This is just pure speculation/wonder, but it would be interesting to see if any CBS affiliates opt to air it in a late-afternoon timeslot. For years, Y&R came on at 4pm CT in Baton Rouge so that working folks had a better chance of seeing it, so my little corner of the world got it twice a day (BR plus 11am via WWL out of New Orleans). I doubt anyone is going to do specifically that for a brand new show, but I feel like a new show would benefit from it more than anything else at this point.

 

There is an only a few CBS stations that still air the lineup slightly out of order, with KRQE, KUTV, KIRO and I think the Idaho stations were still out of whack last time looked. Unfortunately I don’t think any station airs Y&R as late as 4 anymore, the last ones that did moved the show to regular timeslot several years ago. 
 

Syndication is very expensive especially during the daytime these days, so it’s interesting that affiliates now crave network programming where as historically we know a lot of them didn’t and would pre-empt some soaps and game shows. 

Canada has Y&R and DAYS on Global, B&B on CTV, and GH on CityTV.

Does anyone know if there are plans for BTG to air in Canada?

Of course, you're right that if he could, he would try to get on there. I just think that they've got the people they want & I would guess there won't be any more hires. At least not in the first 6 months. I hope this will in some small way, reassure you. I mean, I think if MVJ were going to add anyone it would definitely be Patrick Mulcahey not Jamey.

As much as people hate Jamey, him eventually showing up on Beyond the Gates wouldn't be a shocker. Sheila Ducksworth was EP of Ambitions (which was originally pitched as a daytime soap) and he has history with MVJ. If she decides to hire him I wouldn't be upset about it. They did great work on Ambitions. Days has been dreadful since Jamey joined and he isn't HW so I don't put that on him. Sistas is much better since he took over so between than and Ambitions, I do see a bit of talent there.

It's a new year, and if I have a New Year's Resolution, it's to give certain people second chances.  So, if Jamey Giddens ends up joining the BTG writing staff, then fine.  I hope he'll surprise me (in a good way, lol).

(Ron Carlivati, OTOH, has pretty much lost me for good.  You can't do what he did to Abe Carver and expect me to be at peace with it.)

I am with you here. He has proven he will run a show into the ground. The only reason I don't have a lot of smoke for him on BTG is because I feel like this is just a way for him to get "in" at CBS. I can't see his ego letting him stay in a BW position. I feel like he'll stay here a few months and transfer over to one of the Bell soaps.

I watched Ambitions and I really hate it wasn't given more of a chance. It had some good characters with good long-term plot potential in my opinion.

Here in San Diego, B&B airs at 12:30pm, Y&R at 1pm and BTG will air at 2pm

GH airs at 1pm on the ABC affiliate here.
