"Any production that has a vaccine mandate in effect as of May 12 will be able to continue to enforce it for the duration of the production, or for TV shows, for the remainder of the season."

"One last vestige of the pandemic era will remain: a COVID testing system will be implemented solely for performers involved in 'intimate scenes,' according to a joint release from the entertainment unions."

Man, if I had a child in school, I’d be livid.
Corporations like JP Morgan Chase are securing the best air filtration systems for their offices, while paying far less than what schools are paying and some schools are buying ultra expensive systems that are potentially introducing ozone and other dangerous particulates into the air.  Someone should really be studying possible connections between air quality, test scores, migraines, asthma (which lead to student absences) and behavioral problems.

I recently went to get my driver's license renewed and I was the only one wearing a mask. Did it feel weird? Yes but I wanted to keep myself safe.

I know the feeling. I also wear a mask when I am in spaces where there isn’t enough space for distancing or I know I am going to be in an indoor setting with others for longer than 10 minutes. Now that the numbers are going up, I am masking in public spaces at all times. The masks can also protect from the flu and other respiratory viruses.

I thought I was  doing a quote reply, I don’t know why it looks like this.

By the way, neither I nor @Soapsudswere talking about mandates, we were simply stating what we are doing, especially in the wake of the obvious climb in infection rates.
I know two people who have been infected, one of which was briefly hospitalized. It’s your body, it’s your choice. I do understand why many hospital workers would be in favor of masking policies. They have to be there daily, for 8-12 hours a day.

Whatever you posted here, it's gone now. I tried quoting but it's a disappeared spoutible.   I remember reading what you'd linked to and I was fascinated by the article, so I came back here to find it today, but it's gone now.

Do you remember what it said?  I think it was a study about how different bodies have immune cells that respond differently to respiratory stuff? Or something like that?

Sorry, I wish I could remember what it was. Perhaps the person removed the tweet. There’s also the unfortunate possibility that the account was removed.

By any chance, was it this?

While doing a brief search, I saw an article about alternating arms for receiving the vaccine possibly boosting the immune response. I know that I didn’t post anything about that but I just found this fascinating as I have switched up arms.

    • Well, that is weird. I do not see him but I only have him on Ignore on 2 accounts.
    • In the preview for the show back in February on Entertainment Tonight, Jeresa the costume designer was specific about each character's economic background, personality, and the character's personal fashion preferences.  Very much about the characters and not the actors. She said Eva is a thrifter, so her normal daily wardrobe would be something from a thrift store, and if BTG buys it new, they intentionally make it look used. So what you said fits about the type of thing a lower income person would buy for a fancy event.
    • As hard as it is for me to imagine anyone but Don Stewart as Mike Bauer...I dunno...maybe someone like "Adam-12"'s Kent McCord?  Or Robert Hogan?
    • Yep I don't hate Javi and then he's macking on Leo and I'm done with him. Leo is a failure who needs to go away   I am bracing myself for Alex reading the manuscript and imagining him and Stephanie as the main characters, because this couple has literally nothing else to do until Joy comes back showing
    • Oh yes. The towel scene though
    • Interesting that Donald May has been mentioned twice. He's on my dreamcast list for Alan. He was somewhat older than Stewart and Bernau, but he could have played either role. An actor I thought about for Mike was Dan Hamilton. He played a role on GL during the 60s, but enough time had passed that it shouldn't have been a problem. He usually played smarmy characters but it would have been cool if they had gone against typecasting.
    • I like Jed Allan, it has to be someone who can play authority but "good" authority to oppose Alan's bad. As mentioned upthread, can you imagine how it would have been with Alan and Mike against each other, with Roger in the mix. But I would have had Roger, ever the opportunist to try to take advantage of their fighting to make his own headway.  Maybe that could have been the storyline, Mike involved with Alex, but the constant fighting with Alan causes a rift (she like Mike fighting Alan when it is to her advantage, but he can be a bit self righteous and I can see him demanding her to disavow Alan publicly..) so that is how Roger lands in her bed, much to the consternation of BOTH Alan and Mike. I would like to have a woman of a certain age being fought over by two men (really three if you count Alan.
    • Please let May have less garbage time. The Y&R threads have shrunken, whereas I can barely keep up with the Beyond the Gates threads.
    • The Liam cancer story was a failure from day one. It didn't start at point A but at a late point C. My aunt had brain cancer, and it isn't being told properly or correctly.
    • OMG, did Gio look good. Do not get me started on how good he looked. Lord. It's as if the writers realized Lulu had almost no scenes with her mother, so they wrote all this material for a 2-day Lulu/Laura therapy session. It was nice to see them connect, but I scratched my head yesterday when Lulu tried to connect her adoption story to Laura's life. That was a stretch to me, and I sign the writers were working overtime. Today, the script eventually got to the right place, but I thought it was overboard to see Lulu so worked up that she was near tears. That's investment in a story that's become an obsession.
