There's a SOD article about the devil. It does jump from Johnny to Belle (sounds like for a very short time), then back into Johnny.

Belle figures out that he's possessed so this is his plan to make people think she's the possessed one instead. The devil jumps into her, Marlena runs into Belle while she's possessed, then the devil jumps back into Johnny. Mess.
