right decision to bounce MCE, as talented as she is. One of the few good decisions he made during his disastrous tenure, and even then it was long overdue. Kyle’s bitter falling out with Diane (and Jack) could have potential, but like everything on Y&R it feels constrained by JG’s shallow writing and low budget. I think this Kyle/Summer story would have worked better if they were still married or at the very least on the verge of reconciliation. At least it would explain better why Summer would want to keep Kyle on his leash.
