Sorry to hear about Gayle's passing. She was also a very known pulp/B-movie actress for years.

That one hurts. As a 90s kid and early 2000s preteen, that music was *everywhere* for a couple of years, and it takes me back to a very different time and place. Here’s hoping he RIP.

Thanks @Faulkner . "Dream Weaver" was a staple of '70s compilation album/CD commercials. The intro has always stayed with me, along with that "ooh, Dream Weaver..." chorus. "Love is Alive," his other hit, is also a great pulsating number. Heartbreaking to hear about all the health problems Weaver had in his last years.

Yeah I have a great fondness for “Dream Weaver” alongside ELO’s “Strange Magic” and “Telephone Line,” which we used to play all summer long during a college job I had (sorting files at a hospital). The video I shared mislabels the song as 1972 (it came out in late ‘75), but there’s something about that era of Beatles/prog rock/R&B-inflected pop that hits right in the sweet spot.

The beginning of that made me think I was about to watch an episode of Goosebumps.

I wasn't entirely off the mark. Apparently, the song inspired Wes Craven's Nightmare on Elm Street.

OMG. I’m just heartbroken about this. She was so ebullient (plus she had young kids). And she was doing so well, but pancreatic cancer is such a brutal disease. The NYC news market has suffered so many losses this year.
