Mhm, and while the casting worked [for the most part], it's a daytime trope that's becoming too popular now-a-days, and it's off-putting.

I thought Tonya had made that quite clear over the years. But nice to see it official. 

 

So much has gone down with Nate over the years that her presence would have inform so much about his character. But...I felt JG did right by having Mamie come in to handle it. 

I don't blame Tonya Lee Williams for not wanting to come back to Y&R after the way she was unceremoniously dumped in 2005.

I think most of us knew TLW's feelings about coming back to Television City, as she had turned down returning for the 50th last year. At this point, use this as a first refusal and recast. Nate hasn't had one scene with his mother since he was brought back for the last 7 years.
