???

I never meant to imply that I had to explain to you what the Guza era of GH did. I was actually agreeing with most of what you said.

I tagged your comment not to explain to you what happened with GH back then, but to piggyback off of what you said.

I'm actually okay with Robert Guza, Jr. as Co-HW.  His initial run at GH (before he left to help launch SUNSET BEACH) was very good, and a seamless transition from the Labine era.  So, I think, with the right amount of support, he could do very well on BTG, too.

MVJ is the showrunner and it's her show. Regardless, of our opinions about other writers, ultimately this is her vision. All of the writers are experienced and talented in their own rights. I choose to believe this is going to be a great collaboration.

MVJ is ultimately the creator, HW, and main creative EP - it’s her reputation on the line if the storytelling sucks or is offensive to the audience. I chose to believe she won’t tolerate any nonsense since this is her creative legacy on the line here.

I know I'm looking wayyyyyyy too far ahead, but when the time comes for this show to end.........THIS IS THE MAN.

Daytime soap Search For Tomorrow ended with this.

Some people are putting MVJ in the back of the bus when it comes to her vision and have this show end before it even starts. There are quite a few people who need to check their biases because this negativity is ridiculous.

Depends on network interference. Y&R is suffocating in it but it's not clear just how much is Sony (I think a lot) vs CBS. B&B being so tepid could be mostly Bradley's lack of imagination than the network telling him to tone it down. I don't know, maybe he does have a lot of control because it's hard to believe the Eric cuck storyline and the Luna mint rape made it to air.

So I'm just going to hope for the best that we're seeing her true vision but acknowledge it might not always be. The NAACP is going to have their say too.

Right. There isn't a lot of work to go around in daytime so of course some unpopular names were going to make the staff but they won't take over. MVJ being there to oversee to first shoot makes it guiding her vision and the NAACP will make sure she keeps that control. The fact that Beyond The Gates is Black-written is even more important than the cast being majority Black. There is a lot invested here.

100% and I am glad someone does see what I see, as well. We have a predominately Black cast and our script writers are all POC, and that's promising. Val Jean knows what she is doing. I trust HER and HER vision, and those who've come in to execute it. Yes, even Carlivati.
