It’s finally 2023, and “General Hospital” is officially ready to celebrate its 60th anniversary. The series which premiered April 1, 1963 on ABC is currently the longest running drama on television, surpassing “Guiding Light” in late 2020.

To honor the show’s longevity, ABC has released a brand new promo featuring cast members asking viewers to raise their glass and join them in the celebration. The show is also prompting viewers to use the hashtag “GH60” when discussing the show on social media in addition to its regular hashtags, “GH” and “GeneralHospital.”

Just as Y&R ignores the day ahead in terms of air dates, American TV networks ignore international markets in terms of historical milestones. Example: GOAT ignores a BAFTA, which is more prestigious than some of the awards that make up GOAT.

Do you mean EGOT?

I have to say the most exciting part of that promo for me was seeing Brook Kerr with a different hairstyle for the first time in 20 years. I wonder if it's for the wedding or if she just wanted to straighten her hair.
