For once, I'm not going to say anything positive or negative about JG or his jumping over to BTG.  I'm just going to wish him well, lol.

At the end of the day, however, it comes down to these three truths:

1. It isn't about WHAT you know, but about WHO you know, that gets you ahead in any business.

2. It isn't about hiring the best and brightest, but about hiring the easiest to work with and the most efficient.

3. If you really want to know why certain individuals in this industry keep getting hired, despite their abysmal track records, you actually need to take a look in the mirror.  They keep getting hired, because they know how to deliver to a generation of fans who've been conditioned not to be able to tell good from bad.  (Anyone who remembers when these shows still would "write up" to the viewers knows what I'm talking about).

I feel like a lot of the hate Jamey gets is from his past on Daytime Confidential. From the moment Ambitions was announced there were people rooting for him to fail. He assembled a great team, including giving Michele Val Jean and Susan Dansby a chance at a primetime show with Producer titles which both said was a career highlight. Together this team created a great soap that lived on in streaming. Many of the writing staff has gone on to get jobs on the other soaps. Black voices we did not have prior to Jamey platforming them on Ambitions.

He's currently in his second season headwriting Sistas which continues to raise in the ratings and is always trending on Twitter and this is a show that's been on for years. Jamey breaking through as a fan and a Black writer is impressive and he's done a lot for Black writers on soaps and I'll always be greatful for that.

I'll also mention that today's script writer was Jazmen Darnell Brown, the fourth writer from Ambitions to be added to the staff. If that doesn't speak to the experience MVJ had on that show, I don't know what will. And people have been raving about his script today.

I agree with all this. But I was under the impression he was on breakdowns at BTG, and if so frankly I'm still glad he's not writing scripts.

Some highlights of Jamey’s work on Days. Hopefully, y’all see why I hope he and Ron are being watched like hawks.

Don't forget that he was the one behind SaRenée.

Both he and Ron seems to appreciate the lowest 80s style camp.

Exactly!

That’s why people on here saying “Ron’s just a breakdown writer” didn’t ease my concerns about him at BTG. Because look what “just a breakdown writer” did at Days.

Yes but even worse.  Ron thinks these costumes, lookalikes, and related escapades are hilarious, but they're not.

The first pic is a stuffed bear in an obnoxious saccharine storyline that one character gave another (two characters that never belong together) .. and then the bear came to life in someone's dream or something? I had to skim it, it was so awful, so I don't care about the details.

The second pic is from "Body&Soul" a soap-within-soap on Days that was a horrid storyline that lasted for many months and even Deidre Hall commented (after Ron C. stopped writing) in a subtle way that implied relief it was done.

The last pic actually is Greg Rikaart on Days who was the Y&R chipmunk.

Yup. Both Ron and Jamey has issues with their taste levels and the fact that they're on the team gives them - for better or worse - room to pitch stories and get promoted. Add that they seemingly bring out each others worst instincts as DAYS went further off the rails once Jamey joined. I'm glad they're both off DAYS but really, everyone needs to keep them away from suggesting storylines. Just shut and lock the door if they try.

    • It feels like the show hired Hank Northrop first and are still deciding what to do with him lol. I don't have a judgement on the character yet, but this non-story (so far) has been happening for at least a month and he's only made 2 appearances lol.
    • I know Anita mentioned that she no longer was investing in the trust, while Leslie had stated that the interest was multiplying at a decent rate... but I do have a feeling she'll wipe through the trust in a short amount of time with the amount of spending she's doing. The show always throws in tiny nuggets of foreshadowing and having Anita's remark and Eva warning her mother not to overdo the spending tells me that Leslie will be blowing through that money eventually.
    • I honestly don't care if Laura is friends with Sonny.  She's been friends with him for decades.  The way she goes about the friendship is stupid.   She has no sense of self-preservation or awareness about the optics of parading her friendship with Sonny around town.  She practically celebrates it.  There's no reason in the world she can't just keep the friendship low key and explain they share a grandchild and frame the relationship that way.  A lot of Laura's choices, like getting into a public fight with Dalton, just make her look silly and like a fairly incompetent mayor. Carly is another PC lady that's starting to look silly.  I know she's explained her plan a lot, but it's still stupid and moving at a glacial pace.  If Joss is 45 by the time her revenge plot unfolds, what's the point?  Just dump Brennen and move on please.
    • On that same note, it's astounding to have mobster Sonny in the same office with Mayor Laura chatting it up about their mutual grandson. Think about the reaction if John Gotti and Mayor Eric Adams had a friendship

?? I guess the Logic behind Sonny & Jason acceptance is like when i saw a documentary where FBI agents said they'd rather deal with the mafia than terrorists or cartels---they're the "lesser of 3 evils". Anyway I'm about 30 years late on this convo.
    • Im confused. Does Jessica know anything about June's relation to Tyrell? At the start of the episode, it seemed like June was gonna slip that he was her son but she caught herself but later in the episode she referred to him as "my boy" and Jessica had no reaction like that wasnt a surprise to her No, Anita was putting money in the account every 6 months but we werent told how much was in it when Leslie became a beneficiary. The show has set it up that it was multiplying based off the interest so that its really worth quite alot now. I dont buy it but thats what they've told us
    • What was the point in Lori's return as Mrs. Max Hollister? That little story never made much sense to me.  Were there plans for a permanent return? Or even a new family with her as the matriarch?
    • I guess it depends on your device.  I can watch CW shows via their website on my Windows PC.
    • Ooooo A Liam episode? I'll watch it later today. They sure are churning the daily episodes out early.
