For most of her run I was fine with her. Not a fan but she was decent enough. Not Emmy-worthy at all but the stupidity of the Emmys isn't on her and she was fine.

I think what soured everyone was not so much Nik/Emily who, as overplayed as they were, made sense story-wise.
It was Sonny/Emily. Fair or not, there was no coming back from that.

Sonny and Emily were bad.  I don't necessarily think there was no coming back from that though.  It was generally something that happened that was never spoken of again once they broke up.  It was very creepy, but it's basically all but ignored now.  I thought her and Nik and all their stupid romance stories were more obnoxious.  But Soily was obviously more reviled and offensive.  Anyway, I think Emily/NL were fine and there is still a place for her on the canvas, but, oh well, it's not to be I guess.

Have y’all seen all the Twitter drama? I’ll admit to being shocked. I wonder how that set is...

Then you have Steve Burton clearly making a white power gesture in a scene (while sitting next to a black woman). Many tried to claim it was fake, but people have posted video to prove that isn’t the case.

As a Jewish dude I am obvs sensitive to the kind of wink-nod Nazi shít we see IRL all the time now with racists trying to be cute. But I can't see enough of his hand or the angles there to be certain it isn't just how he positioned himself. My hands do weird stuff sometimes too. I have no doubt Big Steve could be full MAGA but I am not gonna Da Vinci Code that without seeing more.

That Ingo/Mo shít needs disciplining though. Frank won't do a thing.

This is Maurice’s response, which is odd considering it’s underneath Nancy saying she was offended. He should’ve just kept his mouth shut.

These soap stars need to be careful. The press has given them a pass for so long, but all it takes is one story going viral and that could be the end of their career.

What saddens me is that everytime NLG calls them out, she is the one that is made to take her Tweets down and say she was drunk (which to be fair she sometimes is when she is bolder about calling some costars out).
It is the old stereotype of the nut-busting angry nagging liberal harpie winning over the trash that the cast is filled with.

Storywise, you are right. I was more talking about her popularity in the fandom. That's, from my recollection, when the irritation became genuine dislike for her, fair or not.

    • OH, I AM.   And it looks like it's a pretty good episode so I might watch later on this weekend after work cuz I see a lot of scenes with people I actually like. Very happy to see Rocco/Danny appear to be getting story, too.
    • I do agree that a revival of EON would work, if it doesn't fall into doing all of the typical soap opera tropes... which it became guilty of in the final few years of the show with the over abundance of Raven/Sky at the expense of the actual detectives, police, etc. And I know it was mentioned earlier that Raven had lost any true connections on the show with the death of her on screen mother, and the loss of April/Draper/Deborah.. and I do agree with that. I actually thought the show would have done something with the Shelley character that could have connected her to the Raven character.  There were a few scenes where the two would have scenes and size one another up before they would go their separate ways.. so I assumed perhaps they would have been revealed as half-siblings and/or perhaps cousins.  Alas.. not to be.
    • It definitely flowed beautifully. So much that I was annoyed when Vanessa/Doug because I wanted to get back to the party. I know it was intentional to build up tension and suspense. It worked. lol. I'm glad it was there in hingsight because it gave us that great conversation between Doug and Vanessa. Foreshadowing? And yesss!!! This episode was sooo old school soap giving beat after beat after beat leading up to the unveiling of Eva as Ted's daughter. And we still have plenty of fallout/aftereffects to work through.   Speaking of...Bill, Bill, Bill lol. Good to have confirmation HE was the scary lawyer.   I'm sure I will have a busy Monday, but I can't wait for it. I don't know what I'm looking forward to more. Probably Anita vs Silk Press Sheila tbh. And yes, I feel they will be matching each other 'blow for blow.'
    • And if they go there, it could also be tied to Johnny completely cutting him off, possibly going to work for Titan, etc.
    • @AbcNbc247 maybe it is just that they've gone to that well too often, and I don't like when DAYS goes dark, but I'm OK with EJ abusing drugs, and just skipping the whole sobriety part. Side note: experiencing hallucinations of my son killing me would be enough for me to never want to take a pill again.

    • Part of the reason that Courtney worked at OLTL was because the show had an actual character for her to play.  One that was somewhat different than her character on AW, and after the way she was treated over at AW.. it had to have been nice to be courted onto a new soap that actually valued your contributions.
    • I figured the "long" was already implied
    • You'll be very impressed
