Big ouch to GL's 4.0 already.

Y&R folks, it seems they lost the most ground immediately after the OJ Ford Bronco chase drama. Was there a major shift in story quality?  They went from getting 9's in early '94 and staying in the 8's, and then June '94 hits and they're suddenly staying put in the mid 7's.

In 1995 P&G did a full-tilt boogie exec musical chairs. GL to AW, AW to ATWT, ATWT to GL. It was literally bad for all shows! I know they did not intend it to be bad but it worked out that way. And, it also was the beginning of a large amount of EP/HW upheaval for a number of years for those 3 P&G NY soaps.

No, John Valente was at AW. I have no idea where Laibson was because he was the wild card. Here, below, is the way it happened:

ATWT: Laurie Caso gone. John Valente in.

GL: JFP gone. Michael Laibson in.

AW: John Valente gone. JFP in.

With the result being that Laurie Caso was forced to retire. As it truly was musical chairs & one person got left out in the cold.

I'm not sure if I said it wrong before. I'm not sure if I'm answering your question.

June 1994 the frat party started.

Fall 1994 was the start of Nick and Sharon eating the show for the next year and half.

Blade/Rick began Summer 1994. January 1995 Rick kidnapped Blade and switched identities.

Yes. And I have always thought it was a crying shame. However, he went on to have a second career after P&G absurdly threw him away!!!

Laurie Caso absolutely positively was forced to retire FROM P&G!!!! You really need to not say some of the outright absurd INACCURATE things that you say!!! It is true that he went on to have a second career, but you don't know what the hell you are talking about by saying he was not forced to retire. HE WAS. THINK.

Someone needs to look up the definition of retire. And learn the facts that Laurence Caso works to this day professionally. Saying that he was forced to retire 30 years ago is incorrect. Also, Laurence Caso worked for about 7 years at P&G. He would not be eligible for retirement from P&G. Fact.  Now, back to the 90’s ratings.

Laurence Caso's Linkedin would seem to validate @TEdgeofNight's point that although he was fired from ATWT, he was never “forced” to retire from either the entertainment business or P&G in specific.

His company Shoot the Catfish productions was established by the investment of P&G

Although I would never presume to know him well enough to call him Laurie, it was rather simple to search beyond Wikipedia
