I was watching this morning when they announced it. Cindy Hsu and Mary Calvi could barely hold it together.

I’m totally shocked. I was watching last week too and didn’t even have the slightest idea that they’re may have been something wrong.

RIP

A long time coming and very sad, but I'm glad he's at peace.

I can take or leave a lot of her music, but the stories and feature articles, etc. about Gaga's long friendship with Bennett and how it kept him engaged and happy in his twilight years with Alzheimer's are really touching and beautiful.

So sad about Tony Bennett.

Still, he had a great life before his illness took over.

I think he was the last and longest-lived of that generation of Italian-American singers...Sinatra, Martin, Como, Vale, Lanza, etc.

I just saw this & I was on the phone with one of my oldest friends & I just interrupted her with the sad news. Then we talked about his age & long life, etc. & then about how Lady Gaga thought he hung the moon which I always loved & she told me a story about when she & mutual friends of ours were living in Memphis & Tony Bennett was going to be doing a concert & she paid for tix for herself & these other 2 women so they would go. It was before he was really popular again & Nancy knew somehow that he was both wonderful & very cool, ahead of the rest of us. Lovely story.

May light perpetual shine upon him & may angels guide him to his heavenly rest & may he be met by long-missed family & friends & beloved pets.

    • Corey was the first. Then Ingo 5-6 months later. And then Vince was the last gasp.
    • Funny, that's the one I loved the most!
    • And then to break the trend, Thorsten Kaye (German-British) on OLTL.
    • @ReddFoxx I adored Eva and Leslie's fashions. Bringing back the 80s, LOL.

They're different characters, for sure. Dani is a "Have" but she still has the underdog, aspirational element, and yearning, for Independence. Similar to Erica Kane. When the show gets to digging into Anita's career; I want them to reveal more unresolved issues between the two. I would find it believable for someone like Dani to have grown up with resentment and complex issues being surrounded by BRILLIANCE from every corner.
    • So yesterday I wandered off on a tangent about Elvis Presley, off the top of my head. Probably no one cares but I want to correct facts. Elvis Presley did have a twin who was stillborn. They named him Jesse Garon Presley & in a level of their emotional life he was very real to Elvis's mama & to a lesser degree to Elvis himself. I will now return you to your regularly scheduled discussing post-Ron prattle.
    • They are the absolute stars for me. I’m delighted every day that my feelings about them from the special on the show, turned out to be that and so much more. I genuinely feel episodes are better when they’re featured. This cracked me the hell up especially with Leslie listening

. This episode was so good, I will be rewatching when I get home tonight. THIS was classic soap opera.
    • I can barely remember who was the person they tested her with for the AMC revival but I *do* remember kinda liking them together (anyone remember better?  lol)  But yes, I feel the same.  It might not help that when I became a regular viewer Tad was presumed dead and she was with Craig...  I do remember that my sister's best friend had been an AMC viewer with her mom and dad and that they were very excited that Tad was returning... OK I instantly remembered that.  And now once again I'm sad about what coulda been with the reboot.
    • Well, that is weird. I do not see him but I only have him on Ignore on 2 accounts.
    • In the preview for the show back in February on Entertainment Tonight, Jeresa the costume designer was specific about each character's economic background, personality, and the character's personal fashion preferences.  Very much about the characters and not the actors. She said Eva is a thrifter, so her normal daily wardrobe would be something from a thrift store, and if BTG buys it new, they intentionally make it look used. So what you said fits about the type of thing a lower income person would buy for a fancy event.
