Gregory Harrison, Gregory Chase, General Hospital, GH, GH ABC, #GH, #GeneralHospital

According to a recent update to the show’s credits, Gregory Harrison is now on contract at “General Hospital.”

The actor joined the daytime drama series in November 2020 in the then recurring role of Gregory Chase, the father of Finn (Michael Easton) and Chase (Josh Swickard). After disappearing from the scene in mid-2021, the character returned to Port Charles in April of this year. The role was previously portrayed by James Read for a four-and-a-half-month run in 2018.

Before appearing in Port Charles, Harrison made a name for himself when he played Dr. George Alonzo “Gonzo” Gates in the popular series “Trapper John, M.D.” He later starred as Michael Sharpe in the primetime soap “Falcon Crest.” He followed that up with a starring role as Jack Taylor in “The Family Man.” The actor would go on to appear in multiple episodes of “Strong Medicine,” “Joey,” “One Tree Hill,” “Ringer,” “Rizzoli & Isles,” and more recently “Chesapeake Shores,” among his other numerous television and film credits.

Fans of Harrison who would like to meet the actor in person are in luck. He’ll be appearing at the RomaDrama Live!, an event where stars from romantic comedies, Christmas movies, soaps and more will get up close and personal with their biggest fans. The event is taking place during the weekend of June 24-26, 2022 from the Palm Beach Convention Center in West Palm Beach, FL. There will be meet & greets, selfies, autograph signings, photo opportunities, and even Q&As. For more information about the event, click here.

Since the last time we reported on changes to the show’s contract cast, the series has added Tanisha Harper as Jordan Ashford, Tabyana Ali as Trina Robinson, Robert Gossett as Marshall Ashford, Michael Kruse as Rory Cabrera and Josh Kelly as Cody Bell to its roster. In total, the soap currently has 36 actors under contract with several dozen more working in a recurring capacity.

I like Gregory Harrison. But his boring character isn't needed. I doubt his romance with Alexis will be anything meaningful or interesting. Sometimes i wonder how big GH's budget is. Gregory Harrison isn't cheap. Neither is Comet the horse and his lush stable set.

He is VERY good looking and can act, but is he needed? No. I feel like Alexis has options on the canvas if they wanted to give her a love interest. GH's cast is becoming so bloated that the stories are dragging and so much of the cast is wasted.

    • I think Dani cares about her sister, but I agree with you. She's using this whole mess to be heard and make herself feel better. I wish Ted and Eva told her to fck off. I had to laugh when Dani commented on her and Anita confronting Ted. She acted as if they destroyed him. That's not what I saw. Dani has been dialed back from those first weeks, but I can't say she's likable. As long as she's throwing shade at Eva for her work as a hairstylist -- while ignoring that she did nothing except eat celery sticks and walk the runway -- she can kiss off. Barely tolerable, and Lindstrom is terrible in the role. I don't find him scary at all, and his money laundering plan is stupid as hell. I gagged when he texted Vanessa to ask if she was thinking about him. That's throw up time.   I just don't see how that makes Ashley any more interesting. And are we really asking for another storyline where a father connects with his adult daughter? I know there's no direct parallel to Eva's story, but come on. If you're in the minority, I'll join you. I have zero interest in any of that. -- I still fail to see Nicole and Vanessa as best friends. Nicole is grounded and stable and responsible, and Vanessa is not. It made more sense to have Dani and Vanessa being close. -- Ashley and Derek were actually OK today. I feel sorry for the actors, honestly, because they've been given nothing. It's crazy, because so much of the rest of the show is firing on all cylinders.
    • Same. But given how the writers like to have her have good moments and bad moments...and Dani has been background as of late...it's about time she had some bad moments.
    • I don’t even know why you responded to the bait.
    • I only watch for Sharon and she’s barely on. The only good thing going at the moment is Jack and Diane scenes and they’ve made Diane such a wuss lately which is making that unbearable to watch too
    • I feel like Earl Hamner and his crew brought in Richard* BECAUSE they knew almost right away that Robert Foxworth was so dull as Chase.  At any event, Richard, IMO, proved to be much more interesting as Angela's chief adversary. (*Or brought him back, depending on whether we're including the original "Vintage Years" pilot).
    • And it will also eventually air S2, which will air its finale in Canada this Thursday, May 15th! https://tvline.com/news/law-and-order-toronto-criminal-intent-season-1-2-the-cw-1235449356/ As an American that has managed to watch it in real time, it's very good. Frankly, I think it's the best of the L&O franchise as of now.
    • You are getting like me. It's getting to the point that without any Damian sightings...it's been the fashion that is holding my interest. And it should not be that way at all.
    • I don't mind Jan either. If anything, they could be using her more to get her daughter's POV. Not to mention her role as one of the Have-Nots.    I also don't mind the local talent. Just look at soaps that were in NY or the shows that film there, they always go for the local talent and we get to find new faves.
