A lot of historical references in todays episode. So many, you would think it was a Jamey episode. But they weren’t random and actually made sense considering the dialogue. Plus, the episode itself wasn’t bad either

It’s always nice to see a little romance, regardless of which couples are featured. Except for Dimitri/Leo. They make me sick lol

I did like Tripp comforting Wendy about Li’s death. Plus, Tripp looked hot

And I did kind of like Harris and Ava’s date too, even if Ava did overdo it on the speaking of Italian. But it’s always good  when Harris does more than just be a Jason clone. They should really build up a friendship/relationship with Jada as well. They could turn to each other in the aftermath of this drug mess, and after the storyline coming up for Jada. She really should be freed from Rafe lol And agreed with Harris that the pasta does need to be al dente

Not really sure why Stefan didn’t tell Chad the truth though. He wants Clyde dead more than anybody lol Chad being brought in to Stefan’s storyline could actually have effects on his storyline with Stephanie/Everett, which could be interesting to see. I’m looking forward to Chad/Stephanie’s scenes tomorrow now that she knows the truth.

And yeah, Xander’s still a dummy for not giving Gwen a heads up about the lie

I was reminded of how much I questioned her obsession of him when I was regularly watching

like She so much younger, Very Attractive, Has A rather successful career, etc. What exactly Eric Has to offer, He is hot (not as much with the look he's sporting these days) but that is not enough to obsess over and get married to them, When I personally obsessed with someone at least it was a person I liked in many different levels, the looks being one of the least important ones

I found today interesting because everything was so parallel. Rafe/Jada, Wendy/Tripp, Ava/Harris & the one different one Steph/Everett. Each had a task or two. Each had conversation. 3 out of 4 had romance. Dancing led to kissing which led to making out which led to sex. Just like an assembly line. Rafe & Jada had a toast but it was so nonchalant I couldn't even grab a snap of it. Steph thought it was perfectly okay to call her uncle Shane as Head of the ISA to find out who bought Rice Chex's half of the paper. So entitled & take resources for granted. So regimented. I bet this is a new scab writer.

I think Sloan's switch from a career minded women not looking for commitment to marriage and a baby was lightning fast.  I think the appeal of Eric is that he is just a nice, honest, basically normal guy.  I don't Sloan ever had that in a romantic partner.  She's had a lot of trauma, she has no family, I can see her clinging to Eric as the only stability in her life.  I know that hasn't exactly been expressed on screen and I am giving it more thought than the writers have, but it's how connected the dots here.

Eric does seriously need to get a job though.   Even if it just helping Roman manage the pub.  I need to pretend he makes some money here.

Yeah, but I thought he hasn't worked as one since he left Basic Black.  Maybe he is doing his own shows-I totally missed that.  He doesn't reference it often.  Where does he develop and store these photos though?  Unless they are all old ones.

Honestly, if the show did say that-it works for me.  At least it's something.  Even if the show just said Eric wanted to be a stay at home dad that would be interesting.  I know no one really works on soaps, but most of the characters at least reference the jobs they have.

    • The Saturday 8pm slot usually had the lowest rating of the NBC 4 sitcom lineup for some reason. NBC let Saturday night fizzle, They used 9.30 pm to launch 227 and Amen, both of which moved to earlier in the evening but they  kept Empty Nest following GG for several seasons.  Empty Nest should have moved to 8pm with their strongest new sitcom at 9.30, anticipating that GG would eventually falter. Instead they left them there and stretching the sitcom pool too thinly on other nights. When Grand talk over at 9.30 Thurs maybe Night Court and Wings could have been used on Saturday.
    • @Maxim Great to see your mini-reviews again. There are a number of clips on Youtube of Janice's slow mental breakdown. Christine Jones is just superb. She played the hell out of that role. Something which isn't referenced as much later on is how Mitch pushed Janice's doubts and mental instability for his own ends...until suddenly he didn't want to anymore (I guess he caught on with the audience and the show became wary). I don't want to post a bunch of clips, but this one has a very good confrontation between Rachel and Janice.

    • It really made Oscar the Doorman seem like an imbecile.   I think the show's unusual format & subject manner is what makes EON often seem less "dated" and "old-fashioned" than other shows from that time period.  It never attempted to be especially "trendy" or "modern" -- and its film noir style is pretty timeless.
    • Dallas, Dynasty, Knots and Falcon Crest all had good runs but by 85 they had seen better days. I think they were a victim of the format. After several seasons seeing the same characters front and center viewers were bored. What was once fascinating grew predictable. JR, Alexis etc had to be front and center and after a while their schemes and shtick grew repetitive. JR remarrying Sue Ellen, Alexis constantly trying to get he better of Blake etc Unlike daytime, there wasn't the flexibility to bring in other stories and characters and maybe let the likes JR go backburner. That same mentality also invaded daytime with characters like  Sonny and Victor still peddling the same stuff after decades. I guess the same could be said for MSW eg every week Jessica encounters a crime and solves it,but I think viewers come to that format with a different mindset.
    • Daphnee and Trisha did a live stream on Instagram and confirmed they find out if the show gets picked up in May. This pretty much confirms they're on the primetime schedule like the Bell soaps. Fingers crossed we get a multi-year renewal announcement soon!  https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJSsYb7PDv8/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
    • I don't think Lois the character was there.  The Lois we knew from the 90s has pretty much died with this  Gio story crap.
    • Have to agree re MM. The goody two shoes character and writing doesn't help but maybe a more dynamic actor would help Brandon lift his game also. I found the song sequence a little OTT. First of all it should have been shorter and maybe the song fades out and just some music to accompany the montage. I think it would have worked better if Anita had have been alone after everyone left and started tinkling leading into the song, with Vernon coming in observing and then joining her for  a close moment. Everyone standing around felt a little too much. And that closing effect with the two blackscreens meeting was unnecessary. Just a fade out would have been enough.

    • And sadly I think that’s the trivia Both Jeanne Cooper and Eric Braeden went with for years and years. Lol
    • But people were hating so bad on amc and the final year and the ratings sucked. Business wise they made the right call. Oltl who even gained some ratings back and weren’t they higher as GH at one point is a decision and never understood.
