Huh, I can watch that feed from Europe. At what time is BTG supposed to air? It might be early evening for me.

ETA: it would air at 8PM where I am. That's certainly a decent time slot.

I like Daphnée's remark that Black Excellence is not just about wealth. I liked hearing a little bit about her working class roots in Miami during the Paley Center event. I hope after the premiere Sheila Ducksworth will retire her talking points equating achievement with wealth because it is beginning to grate.

LOL!!! Not a Grande Dame segment!!! Go on, Ms. Kuren.

I love today's preview. I know I mentioned I'm still trying to get to know the third generation Duprees so I was happy this part had family trees. I think I have the names straight now. And I loved seeing a hint of what the Hayley/Dani dynamic might be.

I have always love Tamara Tunie but something about this one just really made me love her. I would probably fangirl if I was to ever run into her lol. She just stays inspiring. I also loved seeing those OLTL clips of Daphnee. And yes, Karla, I would die, too if Danzel or Viola showed up for a guest spot.

And I liked what scenes from the first episode they showed.

Not the first man playing a powerful man named Bill that I've had a crush. lol. Here we go again.

The CBS News article mentioned earlier misspelled Daphnee's name, they forgot the "x" in Duplaix. It happened in the title and in the article:

Tamara Tunie and Daphnée Duplai on the importance of representation on the new daytime drama "Beyond the Gates"

it would be really nice if p&g could get a grip on its history. first, they say ‘as the world turns’ aired for 72  years.

to set the record straight: the first black actress on daytime television was micki grant on ‘another world,’ who started in july, 1965.

and re black actors: james earl jones and billy dee williams began in early January 1966 — jones on ‘as the world turns,’ and williams on ‘guiding light.’ jones later replaced williams on gl. and ruby dee replaced cicely tyson.
