MVJ w KKL.jpg

MVJ often shows pix of her with friends. Here she is with KKL.

Would loveee to see a KKL cameo on BTG.

I remember.

I just don’t trust him.

So does that leave Sara Bibel, Lynn Martin & Susan Dansby all writing breakdown? Jazmen & Cheryl both wrote at DAYS.

I think we keep forgetting that this is Michele Val Jean's baby, not Ron Carlivati's or Bob Guza's.  Given her track record, I trust her to know good from bad.

Yes, and I think we also need to temper our expectations a bit at the start. Historically, the first year of a new daily serial can be a bit uneven, and shows need some time to really find their groove and gel. Yes, I know attention spans are less these days, but this is always going to be a reality IMO.

Yup. No matter how much you plan out and plot these shows there will always be cast members that don't gel, some that inevitably ends up standing out more and some actors that will just plain suck and need recasting or be written out. This of course effects the storylines in itself and projections will have to change.

With that said, even if they knock it out of the park from week 1 (doubtful, but we'll see) there's clearly people waiting with their claws out lol

CBS just ran the BTG promo during the NY-Philly NFL game.

Good news, and I think it shows how much the network cares about this show.

It's a promising sign it's been sent to primetime/non-daytime broadcasts.

I agree with this. What happens when two characters not planned to be around each other have a brief scene and the audience see a spark for example? Will the writers notice? Will they run with it? What will be best for the show?

It's good that they aren't filming too far ahead so they'll be able to make those adjustments as needed. Can you imagine if they filmed ahead like Days and something wasn't working? That could be the end of a new soap.

I've said before that I wonder if these newbies will be able to keep up with the heavy hustle and bustle that a daytime soap requires. I've seen some of them in Tubi movies which is a huge difference from what I'm sure they're currently embarking on. I hope they work out because I've always hated when a soap has so many recasts that it ends up looking like an entirely different show.

YAY!  I was saying months ago on this thread that I hope CBS Sports does cross-promotion of BTG.

I don't know if we always had haters or not. But, I'm sure BITD we did not have haters to the extreme level we have them now. It's disconcerting.

When Y&R and B&B began, with inexperienced newbies in the cast, they received a lot of criticism for their acting, but they stuck with them despite the negative reviews.

Of course, that was pre internet.

I'm sure the knives will be out for any actor perceived to be weak.

Yeah. It's very much old school Bill Bell...who was quite good at that re: adjustments for the most part.
