Even Jimmy Fallon made a couple of jokes about Steve Burton's vaccination status in his monologue last night. How often does soap news make the late night monologues?

"Get this. Actor Steve Burton was fired from the soap opera General Hospital because he refused to get vaccinated. They kept showing him evidence that the vaccine is safe, but he had amnesia."

"When he found out he was fired, Burton went up to the producer, threw a drink in his face, slapped him, and yelled 'I'll always love you', then stormed out."

😂😂😂😂😂

Does anyone really believe ratings will go down any further without Steve or Ingo? ABC will continue to produce a tired Sopranos knock-off as they've done since the 1990s.

I don't think ratings changed the last time they were off the show. ABC just continues to go with the status quo.

I thought they went up when Steve was gone.  Coming out of the 50th and Robin is alive story culmination, the show had its best ratings in almost a decade.  He’s certainly not driving ratings success right now.

And yet, they went right back to Sonny overkill, killed off AJ again, and the mess with keeping the OLTL 3.

As the old song goes, 🎼 times have changed, and with the renewed focus on the younger generation of Cam and Spencer, there is less need to relay on the old guard to maintain ratings.

Oh so I was not alone thinking that. Thanks @titan1978. I remembered there was a rating increase as well. But RC was doing great his first year or two of writing.

Soaps don't bring in ratings anymore. They lose viewers to bad stories. GH was without Burton before and they survived. They'll survive again.

Yeah, the show will be fine without them. I know Burton has his stans but the show survived just fine when he left before. And there's no one who's watching this show just for Jax, so that won't affect anything lol.

Well, I can’t say I won’t think of him from now on as the dirtbag of daytime.  Thanks for the post, I never would have seen that otherwise.
