I feel like Sally lost so much of her luster during that whole Nick/Adam thing. Personally, I I'm so over Adam at this point. The actor is great, but the character is just feeling one-note and redundant at this point. I sort of feel the same way about Billy. In many ways Billy and Adam are almost written as the same character type.

It would be a great idea to write Adam, Chelsea, and Connor out at the same time. Have them move to Europe or such. I can't understand why Chelsea has lasted this long, either.

3-20

Thank you @Soapsuds for the heads-up. As much as I've liked Claire's arc, yeeeeah they just don't do standalone well on this show most often than not. I even took in a peek and NO. Good to see next week will be more of my cup of tea.

But this week? I don't know whether to call it a dumpster fire or just a mess.

I guess the biggest stories this week was the Jordan storyline and the Ashley story.

I enjoyed Nikki, Victoria, and Claire vs Jordan. Some of the direction in the scenes was quite good. I liked how HK and MTS played it. But Jordan choosing death over prison...uhhhhh? Seems like a waste when this show could use a schemer who comes in and out and can go toe to toe with Victor.

And Ashley's story. I like we are getting to the point where the other Abbotts are finally noticing that something is off with her. Kyle. Billy. The Shirley Temple. lol. So now Ashley has a kid persona. And a new one coming, too. I still can't believe this is over an argument in Paris, but at least the story is moving.

So what are Chance and Nate up to with Devon vs Billy?

God to see per the next week promo that the only other story that I like is not over yet.

Monday 3/25, back to reality!

As far as Lily/Daniel/Heather while I’m glad to see Lily finally get to unleash some rage against Heather, the whole thing feels a tad underwhelming. Disappointed about “Daily 3.0” falling apart, but I get the notion with the aftermath the show wasn’t actually fully invested in them aside from nostalgic purposes and have become an afterthought. It’ll probably be a full month before we see these three again.

I had thought Danny & Christine had already left town, so nice to see them having a romp before they actually do leave, and a nice nostalgic reunion in time for the show’s 51st anniversary tomorrow.

However, that coffeehouse folk song that played over their love making scenes was embarrassingly bad…it sounded like a song that would’ve played in the background at Crimson Lights during the Latham or MAB era.

Phyllis pulling the fire alarm was so childish and pathetic LOL. Today’s show proved how pointless Phyllis is anymore.

I like the bond between Nikki, Claire, and Victoria, it’s actually some actual warmth feeing we haven’t seen with Newmans in like two decades.

The show’s ending with the Jordan reveal should have been last Wednesday’s cliffhanger.

How rich to listen to Devon chastise Daniel about working with and living around Lily now that Daniel and Heather's cheating has come out. How hard it will be for Lily to see Daniel and Heather at work, and to see them in the same apartment building where all they live (that Devon owns) every day.

Hmmm, kind of just like how the cheaters Devon and Abby are working every day around Chance, and living the in Chancellor manse. Don't think that's hard on Chance, Devon? I love Devon, but come on. Freaking hypocrite.

So true, and it’s actually pretty annoying as well. Devon has zero room to be judgmental  as he has caused even worse emotional and physical damage before. I think it’s why my opinion of Devon has lowered a bit over the years lol.

Onto 3/26, Y&R’s 51st anniversary…

I‘m liking the new Sally/Audra friendship and Audra definitely looked pretty in pink. Another highlight is Nate/Audra.

In our throwback to 1996 story of the day, actually Phyllis having a miserable ending was fitting while Danny and Cricket went on with their romp. Phyllis mentioned it was too early for champagne, just how early in the day was it?

Where exactly is the story about Connor going? Because shipping Connor off to some institution sounds a bit much.

Where exactly is Ashley’s split personality story going as well? The whole thing reeks of a poorly thought out story idea that didn’t fully make it out of development stage.

Devon has absolutely zero room to ever be judgemental on this show after his various cheating escapades on this show with and against his own family.

I wouldn’t even mind Ashley having a mental breakdown if it was actually over something important. The fight in Paris wasn’t even the first time we’ve seen Tucker raise his voice but somehow this time it just snapped Ashley into a million pieces.

It's plain to see that MS is enjoying playing this awful version of Phyllis. I mean, why not, she should enjoy it. It's what they are giving her to work with.

I remember when she left to go to GH for that stint, MS said she was burned out on Phyllis after playing her for 20 years and wanted something new. I loved her finessing the new Nina Reeves character and still wished she played it to this day. She has no choice but to play Phyllis as written, so I say she should have all the fun she can with it. I'm sick of everyone hating on Phyllis instead of just accepting this crap writing.

But MS at the bar flailing her champagne glass around, claiming to "wipe Danny and the Bug out of her life" was hilarious.

The character of Phyllis really does feel directionless at this point. After faking her death, she's been written into a corner.

For the story to make any sense at all, it would have to be something much bigger than the fight with Tucker...something that probably goes back to her childhood. Abuse is often the reason people develop DID. Which then would beg the question how long have all of these alters been around and have then "come to the surface" before?

Stafford's Nina was basically an off-brand even nuttier version of the early crazy Phyllis. There was no there there, her first couple years in particular were wildly unpopular and the character should not have continued long-term; even today with the talented Cynthia Watros it struggles to have any purpose. Nina only lasted because the executive regime at GH refused to give up on star names from CBS.

    • Broderick, thank you for all of the info [I edited for space]. I am so grateful for everyone filling in the blanks for me. I suspected the Nora/Eliot scene was very important and it was setting something up but I didn't know what. Can't wait to see it play out. The two actors had such a great back and forth. I should have made the Paige/Patty Hearst connection. I thought Paige was in love with Brian from the first episode I watched but it seemed as if they were brother and sister. Steve kept being affectionate with her so I assumed he was the love interest. Then she was affectionate with someone else and well..she's a very busy woman. I can't wait to see Frances Fisher show up. (I'm trying to be vague because I don't know what would be a spoiler in this storyline) Now it makes sense why Draper would be upset. I didn't get the whole background of why he didn't go to NY. I'm a sucker for good acting, so I might still side with April and Margo, if the writers don't give Draper more to do besides yelling.  He had more chemistry with Logan, but I know that's not happening.  Something else I noticed: the show really takes care with even the smallest parts. The acting is superb. Too often, I noticed on older soaps they don't take care with the recurring or day players (Ryan's Hope was so bad with this that I couldn't make it through some episodes). It's only been six episodes, but so far, the casting department was spot on.
    • I thought Dante was overreacting.  Gio made some mistakes but he's young and he tried.  It's not like he dragged two 14 years to a party and made them get blackout drunk.  Dante can have the initial upset reaction, but to go on and on was a bit much.
    • His (adoptive) nieces.  Chelsea and Stephanie.  I think Abby was involved too, but I am not sure if they are related lol.
    • That was such a dark story. I never liked Swamp girl after that. And then the dating your cousin thing. I think wasn’t Max in a triangle with two of his cousins?
    • Thank you, @j swift.  I'm probably more sympathetic to Draper Scott than most audience members are -- even though I'm absolutely CRAZY about Ann Williams & her bizarre Margo Huntington character

The more I watch these episodes -- and I've watched several of them a zillion times, I'm ashamed to admit -- you realize there's a WHOLE lot of passive-aggressive hostility brewing inside Margo Huntington about Draper.  She wants to take April AWAY from him and recreate the childhood that she never got to experience with April, because of the adoption 25 years ago.  Draper has sense enough to realize how heartless and vindictive Margo really is about other people's lives and their feelings, but he bites his tongue rather than poison his wife's mind about how horrible her mother really is.  And I admire him for that.  He's a sweet boy.
    • Unfortunately, as the 90s wore on, Felicia started wearing as many gray and neutral tones as Giorgio Armani and Donna Karan could produce, and the shoulder pads deflated to a drop sleeve.
    • I think Dante is reacting how most parents would react.
    • 5-2   Lord... At least the week started off well...I think. I don't know where to start.   Oh, yes, I do. It was mostly background noise to me. There was nothing to the majority of the characters that were on. Meaning, it was mostly characters that I didn't care for or I've gotten accustomed to just FF-ing through. Or just zoning out. Even the possibility that Michael and Lauren might have a story was just meh simply because we have done this dance before and Lauren was coming across like Michael was working for Sonny on GH the mob.   The biggest thing I really took away from last week was that the new costumer designer has stepped up her game again. It didn't bother me at all, but I wish there was some drama with this fashion. I liked Claire's outfit, LOVE Nikki's. And I continue to like brighter colors on Nick though I hated those pants. And I could go on about the clothes misses like Billy in that short sleeeve, but I digress.   The only things that held my interest...   THE SICKENING OF COLE. As soon as he started to cough, I went uh oh. I'm happy to see he might be getting a story. And I guess it shows how much history I have with the character that I care. But still...ugh.   ALL THINGS AUDRA. I admit that I was taken aback to see Victor with her at Crimson Lights. When was the last time he was there? I want to say recently with Kyle/Claire, but otherwise I still found the scene taking me aback. But I like her being soft with Kyle who actually came across annoyingly flirty for someone that hates Audra. I actually can't wait for him to eat crow. And since Audra is now being used to drive a wedge between Kyle and Claire, I have to talk about...   SUMMER'S EXIT. Mmmm...mixed feelings. It don't seem half as bad as others appear to see it. Yes, if I didn't have the context, it still seem odd that her part in the Kyle/Claire drama was barely touched on. And she interacted with everyone I felt she should interact with. But in the overall context...I still didn't mind the exit. Though it was abrupt.    I did like hearing that Noah and Allie are still together. And don't get me started on the offscreen Mariah drama.
    • I'm sure old Reva/Josh fans saw the writing on the wall--and this was their pattern. They (or usually Josh) was so angry that they'd spend months yelling at each other, and then "boom", they were macking up on each other, regardless of who else they were entangled with. (This is the couple who slept together under HB's roof while Reva was married to him, after all.) "Always". *gag me*
    • I don't think we've seen the last of Erica Kane. That's something I will continue believing in.
