I feel like Franco in that era would have wanted to steal Jake away and make him his own-not throw him in front of a moving vehicle.  The Jason/James Franco vibes were so weird at the time.  He would eat green? M&M's because they were Jason's favorite.  Even summarizing stories from that era feel like a fever dream.

I will repeat. I believe that Jake was contentedly playing on the floor with his back to the door. Elizabeth turned her back on him, and when she turned around again Jake was gone and the door open. I am supposed to believe that Jake just suddenly got up, ran out the door into the street, and then got hit by drunken Luke. I reject that. Franco opened the door, grabbed Jake, and threw him into the street in front of Luke's car. He was not seen, but he still did it.

I also believe that Franco was following Abby, and sabotaged the crane while she was standing in front of it talking to Michael on the phone. Franco murdered her.

I have no idea why the writers continue having Laura make friends with absolute psychos like Heather Webber.

Is this supposed to make us like Laura? And redeem Heather?

As far as redeeming Heather, why would I want that? She was a great psycho. I don'T want nice Heather walking around the park with oblivious and ridiculous Laura.

Maybe Laura should go and sit with Lulu for awhile.

My thinking is someone at GH Thought:

Fans Love Laura

If Laura sees a change in Heather maybe fans will accet that change

GH could have done this hop story with No one on Heather's side. Then after a new surgery, she has prove she's changing and not just faking as usual.

But what's the point? To what end?

Some characters are meant to be incredible and then leave. I don't know why the GH canvas needs a reformed Heather. I don't know what she can do except eat up a salary. This show needs to get rid of characters.

I decided I would watch GH for May sweeps before finally giving up on it. It has not been looking promising but I did not hate today’s episode.  Here is hoping we see some big improvements fast.

I would be more onboard for Heather’s redemption arc if Robin Mattson was playing her. Alley Mills is talented but it is not having the same impact it would with Robin. I also think it is in character for Laura to be part of this story.  If done properly we will get scheming Heather back and hopefully bonkers Heather is gone for good.  If Heather is sticking around at least they can write her true to character.

Maybe we're heading to Heather trying to reform but ultimately reverting to her old ways before being sent off after an epic mental break. I'd be a fan of that more than anything, a slow burn descent back into madness.

I reject a ton of things that have happened on GH.  That doesn't mean they aren't real. I appreciate the dedication to double down on this.

You want me to believe Liz, who was at home at the time looking at Aiden's paternity results, didn't notice a grown man breaking into her home and physically throwing a toddler into the street is more believable than a toddler opening an unlocked door and walking into the street?

Abby was not worth the trouble of going through all that rigmarole to kill her.  Franco should have just thrown her in front of Luke's car too lol.

Thanks for the laughs though.

She got no justice either.  They told Michael she was just injured and then led him and Sam? to the morgue instead.

Wait a minute!  That's the kid who played Jack's son on "Will & Grace," lol!

What was even the point of Franco back then, except to give James Franco license to mock soaps as an "artistic experiment"?

No point.   I get it probably sounded okay on paper and was good buzz, but JF was clearly mocking GH, soaps, and the entire fanbase.  And Guza just kept running with it.  I am pretty positive Guza wanted Brenda to tie into the story, but Vanessa hard passed.  There was a whole thing about the numbers/signatures he put in paintings. It just didn't add up to much.  He was an actual serial killer that made money by taking pictures of serial killings as an artist and was famous, but super obsessed with Jason.   I liked when JF did the whole art exhibition in LA and just jumped off the roof so he was presumed dead though.  It was ridic but mildly entertaining.

Which was what was baffling to me. On paper I thought the idea was fun and buzzy for the show, but it quickly became clear Franco just wanted to piss on the show and they just kept giving him more airtime and big setpieces because Guza and Phelps were starstruck. I'm sure people remember that big MOCA thing with Franco's weird-ass Hollywood friends and it was certainly more entertaining than a lot of the last decade, but let's at least have some self-respect, GH.

    • Well, they usually weren't on the show at the time for long until the late 90's. But yeah, they really deserved a story centered on them, and not through the lens of Reva.
    • Chelsea was doing the absolute most today! Why was she introducing her sister to a woman she doesnt know? That whole scene was embarrassing. Madison needs to stay away from her bc she is too immature
    • Gosh, what a waste with Lunacy. Why have her live with $B, reveal Finn, pardon her, etc What makes this story incredibly hollow is that what Luna is asking isn't unreasonable - to spend time with her cousin father. She's not asking to move in with them. How hard with it be for Finn to throw her a bone by, say, I'll meet you for lunch/coffee once at week at the hospital cafeteria. Lunacy isn't going to hurt Finn. In fact, all her crimes were related to finding her father and it turns out to be someone she's loved her entire life. Instead of course-correcting the nonsense of last summer, Brad somehow found a way to make this worse! That's a skill... Of all the younger actors B&B has cast during the past 5 years, LY has shown the most growth and range. Why get rid of her?
    • On the subject of sets (seems more interesting to discuss than the actual show)  Some sets we don't see anymore Lauren/Michael apartment (haven't seen that in years) Victoria's house (are Marian/Tessa living there?) Apartment above Crimson Lights (I think Chelsea was the last resident) Penthouse (Lily's home) Chancellor Estate (Devon/Abby) Chancellor office (once Dark Horse) Nick's house GCAC room (used as residence/hotel room for several characters) Some of these may pop up again. The tack house, for example, was not seen for many months before being used again. Have I missed anything?
    • Thanks for searching through everything. Worked on them so long, just too lazy to check for those links myself, so I am glad you chose to do it! I guess I never did type out anything for 1973-1977 in regards to the preemptions, but they are on the charts at least (and this far back, they don't seem to do any of those "breakouts" anymore, so things are simpler in the 1970's, so eventually I could type those out).
    • I dump on the Y&R sets problem all the time, but BOLD is no better -- and they're not even introducing new sets. All of their sets are years old, and very few look like they're inhabited by people with money. Is that going to change with this move? I'd rather they save the money spent on another remote, which is no better than an HGTV travelogue, and get some new/better sets.
    • The donut posts here make up for a Friday show that was barely meh. Aside from seeing Anna, I really didn't care much about anything else. While I understand the thought behind breaking up all the sadness with "other scenes," I'd rather they moved right to John's funeral. Instead of hearing a stupid story about John changing some minor character's tire 20 years ago, just move on to the crying. I also thought the Chad and Cat scenes were a waste. I realize not everyone is devastated by John's death to the point of not functioning, but going sky diving is a choice. By the way, Jack and Jennifer are giving me nothing on this return. Please leave asap. DAYS did such a great job with John's death, so ending the week this way was a letdown.
    • Add Dr. Montgomery to list of fine women on this show! I hope the show goes forward with Madison/Chelsea and then once they're developed, bring back Allison, who is now divorced or a widow, for a Madison/Chelsea/Allison triangle.  It would definitely be the hottest triangle in daytime.
    • I wonder if Linda Bloodworth-Thomason had Kim in mind for any of her other characters/series. If they intended Allison Sugarbaker (Julia Duffy's character) to be more in line with who Suzanne was/Delta Burke's portrayal-persona, then I think Kim would have aced that. Yes, it would have been odd, Kim having previously played a different character (from a different family), but Designing Women wouldn't have been the first show with that issue. Or maybe Kim could have played Beth Broderick's role on Hearts Afire. Or Patricia Heaton's role on Women of the House.
    • Sony is probably waiting until Y&R’s lease is up as well. All of TV City is going to be gutted, so they have to relocate at some point.
