Wouldn’t it be so nice if Leo was killed off while Ron was on strike? I know it’s not happening, but it’s nice to dream about. Hopefully, they’ll be a lot less prop writing at least.

I enjoyed Nicole’s therapy session with Marlena. Ari is still killing it. And I’m glad that Nicole confessed that, for a time, she did wish that the baby was Eric’s. With the way that Ari’s always played it, you could always tell that, deep down, Nicole wanted that. And I like that Nicole is now determined to be a good mother to Holly. Once Eric and Nicole reunite, Holly finding out the truth about her father’s death could be a really good storyline.

Btw, Eric has a job?

As for Konstantin, I still can’t stand him but I am a little interested in him knowing John from the past or wherever. I wonder if this was in Ron’s plan or if this is a strike story. It could be good. I just hope that it doesn’t contradict John’s already convoluted backstory.

That’s for sure lol

And besides, it’s been SIX AND A HALF YEARS!!!

Even if things were going good, it would still be time for a change

I like Harris as well. And its always good to see SB play someone that’s not a Jason clone, or Jason like at all.

Was it Mia?

Give Ron a chance under Janet’s production. I’m sure you’ll see that the problem was always Alarr.

Meanwhile, Days needs to fire its lousy script editor Fran Meyers as well as ALL of their script writers. They are the actual problem with the writing on Days.

——————————

Have you noticed continuity often doesn’t line up with previous episodes? That’s Fran’s job to catch and correct and she simply doesn’t do it.

Her son Henry Newman is a nepo hire.

In addition, Fran cuts mentions of history, including references that are often important to upcoming story.

She’s foul. She needs to go.

I’m so tired of people like Fran getting away with her nonsense and not being held accountable by the show or the audience. And I’m so tired of Ron being the scapegoat for things he’s not even responsible for. Alarr’s biases played a heavy role in the writing, particularly over the last couple of years. Ron has to work within certain parameters. He doesn’t have carte blanche.

4.2/10

Doesn't Konstantin rolling his ankle feel similar to the last excuse he used to stay in Salem?  Much like the tablecloth he bought Maggie for Christmas feels like a repeat of the lace he bought her earlier and pretended it was from Greece?  What's up with the déjà vu in this story?

Also, kind of humorous to see Black-Patch rough up Konstantin considering they're like two years younger than him.  When John picked him up, I expected his back to go out.

Also, today I got why everyone goes to Marlena for therapy, despite the fact that she's a psychiatrist in a hospital without a private practice.  Nicole, Eric, and Harris don't have any friends.  So, they use their insurance to talk to Marlena.  It's not therapy.  It is just a substitute for not to talking to themselves aloud like they did in the James Reilly days.

Finally, I'm sure Maggie knows John's backstory, but I wonder if she was in town when he first moved to Salem?  I know Maggie spent some time in New York, so I'd like to know if she met John when he thought that he was Roman?  Just so she'll have some perspective when the whole Konstantin tale is revealed.

I liked today's episode.  Loved the Marlena/Nicole scenes.  No matter how unrealistic it was for Marlena to be her psychiatrist.  I thought Ari was great!

I was cracking up at Drake literally only having one line today.  Why was he just sitting in a chair watching Steve threaten Konstantin.  So weird lol.

@j swiftI am 99% sure Maggie was in town when John/Roman showed up.  I believe she was gone from 84-85. She definitely knew John as Roman and had scenes with him.

I'll be honest, the Paris webisodes were pretty boring IMO.  Austin being in them was weird, but I do think it's one of the first Li Shin appearances!  Unless you're a Chad/Abby completionist (which I am certainly not) I can't really recall anything too exciting happening.   The Last Blast webisodes were much better.

    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
    • Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!

    • So, I have been in the hospital all week. I am close to being up to date on my soaps. Now I have to go to the Infusion Ctr daily to get IV antibiotics, for 6 weeks. I am frankly exhausted. A hospital is no place to be when you're sick. Hooked up to machines that go beep beep beep all day & night long. Someone wakes you up every hour on the hour for something, either to stick you with needles or to take your gosh-awful blood pressure for the umpteenth time. So, you don't get any sleep. Now I have a central line, upper right chest. After they "installed" it, I said, I am now Borg. They just stared at me. Apparently scifi is not general knowledge. What happened? I have an infection inside my big toe right foot & it burned the skin on my foot. The burned skin is already better. It was like a bad sunburn. The infection inside the toe is the issue. Oral antibiotics won't even get its attention. So, IV antibiotics plus time.

As Salem bids farewell to John Black on Monday, the "Days" family and fans say a final goodbye to Drake Hogestyn.   From his time as a young man playing baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees to his almost four-decade run as John Black, Drake always did his best. And, while becoming a soap opera icon, he spent almost 40 years at "Days" telling the best stories and taking the younger cast under his wing to make sure they would do their best as well. Thank you, Drake, for the legacy you have left for everyone at "Days." The impact you made on the cast, crew and fans will never be forgotten...and that's a fact.
    • I found an interview with Joseph Breen (Will Jeffries) where he mentions that Reva was put in a coma so Zimmer could go to Hollywood to do a pilot (OMG, if ONLY it had been picked up, LOL) and that Sonni and Josh and Will became a popular with the audience while she was out of commission.  If you want to read the whole thing: https://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?id=47394 Breen was known for being very candid in interviews, I wish I could find more of them. I seem to recall he made a couple of snarky comments about Zimmer, implying she was not above acting like a diva. Sounded to me like he had a lot of respect for Forbes (who went on to have a very strong and varied career after GL).
    • I was so confused why Devon was prying into Nicks love life and then it clicked and I remembered they’re brother-in-laws. Shows how little I pay attention to this show anymore. I was like uh? Do these two even know each other this well?
    • The Bell soaps, B&B and Y&R: cannot watch. If I went by the last time I did I would have to give them both D- but I really don't think it counts when you're not a daily watcher.  DAYS: B+ (Now this is with the knowledge that for years I have given this show a D- because I've been a fan for too long to give it the F it deserved.) GH: A+ (With Korte driving this bus to me the show is so much better! IMO we just had the best NB in so many years I cannot count!) BTG: A solid (Things I love, a few I do not, nothing I hate, still find it in general remarkable.) As always, thanks for doing this thread. I count it. I always look for it & I always post.
    • Okay, I continue to maintain that what is so good about this particular reveal followed by umbrella storyline is that you can see & understand many different points of view where there is not one bad guy or one 100% right person.  About your stated opinion, that Lois & Gloria did the right thing, you know that this was technically an illegal adoption? For it to have been legal the father, if known, would have to have been informed & have signed off on terminating his own paternal rights. And, of course, it is clear how many people they lied to.  Personally I feel like Lois is going to take the biggest "public" blame with Lulu a close second in the blame category. I am looking forward to a tongue lashing I hope Brook Lynn gives to Gloria. I continue to be more than annoyed with Dante. First his attitude toward Gio with regards to Rocco & a drinking game & its results. Second his attitude toward Lulu. Meanwhile enjoying the show every day!
    • Lois and Gloria did the right thing I feel knowing it was Camila that raised Gio has BL feeling some jealousy No one is saying that Camila was a bad mother to Gio I believe it will be Gio saying that Camila was great to him, thanking Lois and Gloria to get BL to see truth
