“General Hospital” (2.122 million), “The View” (2.305 million) and “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna” (1.442 million) were the standout performers among Total Viewers during the week of June 19-23, 2023. Not only did the three shows see improvement week-to-week, but they were also up year-to-year in the category.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” (2.907 million) was up over the week ago period, and so was “GMA3: What You Need to Know” (1.473 million). Also up week-to-week was “NBC News Daily” (1.137 million) which managed to stop the bleeding in Women 18-49 after multiple weeks of hitting a 0.1 rating.

Year-to-year increases went to “The Price is Right” (3.731 million / 4.299 million), “The Young and the Restless” ( 3.178 million), the second half-hour of “Let’s Make a Deal” (2.545 million) and “TODAY 3rd Hour” (1.896 million).

Most daytime broadcast shows were preempted, amended or broken out on Thursday, June 22 due to ongoing news coverage of the missing submarine.

What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of June 19-23, 2023 in Women 18-49 Rating, Women 25-54 Rating, Households and Total Viewers, including a look at their comparable performance last year (2022) and two years ago (2021), respectively. A closer look at the daytime soaps, including their daily performance breakdown in the demos, will be posted Thursday.

Y&R: I'm surprised numbers are down with Sally's miscarriage, and Cameron's story coming to a head.

B&B: 48,000 more eyeballs tuned in for Italy, not sure if that is a decent number or bad.

    • NBC must have been grateful to have LHOTP, it's only hit and still strong after several seasons. Their next established show was Rockford Files at 45th. They didn't develop any comedies and relied on movies and mini series  which didnt establish viewer loyalty and habits. Their only new hit was mid season's Project UFO which debuted Feb up against Rhoda/On Our Own on CBS and How the West Was Won on ABC. It opened with a strong 36 share beating CBS and close to ABC as HTWWW had a 36 share over 3 hours. The next week UFO saw a respectable 32 share, then a 31 so it was slipping. A 28 share followed but a few weeks later it jumped back up to a 34. So no blockbuster but compared to what else they had, there was potential, So next season NBC sent it to Thursday up against Mork and The Waltons and it bombed.  They were smart to see potential in Chips, which took off on Saturdaysnext season. ABC was on a roll with Love Boat, 3's Company, Taxi, Eight is Enough adding to their hits. Their only real flops were Redd Foxx and San Pedro Beach Bums, an Aaron Spelling misfire. Like Redd Foxx, Harvey Korman was lured to ABC but his series was a filler that did well but was considered a time slot hit. Nancy Walker and Rob Reiner were also given series on the philosophy that not only were they popular names, their absence from popular shows like Sanford, Rhoda and All in the Family might weaken those shows. CBS were relying on old favorites. Betty White was strong the first few weeks then faded. Incredible Hulk was their strongest newbie. It was lucky for CBS that NBC was doing so badly or else some of their weaker shows would have really suffered.
    • That outfit looks like something Martin would wear lol.
    • Omg not we both ran into people from the show this weekend!
    • I guess he was let out the gates, because he's outside.
    • Yup.  You can hate John all you want, but like seriously he was the cornerstone of the show for years.  So he should get a long ass funeral and burial and all the things because Drake and John deserve that.

      look who’s at a party I’m at
    • Yes. We should absolutely move on from John/Drake's 40 year legacy on the show to see what Leo is going to do tomorrow.  Lol.  This can't be a serious post.

I came in with a dream and left with a purpose. From lecture halls to rehearsals, community work to creative sets, every moment shaped me. I’m so proud of the stories I’ve told here — and the ones still unfolding. Grateful to everyone who poured into me, supported me, challenged me, and believed in me. Fours up and peace out! #UCLA #ClassOf2025 #BlackBruinExcellence #YearbookVideo @jordanward
    • The actor who plays Martin has been teasing that nobody has guessed Martin's secret. I love that for things like that and the June story we have no idea. I feel like if we didn't have the day ahead feeds Anita's reveal would've been shocking as well. I love that they aren't going the obvious route with these stories.
