Well, being self-isolated and work from home I figured it was time to pull out some old soap history I have had saved over the years. Disclaimer: This list was I had saved from back in the days of the Media-Domain soap opera boards(yes LOL) out of interest that someone else had complied, apparently for the best and worst soap choices picked by TVG between '91 and '07. If anyone sees any discrepancies or wants to expand on the choices please feel to share!

That year I had stopped watching soaps all together. Then when I became interested in the genre again, some years later. I was kind of shocked at how much things had deteriorated in just a couple of years.

If I recall right a spiteful Michael Logan justified his reasoning by saying every soap was inconsistent that year in maintaining quality.

LOL, If they still did this for 2020 (given we even will have regular soaps back on the air by a certain point) I'd already give Y&R the best for it's reruns!

Thanks @Paul Raven I really enjoyed this article. A look at such a world gone by for soaps. I love the fan who said she lost interest in Nat Polen after he left ATWT. An example of that very specific soap or network loyalty which you don't have now, for obvious reasons.
I didn't even remember that Lloyd's soap career started so long before GL.
I also love the excitement at meeting Walter Cronkite.
That tour sounds great. I wish I'd been on it.

I think based on his DAYS history that he may have been responsible for some of the focus on impactful twists at GH, and going out on a limb more with Willow/Drew. It took an outside person to goose what GH usually does IMO, and I think this will be good news for DAYS from what I hear. I hope GH doesn’t sink back into everybody just being mostly amiable and just there again.

Nice to see a POC and relatively younger person writing DAYS. Is there a particular storyline or key eps he wrote that gives us an idea of his writing style? My biggest gripe with the show is they do not know how to write younger characters. None of the young couples are compelling other than Johnny and Chanel. All the ingenues are pregnant by the age of 22 and that is so unrealistic to me. i am SOOO tired of babies.

I really didn't have an issue with Dante/Sam either. They were fine. They were just boring. As much as I disliked Sam/KeMo at the time she would not actually have been a character I would have killed off. I certainly wasn't broken up by it either lol.
It's odd they hardly even teased Dante/Lulu and now it looks like Dante is heading towards Liz.
