But leave it to DAYS to get rid of the guy the week he does his best acting.

He's been so below average for so long, and then those therapy scenes with Marlena show up -- and he was more than believable. He made me care about the character beyond the pretty face.

Two days later, Ron C kills him off. Because of course he does.

I think Li's murder will probably stick.  I really don't see any reason to bring him back.  He's barely connected to anyone on the canvas especially with the upcoming exits.  I am interested in who killed him because he was so random and I don't even know who would care enough to kill him.  I don't even believe Gabi cared enough to kill him lol

I hope they don't leave the phonecall to Gabi as a loose end.  Why did Li call Gabi to say that stocks were fake, if the board had already certified the vote?  It seems like a red herring to suggest that Li setup Gabi.  But how could someone stab themselves in the back?

For tomorrow's anniversary I turned to Maureen Russell's book & wrote about the beginning of the show. I was going for "feel good", great memories, what a legacy, yeah, I held it together until I was pleased with the words & added a picture from the first episode & then sent it on its way & then I just felt so let down.  What we have now is so fracking far away from their dream that it was like being gut-punched. OOF!

I just checked the records, and we've had one birth and two weddings on the actual November 8 episodes:

Birth # 3. 11/8/68 (Episode # 758): Michael Horton.

Wedding # 113. 11/8/11 (Episode # 11711): Victor/Maggie.
Wedding # 129. 11/8/18 (Episode # 13465): John/Marlena.

The only other birth or wedding to take place between November 6 and November 10 is

Wedding # 99. 11/9/07 (Episode # 10695): EJ/Sami.

Happy 58th Anniversary, Days!!!

I liked John/Marlena today. It’s always nice to see a couple just be sweet and romantic with one another. And I loved the gift that Eric and Brady got them. I did chuckle a little bit when John mentioned supply chain issues; goes to show you how far back this was written lol

Glad that Steve realized that Konstantin is full of crap. I wouldn’t mind him and Kayla becoming a part of this storyline.

Still not feeling EOB as Theresa though. She seems to come off more like a drunk trophy wife as opposed to the Theresa that we’ve always seen. And is she ever gonna have a scene with her son?

And what was going on with Xander’s hair? It almost looked like a toupee that got caught in the wind

    • Thursday & Friday's episodes were excellent. The build-up was most definitely worth the wait (2 months). TMG, I can't give her enough accolades. AM, was also absolutely incredible. I think the fallout is going to have a ripple effect. The little clues that have been dropped,  hopefully, will weave seamlessly to reveal even bigger bombshells for the Dupree's and Martin.
    • Thanks, msn drives me nuts on the one hand but on the other hand their headlines appeal to me. And, I just don't do FoxNews.  She is trolling this thread.
    • The link doesn't work.  The actual link is this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/composer-leonard-bernstein-s-children-request-his-music-be-played-in-the-kennedy-center-in-rebuke-to-trump/ar-AA1E7gw5 That's a reprint of a FoxNews article. MSN reprints stuff from many sources. You can tell the source from the logo above the headline on the msn page. The FoxNews article is describing what Leonard Bernstein's children wrote -- as a "letter to the editor" of the New York Times. Instead of reading it filtered through FoxNews, here is the original: "Our Dad, Leonard Bernstein, Would Want His Music Played at the Kennedy Center" https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/opinion/kennedy-center-leonard-bernstein-protest.html Non-paywall archived copy of the same NYTimes letter, without commentary: https://archive.is/QaLqD
    • Might be a long shot, because I can't find a thing online about it, but I was Googling the actress that played Nell Cleary (Frank's cop friend that went through academy and then became cops together during the entire Brent Lawrence storyline). To my surprise, she passed away in 2011, at the very young age of 45. I can't find her obituary or anything online about her passing, but I'm curious, does anyone know what happened? Her IMDB only shows a few other acting gigs post-Guiding Light, so she didn't make a career out of it, but I thought she was a great actress in her role as Cleary. Her name was Mary Peterson.
    • What was Ruth Martin's association to the Thornton family?  I only remember the daughter that dated Tad, and she had a buxom mother.  But, did Ruth date David Thorton before Joe?

Why didn't Steve respect Monica and Jeff's decision?  I get he's Jeff's father, and that's how it came out, but I don't like the ethics of the story. A stranger gets to make life or death decisions over a wife's demands?   I hope Monica secretly never forgave Steve's chauvinism.
    • Question: Jon-Michael Reed's review of 1977 is up in the retro soap section.  It includes a fleeting reference to comedic scenes between Jeanne Cooper and Julianna McCarthy regarding “Kay's would-be beau, Ralph the Plumber”.  Could someone please fill me in will more details? I forgot that Kay and Liz were friendly before Jill stole Kay's husband.  And the thought of Liz playing a comedic scene blows my mind, because I only recall her being dour both in demeanor and wardrobe.
    • I said this on Twitter on Friday when Leslie mentioned Chicago, so perhaps she might be related to one of Anita's bandmates. In addition, Leslie did say she grew up listening to The Articulettes too.
    • There was a scene in the past week or two with Leslie looking at some papers and mementos, which included an invitation or souvenir from Alan's memorial service or funeral -- it was dated as November 2024. Me just guessing but it seems to me that Martin's nightmares about the accident are from something longer ago than November.
    • ah thanks! do you know who the third one was in the blonde? the fifth one i know ive seen before in the brown wig but i forgot, and then ive never seen the psychic one before lol
