In real time, Nicole should be giving birth in January, (given that the biscuits were drugged in April).  What are the chances that? :

(A) She gives birth around Christmas

(B) The baby is stolen and adopted by Sloan

or

(C) Since they are SORASing her daughter, she's not going to carry this baby to term.

BTW, given Belle's history of being sold on the black market, she's not a good candidate to work as Eric's adoption attorney (too traumatic while her husband is hitting rock bottom).  Although it is nuts that Salem is so small that you could be a prosecutor one day, and an adoption attorney the next.

Also, does Sloan have any clients left in Salem? How is she paying her half of the rent?

These sort of things always cracks me up on soaps - not like attorneys tend to specialise in certain sections of the law or something, same thing with doctors. Not that I'm complaining really since it gives characters stuff to do, plus the budget isn't there to hire more people anyway.

Today was an improvement over yesterday. And the cliffhanger? Damn lol

I really didn’t expect it. And if what may happen actually does happen, Leo and Dimitri definitely do deserve it. I still think Peter Porte was totally wasted, his character in general and the pairing with Leo

Speaking of that POS, I’m looking forward to Monday and I really, really hope we’re not let down. Too bad Gwen said to Kristen that she doesn’t want to kill anybody though lol

Switching gears, see ya Sonny! We’ll miss you and hope to see you again soon. I still can’t believe that even with Zach’s schedule, they managed to get him to have a scene with Leo. Not that many family scenes, no scenes with Chad or Paul and Andrew (btw where’d they go) but scenes with Leo. This show and its priorities.

I did enjoy his scenes today. Literally the best thing about Alex since he showed up was that relationship he had with Sonny. Today was a great example of that and it would be pretty stupid to squander it. There are a lot of rumors floating around about this storyline and I really hope they turn out to be true.

And WTG, Maggie! I couldn’t help but laugh a little when she sent Vivian packing.

Oy vey, more guns is not what I was looking forward to today.  Can't they all go back to drugging each other with martinis?

As we have all discussed many times before, the idea that an adult would go through an identity crisis because their biological paternity was recently revealed in their mid-30s is a farce.   I do not know any real person who suddenly start calling the only dad they've ever known cousin.  That's just silly.

I would approve if Alex was guilty about getting 50% of the inheritance over the rest of his family.  Or, if he worried about how he'll run the company.  But, having Sonny begging him to see that they are still brothers, while he got bupkis from Victor is a little rude.

And, once again, does nobody recall that Johnny still lives at the mansion?  They all have breakfast, or cocktails, and they never invite him to come downstairs.

The best part was Zach Tinker and his scenes with Suzanne Rogers and You know who.

It's a shame Ron refuses to write for any gay character not named Leo.

I did enjoy SR and LS scenes too. LS never disappoints.

I was going to write on what's so wrong with the episode but instead I kept wondering how great Douglas Marland would've written the episode.

The ending was shocking. But it also ask the question why?

Maybe I am misunderstanding your question, but it appears the Vivian shot Dimitri because he was going to shoot her son Stefan, which mimics her entry story of when she shot someone for holding a gun on her "dear nephew" Lawrence.

Of course! Ron loves to repeat history but seems to always fail. I forget that Vivian is Stefan mother. It's is easy to forget since they've hardly interacted since she's been back.

It's interesting how Vivian had a gun handy.

She's a criminal and of course shouldn't posses any weapons of course the whole Dimera are thugs and carry guns so never mind.

The Leo/Dmitri situation escalated so quickly.  It was played as wacky hijinks for weeks and now it's jumped to actual murder.  There wasn't a lot of progression from 20 questions with Rachel and Leo dressing up as Gwen to multiple acts of gun violence.

Marlena/Kate are still randomly in this episode gossiping at the Pub.  Marlena actually called Sloan's apartment 'spacious', so clearly she's been living with one too many of houseguests for too long.

I don't have much to say about the rest of the episode.  Alex is being weird and Sonny is a great brother.

Yeah, it's funny that when Eric moved in with Sloan he never mentioned that Dick Van Dyke took over his bedroom, leaving the impression that since Brady and Rachel had their own rooms, that's at least a four bedroom penthouse!  It's a good thing that homes in Salem don't need bathrooms, (other than the occasional shower for sex).

    • Hotel was The Love Boat on land but a little soapier. I will forever maintain that Hotel was a time slot hit. I don't believe that 1983/84 Hotel was a better show than Knots Landing.

    • The timing is strange, though. How far in advance would they normally be on location? The Achille Lauro hijacking was on October 7, 1985. Nancy had arrived in Egypt in the storyline by October 18. But the character of Hawk, Chris' Native American friend from Arizona, had already appeared onscreen by September and brought a letter telling Chris to be in Egypt by October 25th.  Why did they already have the link to Arizona before the reason to cancel the shoot in Egypt?  The dust and the jar it came in were from Egypt though. Nancy bought it there and sent it to Mac as a gift before she came back to the states and followed Chris to Arizona.
    • Actually that is not what happened. Nor is the timing right for it to have been. We learned from a WOST interview with Pete Lemay  in 2006, which can be found on YT, that it was Fred Silverman's idea to do the 90 minute show. I don't know how much you know about him but he had these amazing successes as head of daytime at both ABC & at CBS. Then he came to NBC where basically everything he touched turned NOT TO GOLD but to shite. Some of the most expensive shows ever produced up to that time were huge flops. Although even he, like a broken clock, could be right on occasion. However, as we know, he was not right about the 90 minute show. As a matter of fact, afterward,  NBC programmers, who worked FOR him, were asked why they did it & they were quoted as saying it was because they couldn't think of anything else to try. It was a stupid idea from a man who had reached the point where he was throwing anything at the wall to see if it would stick.

    • I stopped watching Another World in 1990. Simply, lost interest in the show.  I had watched the show from 1973 to 1990. The 90 minute show started the decline of AW.  NBC panicked with expanding AW due to the GH hoopla. As mentioned above, 1982 was a trainwreck for AW.  The introduction of the Shea family, the movie storyline involving Jamie, and Steve Frame favoring Rachel over Alice. The writers went into that direction due to the forgettable performance of Linda Borgeson.

    • Ive seen that theory thrown out but the one thing against it is that Leslie and her family lived in Chicago. She only came back to DC last year after her husband died. Unless they say Alan made a trip to DC and died while away, she wouldnt know about that. However I do think the angle of her finding out that Martin was involved could work as that gives her leverage against Bill too for covering it up. She'd want to get revenge on him by threatening to have him disbarred
    • What a good write-up @Errol! Nice seeing the nod to Duplaix's lead.
    • The Egypt location shoot was cancelled because of the Achille Lauro cruise ship hijacking
