What would your major B&B twist be?

No real substantial hints aside Krista Allen praising the twist in a tweet when she got the script and an interview with a line producer(?) who talked about how big it is and mentioned some people wouldn’t like it.   That’s all we have so far.

Thanks! I've been seeing buzz about it on boards and Twitter but couldn't find anything substantial.

Ha! "Stephanie returns, played by a man, since Susan Flannery didn't give a [!@#$%^&*] about appearing feminine for the last decade of her run" or some sh*t.

I do wonder if it involves Phoebe...

Idea: We find out B&B isn't real, but a daytime soap opera that has been on the air since 1987; and then we watch as the show itself transitions into being a show about the BTS doings at a long-running daytime soap.

I still think it’s Steffy-related and has something to do with Sheila keeping her role in Brooke’s ordeal quiet. Maybe she (alongside Thomas?) gets kidnapped and thrown in some secluded hideaway with some unexpected company (whether they be Ronn Moss’s Ridge or Phoebe or someone else). And that will account for JMW’s maternity leave, and her big return will be her and the unexpected company showing up alive in L.A.

Also: potentially sets up a Finn/Hope/Liam triangle.

Which would tie in with the speculation about Phoebe (potentially in a double role for JMW).
But I am still stuck on the "first for daytime" tease.
A lot of stories we have mentioned would be big twists and I'd totally buy it (and some are fun!)... if it wasn't for that particular description which doesn't apply to any of our ideas so far.

That said, I am 100% agreing that it has to be Steffy related. JMW is just about to go on maternity leave, KA is the first one who mentioned the twist, etc.
It just makes sense that it is around Steffy

I wonder if they’re overselling it for hype, but we’ll see. I’ve seen Nelson Branco and Alan Sarapa both tweet that they’ve learned some soap bombshell about which they’ve had to swear to secrecy (or else). I was curious if it was about the person texting Jack on Y&R or the B&B twist.

Well there is some wording ("change the show forever") that can be easily dismissed as hype.

"Never done in daytime" is too specific for them to be able to walk it back so I don't think they would go there, especially since that specific wording isn't necessary to make it seem big, if it wasn't literally true.
And even if it is a "first in daytime" in a narrow technical sense because of some details that differs, it still wouldn't apply to most of the ideas on this thread - and I said that as someone who is impressed by most of them.
Who knows obviously but I tend to think they are actually throwing a Hail Mary here and we have to take it at face value... for now.

    • It's funny you say that because part of the entertainment of the trials on the show are all the day players who come on as witnesses and jurors.  I'm certain it was like the Law and Order of its time. It employed so many New York actors, that if you look close enough, there's usually someone vaguely recognizable in the courtroom.
    • I will defend Dante.  People already suspect he may be a bit unstable from time to time (from his time as a prisoner).  And, he's taking care of other people's kids from time to time.  So, he has reason to be cautious with those in his care.
    • Josh continues to try and milk Abbott/Newman rivalry. First it was Billy/Victoria, then Kyle/Summer, then Noah/Allie (that worked out well) and now Kyle/Claire. Do we have any inkling when Billy Flynn will arrive and who he will play? I'm sure Cole's illness will mostly play offscreen. What's in store for Nick and Sharon? Is it time to put them back together? I can't see any other romantic options. Nick has no children on the canvas to play off, as Christian is never seen. Sharon has only Mariah onscreen.
    • I would appreciate (if they're not coming), for future scripts to refer to them by their iconic hairdos.  For example, if Hope needs to call Chelsea because Bo has Sepsis, I'd like Shawn-D to say, "My Mom called Chelsea (the one with the sassy short black hair) for an update." Also, new rule, if Melanie does return, she needs to dye her hair back to red.  I googled who she was five times during Victor's funeral.

    • Broderick, thank you for all of the info [I edited for space]. I am so grateful for everyone filling in the blanks for me. I suspected the Nora/Eliot scene was very important and it was setting something up but I didn't know what. Can't wait to see it play out. The two actors had such a great back and forth. I should have made the Paige/Patty Hearst connection. I thought Paige was in love with Brian from the first episode I watched but it seemed as if they were brother and sister. Steve kept being affectionate with her so I assumed he was the love interest. Then she was affectionate with someone else and well..she's a very busy woman. I can't wait to see Frances Fisher show up. (I'm trying to be vague because I don't know what would be a spoiler in this storyline) Now it makes sense why Draper would be upset. I didn't get the whole background of why he didn't go to NY. I'm a sucker for good acting, so I might still side with April and Margo, if the writers don't give Draper more to do besides yelling.  He had more chemistry with Logan, but I know that's not happening.  Something else I noticed: the show really takes care with even the smallest parts. The acting is superb. Too often, I noticed on older soaps they don't take care with the recurring or day players (Ryan's Hope was so bad with this that I couldn't make it through some episodes). It's only been six episodes, but so far, the casting department was spot on.
    • I thought Dante was overreacting.  Gio made some mistakes but he's young and he tried.  It's not like he dragged two 14 years to a party and made them get blackout drunk.  Dante can have the initial upset reaction, but to go on and on was a bit much.
    • His (adoptive) nieces.  Chelsea and Stephanie.  I think Abby was involved too, but I am not sure if they are related lol.
    • That was such a dark story. I never liked Swamp girl after that. And then the dating your cousin thing. I think wasn’t Max in a triangle with two of his cousins?
    • Thank you, @j swift.  I'm probably more sympathetic to Draper Scott than most audience members are -- even though I'm absolutely CRAZY about Ann Williams & her bizarre Margo Huntington character

The more I watch these episodes -- and I've watched several of them a zillion times, I'm ashamed to admit -- you realize there's a WHOLE lot of passive-aggressive hostility brewing inside Margo Huntington about Draper.  She wants to take April AWAY from him and recreate the childhood that she never got to experience with April, because of the adoption 25 years ago.  Draper has sense enough to realize how heartless and vindictive Margo really is about other people's lives and their feelings, but he bites his tongue rather than poison his wife's mind about how horrible her mother really is.  And I admire him for that.  He's a sweet boy.
    • Unfortunately, as the 90s wore on, Felicia started wearing as many gray and neutral tones as Giorgio Armani and Donna Karan could produce, and the shoulder pads deflated to a drop sleeve.
