Dropped story alert! In the Dec. 3, 1987 episode that @MrEdge80s has just uploaded, Charlene reminds Lucy that she's the only one who knows "the truth about what you did as a girl." The music used for the scene is rather ominous, which makes me wonder what they had in mind. Lucy, Charlene, and one of Charlene's men in a Cheryl Crane-Lana Turner situation? Lucy as a Bad Seed? I'm glad they 86ed this. We really didn't need another Laurelton.

Twin Peaks

I'm in my Twin Peaks Fall re-rewatch (and times like this that I miss the dance club I used to go to in Chicago called Berlin that used to have a Twin Peaks night back in the 2010s)... some have Gilmore Girl Fall.. I have Twin Peaks Fall
The Evelyn Marsh story could have worked had the story been in Twin Peaks proper, and perhaps involved a recurring character that we'd seen on the show before the start of the story. And I co-sign that James being drawn/obsessed with Evelyn asn't OOC.. he was haunted by Laura and being unable to save her so he thought this was a second chance to save someone in need. You would have needed to cast a Theresa Russell (she was the femme fatale in the little remembered 80s neo noir Black Widow) type.. or even a Sean Young type to play the Evelyn Marsh character.. and interact with them with the rest of the show.
I viewed the Gordon Cole/Shelley Johnson story as both a way for Lynch to work with Ms. Amick (who had a unique presence) and also to show Shelley that there were some men that valued her.. and I do agree that Shelley/Bobby reuniting was probably due to the season ending and maybe to give the show one happy ending.
And I still would have had Audrey win Miss Twin Peaks as a twist and to have Windom Earle take her into the Black Lodge.. with Cooper again going in to try to save her with the ending of season 2 being open ended because Cooper isn't Cooper... is Audrey really Audrey. And had there been a season 3.. continue to develop Annie as a character in her own right (Heather Graham had such a warm and soothing presence.. her Corrinne Dollanganger Foxworth was pretty impressive in the FITA movie series on Lifetime).
Lana had potential as a black widow... but I would have presented her in a less comedic way.
Ben and Catherine's season 2 arcs were bizarre.

Bill is too caught up on Hayley's looks and physical abilities to think she would harm him.
Dani figuring it out is not a huge stretch. She already thinks the worst of Hayley and when Bill mentioned all the food and drinks she had been shoveling in him it was easy to put together. At least we have movement.

Guiding Light Discussion Thread

Robert Calhoun laid all the groundwork but JFP got all the credit. JFP first year got the ratings up but it was helped by ABC big three tanking at various times during that year and Days being in their post-supercouple/pre-Reilly mess era.
Maureen's death changed the show forever. Aftermath of Maureen's death until Nancy Curlee left the writing team was a chore to get through.
Whether we like Reva or not, she was GL's definitive character of the final 25 years.

Fox built their network off the backs of the African-American audience and that's something they seem to have forgotten. Fox always claims that their first big hits were Married with Children, The Simpsons, 90210, Melrose, and X Files, but they never include In Living Color, Martin, Living Single, and New York Undercover in their list of early hits. The shift with Fox was 1993, 1994 with peak 90210, Melrose taking off, X Files premiering, and getting NFL broadcasting rights.

Are we sure that this is (finally) the beginning of the end of the poison story? Because I'm not. We took one step forward today, but I won't be surprised at all if it's again two steps back.
If we're moving to some resolution, why are we getting scenes between Hayley and Izaiah? I don't get that at all.

She called on him for a week's stay to jump start the new year. John played Mikkos look a like black sheep cousin Petros Cassadine. He will leave threatens revenge on Robert and vows to return but never did sadly

DAYS: September 2026 Previews & Spoilers

I haven't seen any specific casting rumers.

I saw "wishful casting" thoughts around social media from viewers thinking(wanting) Ryan Gosling possibly as the "86 baby".
But if (and only if) he appears, it would (obviously) be a cameo, and not a longstanding character.

Current September 2026 airdates would have been filmed in November 2025. Gosling first talked about Deidre in March 2026; and later on there was discussion of inviting him to visit the set. If Gosling taped in April or May 2026, he wouldn't air until early 2027 (unless they shoehorn him into already-taped episodes like they did with John Oliver).

If Gosling ever airs, maybe he'll be someone connected to Marlena's storyline but not her son? I cannot imagine having the "86 baby" air for only a few days.
